    MOC: Hummer H1

Nice hummer. Love that there are not studs present on your model. Do you have any pics with minifigs inside either truck? I am all about vehicles that can hold more than one minifig. Again sweet models!
  2. Nice. That is a useful site. One thing though is that there is a lime green wheel arch available on BL, but it seems the part never came in any sets. What's the deal?
  3. Yep, the rear wedge plates are probably going to be removed as well as pushed in one more stud to shorten the car. The front ones may be redesigned to shorten the car more, but I want to retain the front splillter in between the wedge plates. We shall see. Dude now that I think about it, this car would be perfect as a batmobile especially minifig scale( I don't like big batmobiles). Not too big not too small. I wonder how big the official Lego Batmobile is. Hmmm, maybe if the car doesn't work out I can convert it to a batmobile haha. Yep, I built the car in LDD so my 6 stud wide windshield choice isn't much. I actually have stopped using this windshield in favor of a sleeker on in LDD, but the angle difference between the two is drastic. There is no in between. Yea I agree the size is too large. I was trying to cram all the things I wanted into this one car. Maybe has too much. Maybe if I make it more simple it would look better and I could use other design traits into another car(can never have too many cars haha). Yea the rear is huge. I tried to make the rear offset from the front like most every sports car has. In LDD it came out well, but translated into real Lego it is huge. I feel you on the Creator size. I was thinking of buying a Creator green car set, but it is too big for the minifigs. Now this car is probably even larger than the Creator car haha. The car would smash on the truck if they get in accident. Does anyone know of any windshields I could use for this car or any techniques on how to make it more sleeker? I have started to use the 6 stud wide slope in trans-clear. But on BL it is officially a slope rather than a windscreen. Thanks for the comments guys!
  4. I am still suprised this is a 10 dollar car. It is so simple and small. Reminds me of a go kart rather than a car. But one thing I do love about this model is that I think this is one of the few Lego vehicles with red wheel arches. Do any other Lego sets have red wheel arches?

    VW Bulli

Wow nice! I have a question, what wheels are those? I could use those to make smaller cars.
  6. Nice car! I too am trying to make genuine multi seater cars. Hey how did you mount that steering wheel? I have a car that has minimal cab space and I need to angle the steering wheel like you have. Also are you going to make a model with a roof? I too am curious how this model will look with a roof.
  7. Hello everyone. Great site you have here. I just recently got back into Lego after a 12-13 year hiatus so it is good to actually find out that there is a huge adult following of Lego. I guess we never really outgrew them haha. I never really liked any Lego cars that TLC has released. No less that the bigger vehicles such as trucks never allowed for more that one minifig to go inside. I decided to try my luck so I started building a plethora of cars in LDD(all that allow 2 minifigs to reside) and made this car. Ordered the parts of BL as I thought this one would have good proportions. While building I quickly realized the car is too big for my liking and a little too big for my goal of being minifig scale. LDD made the car look smaller than it is, and the actual Lego model is fragile due to actually not building it in real life. I had to modify the car some just so the front end would not buckle hence the plates right under the front wedge plates under the doors. Here the car is next to a minifig: And next to one of the new Lego truck and trailer just to show you the size: I would like to break down the car to make it smaller while maintaining the shape, but I have some problems. The car has a rear engine hatch and front hood, so compressing the model will mean either redesigning them or removing them completely. And I do not have many bricks to choose from to do this. Big engine in the back with sloping intakes: Radiator and frame rails in front: What do you guys think? I have another car that I will be ordering parts for that is a lot smaller but a lot less exciting. Someone else on this site may appreciate it as well as the car was inspired by their MOC on LDD and the fact that he used to own it(I currently daily drive this car as well).
