  1. Oh man! I feel like a little kid again, seeing all those great sets that I know I won't get! :S Seriously, Agents haven't ceased to impress me. One would wonder how LEGO is going to one-up all this for the next wave.
  2. So did I! Not to say that this helicopter doesn't look good - it looks excellent. Interesting use of pieces, and I'm guessing deliberaly so because it would otherwise look a bit boring. Nice shape to it as well, I would have to highlight the nose as my favourite bit - mostly curved wedges and slopes here.
  3. 6350 hands down - IMO there really isn't any competition against it here. What can I say? It looks excellent, and the van is just excellent - I used to play hours and hours with it, delivering pizzas in my own, small, cartoon-physics world, the weaving through traffic and tacling crosses and corners at 200km/h. That was so fun, I got two, neither of them assembled. Hmm, I should really rebuild at least one of them.
  4. I'm an "economy and administrative subjects" student at Østfold University College, moving into what I hope will be my final year before moving into work. This year I will begin with "Project leadership"-courses, which basically means I'm heading out to companies and actually gain experience within the course - "getting a foot within" while I'm at it. Apparently all students in my line are recruited before they leave school, which is a very big plus (practically beginning the day after school is over).
  5. Like tedbeard, I've also seen in it live in all it's plastic fantasticness. I on the other hand, had it all for my self - even if it was pre-built for display. Let me assure you, tt's in no way a budget model. There details in places you'll never look, the luggage compartment is detailed, and it is just overall nice to look at. Steering doesn't work, as the steering wheel is attached with a click-hinge located somewhere close to the floor. Converting it to a soft-top convertible should be a breeze, altough I'll won't be amazed when someone predictably does so. There's not much SNOT in it, if I remember correctly, but I'd still say it's a fairly advanced build, and something very nice to look forward to. And it'll be a perfect gift to just about any VW Typ-1 fanatic out there, I'm sure of it.
  6. The help is appreciated and welcomed, altough by coincidence neither of us are actually norwegian! And do notice how LW Fornebu not only brought more members to Brikkelauget, but also here. Well, at least made them register - I know there are a few of us out there lurking in the shadows, staring from veiled windows and behind dark glasses...
  7. Started on this last night: I have absolutely no idea what it's going to end up as, but I am aiming towards a pub as per a fellow clubmember's suggestion. And there'll be flats upstairs too.
  8. You know, if Athos hadn't posted this here in this forum, I probably wouldn't have been aware of this new collectors' set. And because it includes figures from across themes (even if this vol. 1 is mostly town with a dash of classic space), I think it belongs here, and not in the space forum. I will be keeping my eyes open for these - I am a big fan of these figures. Not sure if I will buy them outright, though - they are a bit on the expensive side.
  9. If it's the large CITY plane 7893 you're thinking of, then yes. It's fuselage however wasn't just two pieces. Large pieces, yes, but the fuselage was still brick-built. The nose was two pieces, then there was two door-sections, plus doors, three roof sections and five floor sections. Tail is one piece, nose is two pieces, and wings (minus the extensions) is one piece. And then there's the interior, which is built onto the fuselage-floor. Same pieces are used in the cargo-plane, but here the doors are instead fueselage quarter-panels for the roof (four of these equals one fuselage roof-section), which are hinged and can rotate.
  10. It's been removed from the catalogs to the extent that it doesn't even appear in the background. So I'm leaning towards a yes. Not that I want another one. One is plenty, considering how large it really is.
  11. Hi Panda, and welcome to EB. Since you're looking for UCS sets, then I'm guessing this is right up your alley. It's expensive, yes, but all UCS sets are in general expensive (still, they are relatively cheap when compared to other hobbies). If you're looking for older UCS sets, and not just Star Wars (where the vast majority of UCS sets can be found), try out Bricklink (iamded posted a link) where you can shop for older sets - and the more sought after a set may be, expect to pay more for it - like Maersk Sealand, for example.
  12. That video is made from awesome - it has a professional "advertisement"-feel to it, but is very entertaining to watch. Love the cars, love the action. Sweet layout, too.
  13. Nah, Durge74's train shouldn't have any problems at all - to be honest it actually looks quite light, but with a high center of gravity, so it can't take corners at much speed. The engine does look front-heavy though. Durge, I suggest you put the motor up front instead of the back, the extra weight up front will help the motor grip the rails in case you should add more cars to the train. Which would look awesome, not that it doesn't already do so.
  14. Source --- Nice to see a statement about this, and that the new buffers will be fully backwards-compatible. So functionality won't be limited, altough flexibility will be limited, as from now on every train-car and engine that the builder wishes to be able to decouple, needs to use the buffers. Unless you one uses the studs on the new couplers for what they're worth, though.
  15. Wow, LWN must have had some effect towards joining EB. Velkommen til EB, Andy. Here you'll enjoy product leaks, questionable humour and other great stuff. It's a great place, I promise ya.
  16. It wouldn't look good if I didn't wish you welcome here, too, so yeah; Velkommen til EB, F0NIX!
  17. Which is why they're doing videos. Several on the creator team are the voices and hands of the inspirational and instructional videos LEGO have posted on their site. And then, with all those large shows that are taking place every year now (BrickFest, LEGOWorld etc.), who needs inspirational books when pics of the real stuff can be found on the net, and just so happens to look a zillion times better.
  18. So, why not a "What's on your playlist?"-thread instead? Oh, and: Imogen Heap - Hide and seek
  19. Well, my gallery is up. Enjoy the pictures.
  20. What would they have said if they saw us pillage their creations for parts? That's the very first thing I did when I got my bag. And I don't recall anyone taking pictures. With free PaB, limited amount of rare/special parts and a time-limit, who would be mad enough to take pictures? Pity, would have been fun seeing pictures of ourselves grabbing all the free stuff like the vultures we were. Edit: Oh, and I forgot: I also bought a 5522 Golden Anniversary Set - which is yet to go on regular sale. It contains just regular bricks, but one of these is a tan, gold-plated 2x4. I also bought a gold-plated 2x4 key-ring.
  21. With wine and beer across the tables, and a duplo driving school nearby, guess what people started to do. [insert advisory comment here]
  22. Very thought-through and mean looking vehicles you've got there. I can't help but thinking that they look somewhat anime/manga style inspired, with the big vehicles being truly big and massive. They actually look like they belong in their own little universe. You don't happen to have one, do you?
  23. Number three - because it doesn't look like a stylised eight.
  24. Small update: the new train buffers have now been added to LDD. Now I'm curious to how they work, as there appears to be no pivoting function for the coupler itself, for other than horizontal movement. For modding purposes though, the piece appears to be easier to modify to collectors' taste - the couplers appear to be attached with a screw, so losening that will allow for other types of couplers to be attached.
  25. Oleth makes plenty of stickers, or rather, reproduces the logos for use as stickers - you'll have to print them out manually, or get someone to do it for you. As for the trains, well, all I know is that an electrical system switch is announced for next year, along with a new AFOL-focused train set. The new trains might be launched in summer, so TLC may buffer up themselves and their customers (stores, shops etc.) for christmas sales, so in the case of a purge, it might happen around the same timespot as the new system is released. The station is relatively new, though, and might live through on to the new trains, and as such might not be purged.
