I made the sails with two sheets of paper glued together, surprisingly to me these sails look good and are strong. I based myself on the Lego patterns except for the higher sails and the rear one that I made myself.

Oh no It can be in English as well. Do you know how often Brickshelf is updated?

hello everybody, I have added a pic so it may not be viewable anymore for the moment I'm still looking for a name... I can't find one ! I like "La Confiance" (Confidence) but it was a real ship, I'd like to find one on my own.

19d I added sails to my frigate, so if someone is interested in seeing the difference, here it is my frigate with sails Edit by Phred: Changed link to back up folder. However, this appears to be the version with brick-built sails instead of the custom paper sails. Feel free to check out gui45's current B-S folder or the thread he made for the latest version of this frigate!

Apart from improving my frigate, I currently plan to make a large scale rear castle, you can see the early project here. It's a hybrid between a vessel and a frigate. But I'm limited with the number of bricks I have.

In fact I hadn't built something in Lego for years, what brought me to make a ship is my passion for the navies of the modern era (15th to early 19th century), I am also a student in history and I'd like to write a master's thesis related to the navies of the 18th century. Plus I have always liked modelism and I wanted to do something creative with my hands. I created this frigate because to me the most beautiful ships ever are 74 guns vessels and late frigates.
