  1. Hah! That's too cool. I might just make me a pair. I'll probably look dumb though because I don't have any lenses to put in them.
  2. Lol. Love that he gets frustrated at it.
  3. You should be able to find those trays at any arts and crafts / art supply store. Or, you can find them at hardware or sporting goods stores. Sorting pieces is a huge hassle. The multitude of different connectors, gears, beams, axles, etc. makes it extremely difficult to sort. For now, I only have two small plastic organizers for my Technic, and the rest is still mixed in with the BIG BIN. (Working on organizing that currently. Whew, takes so long!) I sort my Technic partly by function, partly by part. For instance, I have all my 2, 3, 4, and 5 axles in one spacer, the mid sized axels in the next and so on. However I do keep certain parts separate, such as bushings, pins, and axle/pin perpendicular connectors, since I have a lot of those and more often than not I use them. Steering is all grouped into one, so is suspension. Once I finish organizing all my System bricks, we'll see how many containers I have leftover to sort all the Technic in.
  4. Awesome work. Really reminds me of the Siege Tank from Starcraft.
  5. Awesome! I love Technic figs. I see someone's been watching Planet Terror...
  6. Great job on the drums! Very accurate.
  7. Wow, I really appreciate all the interest in my little MOC. I have a day off tomorrow so hopefully not much more time before I post V2.
  8. Your instructions look fantastic. I wouldn't want you to give those away for free.
  9. Awesome work man. I don't really know anything about BSG but that dark grey one you have there is freakin' sweet.
  10. Haha I'm glad you like it. I don't mind at all if you build one yourself. In fact I'd love to see what you come up with. You probably know more about these things than I do.
  11. Hey, thanks guys! I was wondering when someone was going to notice my little thread. :P The balancing was definitely the tricky part. I've been looking more and more at real camera jibs and it seems like they're balanced a little to the side of the camera, while mine is the opposite way around. Hopefully won't be long until I get version 2 together, I'm just trying out different techniques for strengthening the boom.
  12. Looking great! May I ask about your material and rendering setup? I've been working on a 3d lego project myself, the UCS X-wing. (Click here to see) I do agree that it's very hard to model a piece without having it right in front of you. I just modeled the canopy piece yesterday, and I'm pretty sure I have to change it a bit still. Anyway, looks awesome, keep up the good work.
  13. Been kicking this around the past couple of days and thought I might share it. I don't know where I got my inspiration from but for some reason I had an urge to build a camera and a jib arm. Getting the camera to look halfway decent was the tricky part, and it's still very fragile. The crane works as well as I had hoped, although I had to add an extra string at the top for support. That little camera actually weighs a lot more than it looks! While I'm pretty happy with the whole thing, there are still a few parts I would like to change. -I am most likely going to change the counterweight. Either box it in or find something more aesthetically pleasing. Right now, a battery box and tires aren't exactly cutting it for me. -I want to add remote controls to tilt and pan the camera. These will be controlled on the bottom end of the crane. As it is right now, there's just a simple mechanism to keep the camera level. -I need to make the boom arm more rigid. I'm thinking of adding strings on either side for lateral stabilization. Anyway, let me know what you guys think. Video and pictures below.
  14. Awesome work! I really like the look of your engine.
  15. No probs. *Goes back to drooling over Falcon pictures*
  16. Easy to overlook I suppose. Anyway, sounds like it's pretty well sealed.
  17. Wow, this will be pretty darn big when you're finished! I wish you the best of luck.
  18. I don't know why you think these are terrible, I actually think they're cool and creative. I especially like your helicopter. The landing gear is nicely done and I love the detail on the rotors. As a suggestion, perhaps try to incorporate more tiles or SNOT (Studs not on top) building to eliminate the studs on your models and make them more streamlined. Keep up the good work!
  19. Sorry, I just wanted to pop in again and say that I love that red stripe around the engine enclosure. Beautiful!
  20. I love 'em both!
  21. Fantastic work! You've captured it pretty much perfectly. I am really impressed that you were able to squeeze a full cockpit into that thing. Anyway, great work.
  22. I'm awestruck. The detail is nothing short of amazing. You've captured the Battlecruiser perfectly in my opinion. Just when I've forgotten how long I've been waiting for SCII to come out, there you go and remind me again. :P Nice work man, really great job.
