  1. I think I got one of these for my sixth birthday (and I already had one, too). I had a pirate themed party. It was pretty sweet. I never understood that the island was supposed to be a volcano, though, until this year.
  2. I've been subscribed to the LEGO Club magazine for over a decade. A few years ago, I occasionally didn't receive catalogues in the mail. I ordered a second subscription, and most of the time, only one catalogue came. In the past few months, however, I've stopped receiving magazines from both subscriptions. Both subscriptions got the winter catalogue in the mail this week, between one and two months after my next door neighbor received his. My question to you, LEGO, is this: What the F, man? I had to order issue four of Bionicle comics from toywiz because I never got my magazine, despite the fact that I should have gotten TWO (and I'll probably have to do the same for issue five as well)! What the F?
  3. I fixed the link on the third picture. I'm not worried about the doors being blown off by the engines, because I see the open doors as becoming extended engines. I tried using curved slopes to fix the windshield gaps, but they just created smaller, uneven gaps, which made the problem worse in my eyes.
  4. The cockpit was designed by my friend Evan.
  5. GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST ZOMBIE PIRATES PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES ZOMBIE PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES GHOST PIRATES Now that's a well thought out and presented opinion, if I do say so myself.
  6. The word I would use to describe this is awesomazing. Interior not too big? P'shaw. Everything about this thing is MASSIVE, and you ought to be proud.
  7. Exo-Force was an awesome theme. I loved the idea of giant robot anime LEGO. It was like a million good things, all in one idea. But the second two years of it sucked.
  8. I just got this email revealing that it's a LEGO Universe viral marketing promotion.
  9. I don't know what the correct thing to do around here is. Should I post all my space MOCs in this one topic?
  10. Well, TLG just raised prices a year or two ago, and the oil prices keep going up, so I guess they're sacrificing quality to keep prices from going up again. Also, I believe the cracking Bionicle ball joints problem mainly started in 2008, after they created a new mold for joint sockets that has thinner, squared edges.
  11. I so envy you. I wanted that set so bad as a kid. My current oldest still together set is either Gali Nuva (who may have been re-assembled more recently after being taken apart), or the City Airport, which was a 2004 re-issue of the Century Skyway. I screamed when I saw it was re-issued; I had so lusted after that set when I got into LEGO the year after it was discontinued. I built it after I got it for Christmas, and it's still together (save a runway baseplate and a wheel piece for the luggage cart). So it's been together for five years... Not too impressive given the other posts in this thread. But God do I love that set.
  12. I first got mine in a piece bucket my mom got me when I was four or five, which I believe was my first set. It was grey, and I didn't know what it was for years. It reminded me of a fishing pier for some reason.
  13. I cannot let this stand. Brickbeard's Bounty pales in comparison to greats like the Black Seas Barracuda and Skull's Eye Schooner, but it is nowhere near the travesty that was the Redbeard Runner. Need I remind anyone that the chief gimmick of that ship, the ship that ended the pirates line in 1997 much like a balloon falling flaccid after farting all of its air through a small hole, was BREAKING? You pulled a pin to make one of the masts fall down, and the aftcastle fall out. Plus, it had THREE SAILS, which were FULL OF HOLES. I was a little kid when it came out, and it sucked so hard that I was wondering when the "real" pirate ship of 1997 was going to come out. Now that I'm finished ranting, I'm going to have to say that the City Corner was the best set of 2009. Even though I haven't opened it yet, it's eye catching, and looks like a heck of a lot of set for $60.00. It's got a roof, substantial accessories, and a great price; just about everything I want out of a LEGO set. The worst set, I must say, that I have EVER gotten, is that awful BrickMaster: Pirates book. My judgement was clouded because, as you no doubt were unable to ascertain from my opening rant in this post, I have a thing for Pirates. I bought that piece of crap for whatever ridiculous price was on it, took it home and was unable to build ANYTHING of value from the quantum of useless pieces it includes. That crime against my wallet taught me to think harder before I buy.
  14. I believe papercraft is big in Japan. If LEGO can ride on the success of papercraft, both could expand financially as industries and artistically as hobbies.
  15. This is beautiful. Definitely the best Matoran Universe MOC I've ever seen. I love what you did with the torso, especially since the only thing I would have thought of would have been using an Inika torso. A picture of him mimicking the pose of the Mask of Life would be nice, but hardly necessary. You have me thinking about trying to replicate your model so I can play with it now...
  16. I'm a TFOL (for another year, anyway) and a member of BZPower. But I'm a System guy as much as I am a Bionicle guy, and I was craving a community that was a little more mature and consistent. Eurobricks seems like the best place to talk about all the great System sets (as well as everything else), and the past, present, and future of LEGO as a company. Here's to hoping this community turns out to be as great as it seems, and that I can meaningfully contribute.
