Petition: We want the Pirates Advent Calender in the United States
Eldervampire replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
It is horrible that the only calendar we are offered is the City, while other countries have castle and pirate options. Signed -
THE OLD Official Eurobricks Straightshooters List
Eldervampire replied to The Middleman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I'd like to add Etzel, to the SS list. Great communication and quick shipping. He shipped me Firehand from the Agents theme, and I shipped him 1 Hermione and 1 hunchback head with a Bbaloo torso. -
My 6990 Monorail Transport System + extras arrived!
Eldervampire replied to ParallaxScroll's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
That is awesome. Can't wait to see the layout. I'll eventually get a monorail once the econemy gets better over here. Congrats, and cheers -
I remember having some of the classic sets as a kid, but got pulled away by SW toys. Then GI JOE. Here I am 30 years later, I bought some HP sets and the "Monsters" from the studio line. They've sat in storage since 03, then I saw Space Police III in toys r us. Done!!!! I bought the Hyperspace set, and am currently trading all my HP and ninja stuff to fund my my Space City project. In short, Space got a whole lot better, at least IMHO. Skull Twins FTW Michal

The Penguin's Dwarven Archaeology. )
Eldervampire replied to The Penguin's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hey Penguin, First, the Dwarven adventurer, awesome. Good designs and excellent humor. I normally root for the undead, but for you I'll make an exception. Also I hit up some of the links in your sig. MAN! You have got some great skills and obviously loved B:TAS. I doff my hat to you sir. -
I can't say I'm a collector, I have some lego, but not a whole bunch. I haven't been into MoCs yet, but I have some ideas that are rolling around in my brain. I create a persona that represents myself and my wife and daughter. As a child I played and pretended, as an adult I don't have much time, but I create stories in my head of the adventures they have. I would love to play, and hope to soon. Something for all of us to consider are the words of old Asian wisdom, "We don't stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing." I can't remember who said it or when, but it makes sense.

Very nice ship you have there. I like the way you designed the intake for the boosters.

Great review , well done photos and well thought out and humorous script. Well I have no shame in admitting that this theme and this set specifically, got me back into Legos. This is the first set I have purchased since 03'. I purchased this set Friday and came back to this review to see how it measures up to my own opinion. Pretty dead on. The missile launchers are very solid. The figs are awesome, and the Police cruiser is way better than I had originally thought. I rated it 4/5. Why? Two reasons actually..... 1) Try and get the Officer out of his ship, you either need a brick separator or claws to do it. I love the use of a skelly leg in his yoke, but combine that with the canopy issue and you soon get a frustrated 7 year old. ( I did) I am searching BL now to see about a hinged canopy replacement. 2) The generic space police officers tick me off in this line. Here in the States, we tend to glorify criminals. (Scarface, Al capone, any Serial killer.) TLG, seems to follow suite here. I have no issue with the criminals getting identities. But the theme seems to be, about the adventures of the Black Hole Gang and the nameless coppers out to stop them. I will say that despite the problems stated above, this is the first time a space theme of any sort has caught my eye. I can appreciate that TLG seems to be moving toward a "Space City". Both ships are of a solid build, took a decent amount of time to build and were fun to build. All-in-all a good solid purchase. Michal

I sent you an email

I've gotten a couple of offers for cash, but I'm really only interested in trading, especially in the case of folks from over seas. I live in the States) I can't email you, as until you make 10 posts your PM isn't active. But you can make offers here if you like. I check here everyday for Pms and the like. I also will be offering up most of my Harry Potter collection for trade as well. All are used, but in perfect condition. complete and with good to perfect instructions. Thanks for the interest everyone. Cheers. Mike

They are back ordered until sept 23rd on that set. To the OP, myself, I'd go for the Indy set. Try this, flip a quarter. It sounds stupid, I know but look at it like this. If you say heads indy & tails drawbridge, and it comes up tails, will you do it. If yes then no problem, if not then you have already made up your mind. Honestly they are both nice and either would be a good choice. Good luck and may the Bricks be with you padawan.

I'm not sure if I'll get that one. I wish we could get someone to comment on whether or not the line will continue into 2010. That way I know if I need to get a few sets, or buy a SHLOAD of them to compensate and make all of my SP hopes a reality. HMMM....Galactic Bounty Hunter from a skull Twin........

What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Eldervampire replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well, I don't have any "new theme" to suggest. But in the new Space police line, there is room for expansion if they carry over to 2010. 1) The Diner from the mini-movie , log #3 2) A new mono-rail using the power functions to help off-set cost 3) Perhaps since it is more like lego city in space, a few elements like world city. A police station and Taxi stand for example. -
Greetings and salutations ! That is an impressive array of ST Legos my Aussie friend. Welcome, we're glad to have you.

WOW ! I MEAN IT, REALLY WOW. Excellent development. You could see in the original you had more in mind for this. But in no way did I see that coming. Great job. Both your MOC and you skills leave me in awe.
-
Sent you a PM, just let me know when you get a chance. Michal

Bravo, I can only hope that when I get time to build my MOCs they look as good and are as functional as this. Again, bravo, Sir, Bra-vo
