Yeah the new castle looks like its going in the right direction. Lets hope they keep this theme going for the next couple of years.

Good detail review of a classic. This was my favourite castle from the eighties and it made a great castle wall. As I had most of the pieces from the vintage castle (375 I think) I used them to make a yellow keep. With a few roof titles a small market place could be made. With ducks and chickens made from upside down title pieces. Now all these years later I still like this castle alot. I think the 2007 castle is one of the first in the last seven to ten years to be built to the same level. Most new sets don't introduce as many new pieces as was introduced in this set which makes it pretty special. Anyway great review, lets hope the 2010 castle is even better than previous years. Lets hope the new dragon and lions will keep going for a couple of years.

Fantastic effort. Great attention to detail. I like the last photo showing a action shot!

Now there is a storm trooper which can serve on Mustafa or any other lava filled planet. Good idea.

Good army the lead general, however it's a bit hard to see your fort. Is it possible to get slightly larger photos? -

Nice set up Legoman, love the CW EPII battle. I take it your not a big fan of stickers either? The only minor issue, is that the AT-OT blocks the 2003 AT-TE. I reckon it would look even better if you could see a bit more of the Walker. Anyway great job -
Great pic, I really like the blue coloured stormies as well. I wonder if this was one of the 'disintegration' that Vader refers to in Empire?

Very cool model. Love the rocket launchers and the AT-RT. This creation is good enough for TLG to copy.

Lego Book confirms Black Falcons as evil?
Smidy101 replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well it's finally confirmed the Falcons are the 'Bad Guys'. That clears up a twenty year old argument I've had with my brother. Anyway jokes aside the LEGO book combo is a good reference guide and there are some excellent pictures across the years. Yes there are a few too many errors, but that aside it is still better than nothing. Now all they need to do is produce a Medieval theme book and the collection will be complete. -
Great pictures, now if only I could have multiple votes. The ARF Trooper on a AT-RT would look really good and cold be made into a cheapish army building set. I wonder how many new characters will be in season 2?

Great new set. Just when I thought the pirate line was dead. I wonder does this mean that they will make more pirates next year. This ship is so much better than the previous pirate and Imperial ships with great attention to detail. Roll on January.

Sorry about the small photos, I think I selected the wrong size in flickr. I try again this time they should be larger. The ATAT's Officers You don't know the power of the dark side. -
Thanks for the tip. Checked it out and it was really great. He shows all of the book and shows you how easy it is to remove the minifigure. Once again thanks for the site. It can be found if you type in 'Lego Star Wars Visual Dictionary Overveiw and Review First on Youtube', and yes there is a spelling mistake in the title (Overveiw [sic]). The review goes for about 8mins. If you haven't bought the book yet, then check it out.

Thanks Commander Fox, I dug up some my old Imperial forces, I mixed them in with the more modern men, the photos aren't the best. The AT AT's and AT ST's More of the men Well that it now that I've run out of base plates. 2010 should be good to increase the number of snowtroopers. -

Excellent collection of clones. It inspired me to dust off some of my old clones, not in the same scale but enjoy anyway. If they every bring out cheap Kashyyk clones, well maybe in 2011. -
Yes I notice that as well. In addition they call Ahsoka's droid RY-AY, have 2009 Han as 2004, have a 2003 Snowtrooper with a late model blaster, Incorrectly identify a 2005 Stormtrooper as 2006 and the list goes on. There are similar errors in the medieval section. If I could pick these errors up without even trying, image how easy it would be to give draft copies to a few LEGO fans. I'm sure there would be plenty of takers.

With the smaller sets I like to get keep an un-opened version. It just looks and feels better having an un-open set. With the bigger sets I just have to open them as the main reason I collect LEGO is to build the ever changing and interesting very well designed with great litttle men inside sets. Some of the box art on sets are very visually attractive. So I try to keep a flat version of the box to save space. I don't think I could ever not open a box if is was the only box of that set I had. There is nothing like getting a brand new set and building in one sitting.

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars minifigures?
Smidy101 replied to Darthking623's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yes Admiral Ackbar is my new favourite although any Clone/Imperial trooper is really good. My pick of the bunch would be the Snowtrooper, 2010 it going to be great. -

Some chromies from before but better quality Now I've got deep link working Here are some pictures of my army with an AT AT centre stage. These pictures are close ups of different sections of the Battle Station And a Ewok village for fun, -
When I got the Death Star I had the same issue with the double bun looking like a chocolate fudge. I don't understand why LEGO quality control can't pick this problem up as it is been happening for a long time. I just bought 10198 and checked Liea's hair and this time its a good mould. Anyway great review and excellent photos. I've made the Republic Cruiser and I think this new set looks alot better. The details on the outside are superior and the inside detail is all right. It is certainly a step up from the Republic Cruiser interior design work. In addition the cockpit is a lot better than the Cruiser. Overall I'm glad I bought the 10198 and look forward to a good build

I reckon; Queen Amidala figure is well over due. A UCS AT-AT is well over due and with the thirty year ESB coming up next year who knows. EpIII orange clones with Cody would look really good fighting a crab droid or one of those three legged tridriod. EpIII 501 clones would be really good in a Battle Pack. From the recent CW TV series they should make the Cold Clone Troopers 501st and an artillery piece which fires on the AAT. I just hope that TLG don't stop making SW LEGO after 2011.

Although not the DK SW Dictionary, I just got The Lego Book which contains the Standing Small and The Lego Book. The standarding small was really good because many minifigures from the past 30 years including Star Wars theme. Don't know if this is the right thread to talk about this but the book was tons good and it is semi SW related. There is some interesting trivia in the book as well, like Yoda was the first minifigure to get shorter legs and Boba Fett wears a Mitrinomon Z-6 jet pack. Both books are sold together and retail for approximately 25 pounds.

In the recent catalogue they had the Blue Clone troopers, rebel hoth troopers and others included in the Endor Bunker set. Going back a bit in the Sail Barge set they indicated that the painted Boba Fett would be included. However this has only ever been released in the Cloud City set. I guess lego get whatever figures they can find at the time of the photo to indicate the sets. If they get if wrong too bad. Sometimes they even change the body of the figure in their sets. Once I got a clone E2 body in lieu of a snowtrooper body in the Millenium Falcon set. It doesn't worry me now since the Hoth Battle Pack (large) set come out this year. However at the time it was really annoying.
