The changing faces of A. Skywalker is the best. I've always hated these CW faces Good photo as well.

:classic: Love it. This is one of my favourite scenes and you've done a really good job, the escape pod looks really good, and the photo with the dewback in the back ground with the sandtrooper mounted on it is excellent. Good stuff

Well this year the season 3 CW sets only came out in the second half of the year. In the early part of this year sets were from previous clone wars seasons.

Great review the best I've read. The pictures at the end was a nice touch. Over the years I've bought all three of the AT ATs. The first AT AT is the best, while the latest is a good effort the overall look of the orginial is still alot better. The walking AT is interesting but loses some realism as it has to walk. Although the fact that it actual walks makes up for its lack of realism some what. Anyway I'm still waiting for the UCS version. Maybe one day

I like the Han Solo reference, I'd always though the Princess said Nerve Hurter, or is that also the joke? Anyway made me laugh, and good photo clarity.

Yeah I'm really hoping that they will bring out the phase 2 clones too, however it maybe phase 1 and then in the second wave, similar to this year they may release the 'new' phase 2 clones basis on season 4.

Nice spin on a already great figure well done.

I'd like to see Commanda Colt in a set. Also the marines in Order 66, would be great in a set with one of those rectangular tanks.

Excellent review. Love the way you compare the clone pilots with new and existing. It kinda makes me want to get it now. Anyway well done.

Not bad. This jedi looks like he has wipped ice cream on his head.

Final brought the Sith Infilrator, the Naboo Captian is very detailed. The sith lord is good, but I don't know about the horny ring head piece. The Naboo Queen is not bad. Overall pretty happy with the set.

Nice collection. My collection isn't as deverse, however all up I'd have around 700, about 350 imperial and 350 clones. Enjoy your bricking

Great news, other SW sites are suggesting the same sets. It would be great if the General Gree is an E3 make based on the CW season 4. The commando droids sounds great, they are a bit of a favourite of mine. Anyway look forward to pictures

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
Smidy101 replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I agree the butcher is great. I also like the sword in the warrior minifigure. Wouldn't it be great if this made it into main stream Kingdoms sets. -
Nice work I really love the way the peasants are building the wall. The overall design is very classic with good use of new components. Top job.

The idea of a UCS AT AT would be excellent. They could have a openning side section similar to the Kenner AT AT and the snow troopers could fast rope to the ground. The cockpit or head could look similar to the movie with 2 pilot and General Veers. The internals could be design to hold cargo or speed bikes. The only problem is the cost would be very high. :classic:

Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display
Smidy101 replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thats one awesome display of lego SW. -
Love the idea of an X Wing remake. A good new droid will complete the set nicely. The BP if true are a change from the existing design. The usually have only the one faction in each BP. Hopefully the new Gree will be phase 2 clones. If so that would be a great set.

[REVIEW] 7962 Anakin Skywalker and Sebulba's Podracers
Smidy101 replied to parchioso's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Love the level of detail. A big improvement on the first set. This set fits in well with the release of E One sets. -
Nice catapult. I like the use of brown/wood pieces.

Each age of castle lego seems to bring a different view on the medieval theme. I like the original yellow castle but yellow for a castle (even though they exist in the real world) just doesn't seem right. Also the draw bridge entrance was too small and the horse looked like roof tiles. The knight helmets were too small and they had no plumes. Although the castle as a whole looks extremely good it lacks refinement, (and please stickers for shields). Overall a great first castle but needs refinement. The 1984 Lions castle introduced a really good look, however the knights helmets no longer had visors and there was no knights armour. The new flags and the lions shields with crossed jousting sticks was a nice touch. This castle was missing corner pieces and the entrance was too narrow to fit a cart. Overall an excellent relaunch of the medieval theme but not quite the complete package. The 1992 Black Knight's castle had all the ingredients of a great castle except it could not be opened out to form a wall as it was mounted on a base plate. The house like structure and different dragon flags, with very good looking knights made this one of the best. This is probably my favourite to look at but not as versitile as the other designs. The 2010 Kingdoms castle combines a lot of the good parts of previous castles and gives your more flexiblity in modifying the design. However the knight count is low and it doesn't come with an armour lion knight (just dragon and king). The new knights helmet is one of best helmets since the visor released in 1990. The dragon's knight colour is also very good. So overall each castle has its pros and cons and I know it sounds like a cop out but I find it really hard to pick one single favourite or best.

This is a good theory and TLG is still following this patten. However over the years they often break their structure and head in a completely new direction. Anyway I hope you're right. I can't wait for the Death Watch battle pack, but more phase 1 cones, lets hope they tweek them a bit.

Interesting thread. The original Slave 1 was a massive let down for me as it looked like a green wedge. Thankfully they fixed it with the 2006 job and the 2010 one looks even better with good minifigures. The orginial Sith fighter was a shocker. It looked like the designers just didn't have enough access to rounded pieces. Again the remake was a big improvement and one of the better sets that year. On the mini figure front, I can't go pass those aliens from the pod racer sets. Never bought any of those sets and still don't have any regrets. The main thing about bad sets is, it just makes it so much better when they bring out the remakes.

Is the new Castle line making old ones obsolete?
Smidy101 replied to concreteasflesh's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
New components and weapons can always be added to older designs to enhance the look. However the horse hasn't change its shape for over twenty years, so I guess they got something right. My favourite knights helmet is from the 1990's (french visor design). I still like the dark grey design. Don't get me wrong the shine armour and helmets are great, but they added to an already existing collection of quality helmets and gear to select from. In my opion the lions and the falcons are still the best looking armies. I like the 2007 crownies but from a distance I think the simplier design of the 84 knights look better. Sometimes less detail is better. The new 2010 knights are looking really good and these are easily the best knights they have made for a long long time. -
My first set was the peasants cart followed by most of the other 1984 sets. Had to wait for a many years to finally get the Blacksmith, but the wait was worth it. Its amazing what you can do with a handful of knights and a bit of imagination.
