  1. You have waay to much free time and money :P But I envy you. Here in Poland there is very hard to complete whole Pirates theme... despite having most of it, still got long way to make "game fields". Player pawns are so big it would be hard to move them xD But nice idea. Hope that UCS Star Destroyer would also participate.
  2. Most figz are nice but some needs impoovements: Edward ha always one hand, that is metallic. Rock Monster hand should be do it. His hair should be longer but not all ppl have blonde hair from MMv, so it's nice like that. Maes needs more clever head - nowadays there are lots of glasses-guys even with beard. The rest is decent, Riza is ok, Roy has weird coice of hair xD Now I'm waiting for Armstrong or Winry :)
  3. http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=6894-1 Invader rocks as the small-middle-sized ship. It has some firepower, modules, laboratory and a robot. Everything a spy needs (altrough it's not so good as spyrius Cyber Saucer, it has ist class design and some nice features) But the instant win is: Deep Freeze Defender Lab section, rocket launcher, 2-men-cocpit, small ship hidden behind doors, magnetic transport of rocket, beautiful figures... it's awesome - you can fly this thing everywhere. You can easily get more than one or two ships. There is so many possibilities, you can get. Bottom line DFD is just awesome :)
  4. Have you seen the serial "Adventures of Merlin"? It was aired in Poland not so long ago. It's quite new one and not so bad. And personally I thinmk Kingdoms line is just like that: You have knights, ladies in distress. Also there is magic, but not so much as expected. When it is being used, you can feel the power - magical spells, some weird summonings, magical potions. Dragons appear too, and when it happens, they're overpowered. Now, Fantasy Era Castle had lots of dragons, which were fighting alongside the Crownies or Skellies. Dark Wizard was so strong, that even Merlin would... pardon my french "pee his pants". FEC Dragons became part of regular troops. Now http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=1746-1 remember this one, right? In upcomming Calendar there is kind of remake of blue wizard. Small dragons (or dragon statuses) are included in Kingdoms sett, so Dragon Knights may worship these creatures... or breed them? Who knows... In conclusion: Magic seems to be in foreground of whole plot. But at the same time is more mystical, than Fantasy Era. Dragons seem to be stronger than the previous ones (where every knight could ride them - see Troll Warship) and may be controled only by those, who know how to talk with them or something (Meaning, that only wizard can do this). Turning back to the 80-90s indeed :) I will be looking forward to it. I hope you understood me. I'm trying my best, writing in English :/
  5. http://toyfair2010.figures.com/showphoto.php/photo/927 Here you are. As you can see, the base is very similar to what we have seen in Space Police Logs. There are also pictures of upcoming Lunar Limo (with joker-like alien) and another SP Ship (similar to neptun carrier from Atlantis IMO). No more monorail hints yet but it may be released in future as - let's say - special edition set.
  6. I wasn't really Involved into Space themes (even if born same year M Tron appeared) until I have seen Ice Planet 2002 in one of catalogues. This and Spyrius were my favourites. from UFO I got only one saucer, Insectoids were ugly and I prefered Adventures. In 1999 Space Port came once again (lats appeared in 95' till then) and then Life on Mars - one of my most favourites with the set "Recon Mech RP" (but in Poland it was called "Robot Firemaster" xD). I liked its design with claw, flamethrower and gas tank on back. I liked the Martians - they looked so adorable :D 2007 Mars Mission for me was like nothing... now I regret this, because some sets were well designed and intresting. Must look for them on E Bay... And now Space Police III - aliens are like from Star Wars, some of which are dressed in 90s Space suits. I like that refferences more like actual sets. Hyperspeed Pursuit and Enforcer are the best, but the SNOT design is not so adorable. It looks just weird for me - not like Lego. I'd say - "more like game". Another bad thing - flick friggin fire missiles - who came with the idea of this? Good and fresh in Vikings line, bad in star Wars and SP3 theme. So is it improvment at all? In design, colours and figures - yes. But not in the plot or enjoyment - nowadays they look more like models, not toys. Maybe I got this feeling because of FF missiles or something, or maybe the designs are "out of this galaxy" or just simple nostalgia and affection to the older sets.
  7. Refreshing the topic... The base is going to be released in 2nd half of 2010 and it looks similar to the base from video, so hope is returning. Talking about monorail - Space Cargo Train with lots of goodies taken over by Blackhole Gang... it's just too much impossible. But who knows, in TLC (SPIII Crew) there are some of workers who are part of "Lug" community. They may be reading your ideas right now (same situation like Imperial Flagship) ;)
  8. Ah u see u forget about one little theme... ...called Agents ... where Villans are also people, but they're wicked ones with full of artficial joints. Long time ago Aquazone had several sub-series, where all divers were fighting with each other with knives and harpoons. Nowadays we got FANTASY divers (or how do we call them) so we can't kill poor, little mermaids (no copyrights xD) because THAT would be immoral. "Fight with people, not with funny monsters, that are just defending their teritorry but are completely unreal". I know, I know, nowadays we are overexxagerating and taking care of children too much, and for me this is ridiculous. In 90s nobody would even think about it - cowboys were shooting to villains, robbers, Ninjias were slaughtering themselves (nobody was good there? xD), Pirates are fighting against law for over 2 decades now (they're bad or good? You can't tell) and even city Divers Red were competing with divers Blue. So, if TLC was creating such themes (excluding producing war-related ones) for years, why they can't do fantasy themes where enemies are UNREAL? Tell me, where you can find Squidman race on Earth? Why we all hear legends about furious Kraken, which was also mentioned as a bad. Poor sharkmen - they really wanted to be polite sharkies, befriended with divers, armed with harpoon launchers, wrecking machines etc. Poor big Crystal King has to face with cold-hearted miner with metal implant on forehead (gee, terminator in lego!) who is using hand-drill to smash him to dust! It's imagination, not racism. For children is easier to understand that "this funny frog is robber! Our brave hero (played by ME-HUMAN) will quickly catch him!". Got it? I know, my post is full of irony and has quite vulgar tune. But try to understand me, I am now grownup and when I was a child, there was nothing like "racism". You had your ninja/pirate/spaceman/cowboy/diver that wanted to be. And always needed someone to oppose you. It doesn't matter wheter is Imperial Guard or Kranxx, the Ashoka Brother. Remember - Ackbarr could join the Empire. But he wanted to make his remarkable line among Rebel side xD
  9. It is not specified, what is "real deal" and what must be "fantasY". I'm waiting for real deal but not only with exploring mars (In my opinion "life on mars" was the best of all mars, despite the fact that there were only 2 of them :D) but with something like new worlds/planets. Ice Planet 2002 (born in 1993) was something fresh, after the times of generic spacemen from Blacktron/M-Tron/futuron/any-other-tron-but-not-the-disney-tron. And of course Space Police - which we are having now. Well, aliens nowadays are having many, many refferences to old themes. But suprisingly there are no human representatives. Sad future for men race xD Overruled by flat-headed-fish-eyed-grey monsers with their tounges on top. So the real deal changed into fantasy. Or M tron/futuron/blacktron was fantasy from the beginning? It is just too confusing. But we are having sculpture, showing clasic-space pioneer. Ack, too much data... From the different angle, space port, space exploration etc. was quite good. But I don't think spaceport will be back - NASA ends the mission with Space Station and I don't know if it will be intresting enough. But in about 10 years old shuttles will be replaced with new ones... then maybe they will be in LEGO as a sub-series of City? So after all, it looks like I prefer fantasy :D Truth is I really, really want to see Ice Squidman from Ice Planet 2222 (or how many years have passed...) and any other human representatives among civilians or bad aliens from m-tron/blacktron/futuron/robo raiders/unitron/Insectoids/UFO? Exploriens will back, I tell you that xD
  10. Badboy used it already, but head from new Atlantis just has to be used picture from Daoudbazzar's review
  11. I voted for viking ship (the Drakkar) because I owned it, and more. Nice colors, wonderful decoration, magnificent roast beef stand, quite good missile launcher (with more sense than flick fire) and of course the rows. The big, lovely ship that is full of things to do. Enjoyable set with great monster. And my first one xD Rest looks like they were half of a ship (skeleton ship for instance) and don't have the magic ("It's a kind of magic magic magic...").
  12. Governor "404 error" made his move.
  13. This was my first "bigger" set and second in western line (after I got Sherrif showdown I knew I need a Sherrif office). It was lovely set: the safe, money hidden in table, movable roof, nice doors... and of course - an exploding wall! I enjoyed destroying it a lot. That days, lego sets were playable and fun. They used nice and easy methods, not cheat tricks like flick-fire missiles (which mostly are problematic to flick). I miss western, and in a seconds I'll start to rebuild this set :D
  14. You lucky bastard... having this magnificent set before anyone else has it. Toy's 'r us ocassion? Imperial ship beeing this big, with lots of details, interior and not a MOC is quite impressive (okay, we can say that TLC designers are making MOCs which are becoming sets ^^). I especially like the colour. Minifigs? I'd prefer more unique ones. Of course, there is new Governor's daughter (or maybe his wife who knows ) with brilliant design, and a small pirate - a cook. But who needs yet another one Brickbeard? We got him in: Soldiers Fort Brickbeards Bounty Pirate Island (not Loot Island) and in Chess, Tic-tac toe and battlepack I'd prefer this blue-golden jacket guy from creator set. In castle creator we got ordinary knight. Why would we not be given yet another unique guy? xD Ok, thats for sharing advantages and disadvantages. No matter how common minifigs it will have, I'll buy it. I just love the design, the size, and the 2 (3?) unique minifigures. The problem is - I don't have much place left in room to store yet another ship
  15. Link with report does not work. And I got acrobat reader. I can't even save it to the PC, please help. EDIT: After 10 times it finally worked. I'm pleased to see, that Pirate Plundering Village idea is on the first place. Second place actually became true (an UCS Imperial Ship). Intresting idea for me is to make small ships brick-built. That good be a good filler between small wooden boats and mid-scaled ships/great warships. I hope, that in 2011 catalog we'll see some scenes just like in early nineties.
  16. I really would like to see Trading Post (excluding the name "Imperial", even if it sounds as cool as Imperial Star Destroyer). This time not only with coins, gems, cranes but also with mini-market. cherries, bananas, green apples and of course fishand chicken - quite a lot of things to be sold. Of course, there was MMV but this time... I'd like to see this in pirate-style. Wchich includes Canteen, docking, a pirate blacksmith and of course if we have dociking, there should be trading ship. So wheter it would be remake or new set - I would buy this representation of town for sure. (or we could be given a mermaid's cove, which would be nice. Atlantis is comming with Sea-people, so it can be used in pirate line too)
  17. Oh my... I managed to buy second pirate guy with lovely gold decals. I think I will just store him in lego plastic bag - just because I'm afraid of ripping off gold decals. You are talking about gold coins. They seem to be ok, but I am not rubbing them too much. (actually they' re stored inside chest all the time :D). Some of you mentioned that broke the flag clips, when you were younger. Strange... my old flags are in good shape, considering that I used them a lot. One flagfrom material lost all his "pike-holes" but I used it as a superhero cape (In mid-nineties there was no jedi robes yet :D). Here we are talking about adult (well, if 19-year old man is actually adult) who grabs minifigs, stares at their decals, gives them a weapon and places on the deck/island/whenever. Then after half a year I took them and watched, how gold decals faded out. I made a test: I placed one new Imperial Soldier in the same place... nothing happened. I placed old-series pirate - still nothing. So where is the problem? Is it acid for real, or sudden change of climate? Because I took some pirates with me to another city for a while ( I just couldn't leave them... ern... alone? :D ). Suprisingly all of my Knights from fantasy era castle are okay (Remember, that some of them have golden crown decal on their bodies). And I used them the same way, like pirates. Hoveover there were rumors, that some people have problem with those minifigs. Lego group should consider this, and improove the quality of golden paint. Maybe using materials from 20 years ago could help? (Golden decals on the belts of old-series pirates are all IN GREAT CONDICION! And then I used to play with them a lot) Sad and fragile.
  18. Hilarous presentation xDD Atlantis... hm... not quite. They got different collors and suits Space Police? Doesn't look like policeman. And we seen that the policemen will have red windshields Mars Mission 2? Better not Lets ust say... that this is the prelude to new lego space series. Now, what we had in 1990? Futuron, Blacktron II maybe... so prepare for Futuron II :D I knew it - First Pirates now Space :)
  19. remove something went wrong...
  20. Hello hand-washers! Let me say something. Legos are (or were) produced mostly for kids. Now imagine 9-year old (or whatever) boy who gets back from the outside, and then grabs his awesome minifig of a pirate from Creator. About half a year he doesn't want it anymore. Why? Because minifig's awesome gold decals are completely gone. Pirate looses about 50% of his awesomness. And he just played it with quite clean hands. Now - pirate from 89' - He can play with him many many years and the gold decal of his belt is not fading away. Newer one cannot be washed by water, older can. So why older ones are better? Because they were made from better plastic and paint. Because lego cared abbout playability. And most important - those minifigs are designed for kids, not forelders, who always wash rheir hands and play in gloves! And one more thing - i can understand why silver/gold decal of sword is fading - because I played it a lot, and it just snaps NOT fades. And it takes about two/three years. Quite impressive, huh? Now - I taken pirate in pencil case twice. Nothing happened. It was standing near the stearing, standing on the deck, carrying indiana jones bag. And after half'a year... gold trimmlings gone. MOREOVER Remember governor's daughter? Her upper gold decals got worse - now they're bronze. Funny thing that the lower part ("dress") doesn't changed. Because it's regular lego brick. So now i have governor's daughter with bronze and shiny gold belt. Looks awful. Now I got creator pirate with almost faded gold decals (even in the back), now I got pirate with faded three buttons and two faded in the back. And of course two Imperials with faded buttons. One - with regular backpack - still has gold decals on his printed bag on the back. Stored in normal room, with air conditioning, regular lightings, stored sometimes on the air, sometimes in plastic container. And nothing changed till this moment. They faded away just like that. LEGO I don't know you anymore. What kind of paintings you use nowadays?
