Hello daveyandjoshy, Flex track are already implemented in Bluebrick (since version 1.7), so you don't need to add the images yourself to the library. The Flex track is available in the Track folder, or simply select a track on your layout and press the 'F' shortcut key. Then to adjust the curve of the flex track, double-click left and hold the click on an extremity of a track section that contains some flex track, then move your mouse. Release the mouse button when you're satisfied with the curve. Enjoy.

Hello, I've modified my script, now the Set (only XML files) are also visible in the part tracker, and you can download them (they can be easily identified with there "Set" image). I strongly suggest to download them and keep the "NotListedInLibrary" flag of the sub part to avoid having a part lib too crowded in BlueBrick. if you only need one part of the set (let say the vehicule for example), you can still drag and drop the whole set, then right click on it and choose "ungroup", then delete the subpart you don't want. BTW, I will rename all the set with the peeron/bricklink convention, i.e. in the form of XXXX-Y for the 1.8 release. It won't break your existing file (unless we made some mistake in the renaming process).

That's a good question!! This is because these parts are supposed to be used inside a group part which is a single XML file that group several parts. But unfortunately these standalone XML files are not listed in the part tracker. I will try to modify my script to let them appear such as you can also download them. Sorry for the inconvenience. Anyway, I'm working on the 1.8 version right now, and new cool features will come, including a new type of layer to add some rulers with measurement units, and also a very convenient filter combo box, to filter the parts displayed in the part lib. Stay tuned!

@spanks_4: in BlueBrick you can layout your tables first in a brick layer, then add another brick layer on top of it and lay down your baseplates and tracks. In the next major version (1.8) I will add a new functionality to also setup the dimension of your room (in feet or meter) before doing the layout.

It is true that the XML format didn't changed, but unfortunately the encoding changed. So unfortunately, in such situation you need to redo the organization with the new version of the files.

Hi, In the 1.7.1, the encoding format of the part XML files has changed for compatibility reasons with Mac and Linux. Now the part XML files should be encoded in UTF-8. Therefore I advise you to: 1) Unzip the 1.7.1 on a clean folder to avoid some old files in ASCII that have been renamed. 2) Download again the additionnal packages if you want them, and unzip them in the 1.7.1 part folder. 3) Copy your custom parts in the 1.7.1 part folder then convert the encoding to UTF-8 (with your favorite text editor) and add the encoding in the first line of the XML file (you can look into a 1.7.1 part as an example). Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi, Just a quick note to tell you that I released the version 1.7.1 of BlueBrick. This is a maintenance version which fixes 21 bugs including 5 crash bugs. But most important, this version is now fully compatible and tested with Mono. It has also been tested under Linux successfully (unfortunatly not under Mac, because among the tenth Mac users who proposed themself to beta test this version, none has given me feedback). So Mac and Linux users can now enjoy the full experience of BlueBrick under their favorite OS. I strongly recommend you to install this version. Please note that the BBM format didn't changed since 1.7.0, but all the XML files of the parts have been converted to UTF-8 (for compatibility reason with Linux/Mac). Also note that I've added the flexible magnet connection for all the train sets, just to motivate you to install this version. Enjoy!

Hi, Is anyone interested into creating these two parts for BlueBrick? : http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/x862ac02.dat and the part 304c03 Thanks in advance.

It would be easy to do: You just need to copy/paste the gif and XML files of the 9V straight track by renaming the files. Then you should change the XML connection points to give the correct angle. For that, you need to know the actual radius you can get with such a large curves. Read the documentation about how to extend the part library for more details.

The program can list the part used in the layout, however, there's not yet a feature to set a budget for each part in order to let the program warn you when you exceed the budget, but this is a feature I may add later. Also, I don't know any software to which you give a set of parts and he draws for you the possible circuits. With a big set of parts the possibilities are so vast that I doubt such a software could be written.

Good news, I've just finished to refactor the code for fixing most visible bugs under Mono (for Linux and Mac users). I will now start a new retesting of the all the features before releasing the 1.7.1. I'm interested by linux users who would like to beta test the 1.7.1 beta under linux. Please contact me if you want to try it. I may have some Mac users, but if you are a Mac user and want to try too, please contact me. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure, but I don't think so. I don't manage closely the part library, I focus mainly on the code.

I just finished to implement this feature, so it will be in the 1.7.1. I will try to release the 1.7.1 very soon. Normally I won't add any new feature (except the one I just mentioned) but only bug fix. I've already fixed 11 bugs including 4 crash bug whose one is very critical (cannot save in LDRAW format).
-
Yes, that's a cool feature, I will probably extend the Part List Window to do that. For now, you can use the Part List Window and check manually if you go above your stock (uncheck the "split by layer" option in the bottom of the window).
-
Sure, that's a good idea! I will add that soon.

Hi Linux (and Mac) fan, I've started to work on the Mono compatibility, and already solved the drag'n'drop problem from the part library (main problem under Mono). I'm also redesigning some windows that doesn't work under Mono. I think I will release a 1.7.1 with all the Mono issues fixed (at least those I can find), and some other cross platform bug fixes, but without any new features. Hope you'll like it. Thanks.
-
I'm far from being a linux expert... so for now I only plan to work on mono compatibility. So I guess the answer to your question is no. sorry...
-
@Captain J: This is a standalone software, you don't need Adobe to use it. @clcwong: I think I will work on mono full compatibility for the next major release, so yes, it might happen in something like several months maybe

Then why not using a normal curve geometry? When using a flex chain, BlueBrick try to satisfy the connection constraint and for that it needs some freedom about the placement of the flex parts. I'm actually pretty satisfied with the result I got with the flex feature. I would have expect even less control. If you want to place every flex track in a normal circular curve, you can also place the parts under MLCad/LeoCad (very tedious work I think) then import the file in BlueBrick and do some copy paste from there.

Hi, 1 stud = 8 pixels. For more details, I strongly recommend you to read the documentation if you want to do your own parts. Thanks.

Indeed that's really a good news if the XP64 crash bug cannot be reproduced in 1.7 Does any of you has any comment on the new features of the new release? Do you like them?
-
Yes, it seems your file didn't download correctly. Please try to download it again. After putting the new version online, I've ask Alex to check if the zip file was correctly uploaded to my website. And thanks Snapshot for confirming this. Thanks ZueriHB for having sent me your file, this allowed me to find one more bug. The fix will be available in the next version for everyone (but I've sent you a new version in private mail).

Many thanks! Please send me your email in Private Message, I will then send you the localization kit with the new texts to translate.
