Sorry if this is off-topic but I just wanna thank everyone here. I started this thread when Super Heroes first became a theme around 2012 I believe, and haven't been active in the community for 5+ years. So it's surreal to see that this thread is still alive and kicking!

Thanks for the response. I'll be sure to check out the convention :)

I've been gone for a while, but I need some lego and I need it soon! I'm trying to decide between the Superman Battle for Smallville or the Rancor Pit (I have the palace). I am a big fan of both superheroes and star wars. Right now, I feel like the palace isn't complete without the rancor pit, plus I could get the jor-el minifigure, but the build and minifigures just don't seem super-satisfying. Then I would probably add on battle of metropolis to get zod and supes. I don't see any point in getting zod armour if he can't have hair on... OR I get the battle of smallville, which looks like a fun build with lots of cool characters, but I won't get jor-el, being as there aren't many small sets out right now that interest me that could put me over the limit. What do you guys recommend?

WHOA!~ I don't see a single thing I dislike about these sets! Each set has so many figures in it that it's unbelievable! So many cool colours and designs, egad I'm so excited for the return of the wild west I just can't contain myself, thanks for the pictures! I'm gonna spend the next couple hours drooling over the. The one thing I dislike, and I hope it's a typo, is that the stage coach is 50 dollars! thats way to expensive for that size a set, oh well, everything else looks like a good value!

Justice League #0 continues events in the Shazam back up story that started in issue #7 or something, so I wouldn't get it because it doesn't hold up as a stand alone issue because it lacks a beginning or an ending. If you want to jump into Justice League though, #15 is dropping in December, and it will begin a crossover event with Aquaman (who is a real badass now) called Throne of Atlantis, which I believe will be preluded in next weeks Aquaman, which should be excellent! Or you could start at Justice League #13 and #14 which began and ended with the secret of the cheetah story arc which was pretty good for Wonder Woman and Superman fans.

See, I don't understand how they can charge 3.99 for only around 27 odd pages. For DC, 3.99 gets you 40 pages adn 2.99 gets you 32 pages. It just seems like more of a fair deal. Oh well, they looked interesting, but I can't justify collecting a book for one character I'm mildly interested in. DC got it right, 3.99 for popular characters in a 40 page book, Batman, Justice League etc. then less popular characters in a 2.99 book, flash, swampthing. It just makes everything more reasonable, but if I'm paying 3.99 for Captain America or Deadpool, it just seem like I'm not getting as much bang for my buck. Nevertheless I think I will be collecting the Avengers when it comes out, cause 3.99 for all those characters seems like its more then worth it!

Did anyone pick up the Indestructible Hulk of the new Captain America from Marvel Now? And if so, are they any good, and how many pages are they? Cause i don't know if they can justify a $3.99 price tag for just one character. This week I picked up Justice League 14 and Catwoman 14, both pretty good issues, and I can't wait to see Justice Leagues story expand into Aquamans' atlantis in the upcoming crossover, because new 52 Aquaman is in my top three right now!

Super dissapointed in CN taking out Young Justice for the time being, it was just getting good, or that is to say, more good then it already was. There are so many moments of OMG's and squeals of excitment that it is super hard to contain myself for the most part. Just the whole dynamic of the show is really making me happy to be a DC fan. This weeks episode was great, and leaves a lot of cliff-hangers, like what the heck is going on with Blue-Beetle! What is the history of the scarab, and what does it mean for the secret invasion. Also, GGG is super cool with Aliens all of a sudden, can you say pod-person? And what just happened to AquaLad? I imagine Megan will be super emotional, well more so then usual. -
I'm pleased to see how many commited Marvel readers there are out there! It makes my job of converting you guys into DC fanboys much more difficult I picked up Batman #13 last wednesday and it was pure awesomesauce! It had me really shaken at certain points. And the ending was unbelievable! I'm very excited/terrified to uncover what the Joker is planning, and how it will change Batman forever! This issue really played out like a horror movie, 10/10 For those of you who don't know, Batman #13 marks the beginning of a new story arc entitled "Death of the Family" not only is it an excellent read, but it provides a perfect "jumping on" point for those who wish to pick up the series. And it doesn't dissapoint at all. Next time your in your local shop, pick it up and give it a try. And be prepared for comicbook history in the making. This week I'm going to pick up Justice League #13, Needless to say I'm excited for the fallout of the superman/wonderwoman kiss, and also more Shazam backstory!

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
sok117 replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Guys, Obviously by Woot's description, he does not know much about the superhero license (no offense to Woot) So at this point, I would assume that Hulk_Smash would be the more credible source and I am more likely inclined to believe his opinion. I'm not saying that Woot has presented us with wrong information, but more so that he is mistaken by what he has seen or he has left out some details. For the most part, I can say it is impossible for TLC to alter the catalog, then redistribute them within a week or so, just to change minor details of a few sets. The retailers know that the sets are preliminary and licensed to change. You guys are reading into it way to much. Just sit back and wait patiently for some concrete news. -
I think with the new sloped pieces avaliable, it would be an ideal time to re-release the Bespin Cloud Car. It would look great with the pieces from the City Airplane sets that just recently got introduced into Star Wars as the nose piece from the new Desert Skiff. Comes with Bespin Lando, Bespin Guard, Ugnaught and 4-lom or Zuckuss. Priced at around 29.99

Jabba's Palace and R2-D2. The Desert Skiff is all that's left, then I'm done for Summer. New resolution is to only collect OT!

Jabba's Palace and R2-D2, my new desk buddy! I also got a jam-packed large pick-a-brick cup!

Ever since I saw the Avengers, I knew I had to build a Shield Helicarrier. And Once I built that Helicarrier, I knew I needed to build a Chitauri Leviathan to go with it. And without further delay. I present to you my Shield Helicarrier. Helicarrier Battle! by sok117, on Flickr Expect more pictures soon to show off the interior as well as a few more detailed shots of the entire moc, but now just a little action scene to wet your whistle. Comments and criticisms appreciated AVENGERS ASSEMBLE! -Sok117 Edit: And of course, I spell Shield wrong in the title, could a mod change that please?

Has anyone else noticed the gap in the rancors teeth? Well, I think I know why that is. It's probably to allow Luke to fit the bone inbetween the mouth when it is completely opened. Rancor Set - 11 by fbtb, on Flickr

I think all the ones on white backgrounds are not glued, but that could have changed.
