Where have all the pirate sets gone in Australia?
Edgehead replied to Melbourne pirate fan '87's topic in LEGO Pirates
i went down to target again to day as well as a few other stores and it would seem that here in oz at least power miners seems to be the in thing as far as lego sets go right now. all the stores stock the gimmicky stuff like star wars, indiana jones and bionicle as well as the classic town/city lines. maybe the other lines; pirates, castle, power miners, space police, etc work on some sort of rotational system. -
very very nice michael, this looks fantastic. and the belt holding the flintlock and cutlass is just genius i am currently working on a custom torso for my sigfig to replace the brickbeard one, hopefully it turns out as good as this

Im in Newcastle and Im having the same problems. Target is the only store that stocks the pirates line and they dont have the Shipwreck Hideout and Loot Island sets as you said. More so they seem to have not restocked the pirate lines at all since the big toy sale ended about 3 weeks ago, which is almost criminal. And to make matters worse none of the staff members there know when/if they will be restocking. Seems like the only way to get these sets is buying them online -
this is sooooooooo cool, makes me want to go out and buy a remote control boat lol very simple but very awesome

These look great! I love the plumes on the hats, very realistic. also what is the piece used for the bayonettes?

Nice ship, very simple but effective tecniques used. I like the small deck at the stern of the ship with the rotating cannon, looks very good. Yes it may be stubby, but anyone who knows anything about orcs; be it from Warcraft, Warhammer, LoTR or anywhere else; the stubby style of this ship really suits the orcish crew, very well done.

Great technique on the water, looks so realistic I was gona say it reminds me of a gingerbread house, but this is just too funny Joey

Cant remember how old i was (was when i was young tho, probly 7 or 8) when i got them but i got 6270 Fobidden Island for my Bday in June and then for christmas i got 6286 Renegade Runner the same year.

This is huge!!!!!!!!!! I dont want to even begin to imagine the cost involved once its finished. Taking on such a huge project show great dedication and i cant wait to see the finished product. Just a question, how do u get the yellowed finish on the white bricks? Do you have a technique you use to "weather" them or do you just buy craploads of bricks and hope that they arrive in various states of wear and tear?

St. Elizabeth Parish Church - Port of Brick Royal
Edgehead replied to Commodore Hornbricker's topic in Pirate MOCs
to quote Captain Jack Sparrow... "I LOVE WEDDINGS, DRINKS ALL AROUND!" This is an absolutely amazing work Commodore. The likeness to the actual church is incredible, very well done. P.S sorry if i double posted (i dont think i did) but i wrote a reply and clicked "add reply" but my browser crashed and when i came back to the topic my post wasnt there -
Always nice to see an Imperial commander show off his army so we pirates can know what to look out for I just hope since my escape inadvertantly free'd one of your bluecoat allies that you would be leenient should you ever catch me

I have found another mistake (so to speak) with this torso design, not so much the design itself but with the references to it in the instructions for the various sets it comes with. They all show this particular torso as having white arms where as it is actuallly supplied with yellow ones. Anyone else notice this or just me....

Hey all, just droppiong a line to introduce myself Im in my early 20s from Newcastle, Australia. Like most kids i always enjoyed lego and the pirates set were always my favourties Ive been a great fan of anything piratey (is that a word?.. probly not) since seeing the first Pirates of the Caribbean film and upon rencently getting all 3 movies on DVD for my birthday it inspired me to dig out my old pirate lego sets. Unfortunately there were many missing/damaged pieces and i happened to stumble apon thios site while looking for places to buy replacements. I play alot of World Of Warcraft, and this is where the name of my sigfig Edgehead comes from; he is also my main WoW character, and like all my major toons he is aligned with WoW's resident pirate faction, the Bloodsail Buccaneers. The name Edgehead itself comes from my intrest in professional wrestling, as my favourite WWE superstar Edge often refers to his fans as edgeheads. anyway thats all i can think of for now, so im goin to go back to patiently waiting for my Skulls Eye Schooner to arive that i bought on ebay a couple of weeks ago (heres hopin its just over the horizon)

Now taking YOUR ideas for the future of LEGO Pirates theme
Edgehead replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
I think the most obvious thing that is needed next in the pirates line is a ship for the Imperals to combat the bounty, they really need a bit more than just rowboats. While bluecoats would be cool i think they need to stick with redcoats for at least one more release. -
Nice work, always great to see what inventive minds can do with LEGO sets One comment i might add tho, you should get a donkey kong minifig to sit behind the mouth to "throw"the barrels out

Thanks for the kind words guys. The dreadlocks under my sigfig's hat are made from small strips of the rope that comes with the lego pirate ships, stuck on the headpiece with a thin strip of masking tape that i coloured red. I had to force the hat on a little bit as the tape made the head a bit too thick but i like the outcome. Wasnt much of an MOC for my first post, just added a small dock to the Soldier's Fort set for the purpose of having a boat around to escape on. I am currently planning my first large ship, which will be built on the hull of the Troll Warship, as i havent seen many using this bow piece - i do need to track down a stern section tho, which i hope i can find in the box of long lost LEGOs from my childhood.

Ive been viewing all the tournament of retribution threads quite intently and I must say that all the participants have fought bravely for the honor of their respective coats while dishonoring their opposition. However with increased conflict between the Imperials comes a price, an increase in PIRACY. This is the story of the escape from a redcoat lockup of Captain Edgehead of the Bloodsail Buccaneers
