Hurry before Lego's secret police take down your flickr account... Personally, I'm crazy-excited to see some pics of this new line.

As much as I would love to see a LotR series from Lego, we probably won't hear anything concrete about it until San Diego Comic Con next year... If this is going to be a later 2012 or early 2013 release then look at how PotC was announced along with the new Super Hero line; and they both had, roughly, the same release time frame. True, Pirates went a little later to go with the movie but I can see this being a major news event next SDCC (provided its for real). I would be happy to be wrong about this and have info on these in the retailer's catalog (if/when it gets leaked). But I do find it very encouraging that there are rumors cropping up about a TT game following a Lego LotR series...if we are going to get any real whiffs of this line, its probably going to be through an industry that's a little more liberal with information.

Well, that also depends on if they're going to stick to their January release date. Most of the time, only half of the releases get saved until the new year and the rest are out in December. Back in February, all of the sets at the 2011 New York toy fair said they were going to release in August and it was only Star Wars and Ninjago that were held until the actual release date, everything else was out in May (here in the States). For me, it would make sense to have the new Star Wars sets come out early, so you could hit the Christmas rush, but I know there's a lot of things that have to line up for a product launch to go off without a hitch.

Yes, we got the Imperial Flag Ship at the end of 2009/beginning of 2010. I like that we've been getting something in a medieval/fantasy/wizard-y, large scale set to kick off the beginning of the year. I'm also in the camp that's hoping for something new and awesome set come the first of the year...

My guess is that these sets Mirandir mentioned might be limited edition sets, that might not be in the same source that All About Bricks has acess to. If Mirandir weighs in on this theme, maybe we'll get a little better idea of what's coming out...but then again, Mirandir might not have seen this section of the catalog (or whatever his source was might not have included this info). But I also know he's laying low in the brick bunker waiting for the air to clear a bit, so it might be a while before we hear more set news from him.

I'd have to go with the Lego Truck: its a good build and its more unique. The close second would be the Marina: its been a long time since Lego has done one and its a pretty good design, for what it is. I wouldn't even worry about the police boat. We get a police boat every ~4 years (even more often when it comes to fire boats). I was sad when I missed the one in '06 (or was it '07) and when I was finally getting serious about bricklinking it, the next one was announced.

I know Mirandir has had some great news about upcoming sets in other themes...has anyone bugged him about the new super hero line? I only read a couple pages back on this thread so I apologizes if its already been brought up.

Well, Mirandir, I appreciate you risking the secret police's wrath to bring the resistance news of upcoming sets. Its nice to get some tid bits of what's coming up while we wait for the next wave. I also have my fingers crossed that you're right and there will be a retailer catalog leaking soon. It'd be great to have some preliminary pics to get a better feel of what these sets are shaping up like. I just hope people don't get bent out of shape because the prelim builds usually look lower quality.

I think the compatibility on the headgear for these figs could go either way...yeah, that is the same hair as the S2 Pop Star, but I think Brickdoctor is right; those heads don't look like they have compatible dimensions with minis. Lego might have just taken some of the 'headgear' designs and cut new molds but, from a business perspective, why invest in new molds when you can just use existing ones... Gah, I wish some set pictures would leak so we could get more information

16 sets for City's first wave sure does seem like a lot...but I suppose we generally get 20 of them over the course of the year. Brickset is currently listing 26 for 2011 but 3 are impulse, 2 are combo packs, and one is an airline exclusive. So if they do more, smaller sets, I guess I can see this happening.

I wish they would do a hospital proper...I know that I have at least 4 kids I know that would want one...plus myself.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
J_Bro83 replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'm pretty sure its the new Girl's theme that might be replacing Belville. There were some pics that just got taken down and, like the other AFOL's, I'm not happy with the Polly Pocket mutants that they're putting in them...but that's for a different topic. -
I'm kind of excited to see a new direction being taken with our standard 1-2 year rotation of fire/police (and its being combined ) but I was REALLY hoping that some of the initial rumors of more 'vehicles' was going to be true (trash truck, ambulance, car w/ trailer). Are these still on the table or were these just only rumors? I thought that all of this news came from Mirandir, both this new ranger sets and the other vehicles, so are we going to see both? Mirandir, want to weigh in? My household is waiting,on edge, for City tid-bits. And is there any news for more Farm sets (whether its some other industry, like the harbor, with a farm logo)?

Wow, hope this is legit. I thought we were lucky to get a retro black falcon and imperial guardsman last year...if this is for real, I'm going to have to chase after all of these.

D2C Designers requesting feedback for 2012 models
J_Bro83 replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
1. No 2. Whole Series 3. The Globe Theatre (Shakespeare's theater, in mini-fig scale if possible) 4. I'd like to see the modular buildings expanded into a school/university...or maybe do a gym. 5. Understanding that Pirates are being discontinued, I would still love to see a remake of the Imperial Trading Post using a much large footprint and 2000+ pieces. OR, I think most fans of the town/city series are really waiting for a hospital to be done right (either in the actual City theme or as a larger set). And last thought, lets see some more collectible mini-figs, like series 3, 4, and so on (along with some really specialty ones, like Marvel characters now that Disney owns Marvel). -
Petition: We want the Pirates Advent Calender in the United States
J_Bro83 replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
I whole heartedly agree with everyone else. I think its a crime we didn't see a full release of the Castle Calendar last year and, again, we're getting left out on the Pirate Calendar. I would love to see a US release. We're your best market for everything else, Lego, don't forget about us again this year.
