  1. I like building houses. I like having the outside appear to be like proper brickwork, in boring colours like white and tan. But I'd like the inside to be more like a normal room, with painted walls or wallpaper. What tricks have people used to achieve this in the past or am I just weird in caring about it? I thought of using headlamp with vertical 1x8 tile for each strip of wallpaper. Seems special-part-intensive though.
  2. Both not in stock any more, but thanks for sharing. Nice one! I bought one of each and also the City Mining 4x4. :)
  3. Am I allowed to necro a thread? Just wanted to say I am a big fan of Lego Friends - as is my 7-year-old daughter, 5-year-old son and my wife. My only two complaints are that there are a few too many stickers in the sets (but that's likely to keep costs down yet still allow nice aesthetics) and that you don't get that many bricks for your money (although they do tend to come with quite specialist parts - e.g. new colours and accessories).
  4. I'm 33 and got back into Lego after my 30th birthday, via the Collectible Minifigures. My job and family keep me pretty busy, so I am mostly just accumulating Lego at the moment (buying bargains on Amazon via brickbadger.com), and then giving sets to my kids for birthday/xmas and at random other times (read: "whenever possible"). I have a lot of unopened sets from the last two years, up in the attic and in wardrobes. My son is 5 and he loves all the super hero sets, which I have bought, but he's only had about half of them so far. My daughter is 7 and is into playing with Lego Friends, but not that interested in building the bought sets themselves, but builds her own stuff to go with it from my bricks. I am mostly in consolidation mode at the moment, trying to organise all my Lego parts, in readyness for starting a town-based project. I used to build my MOCs in top-down fashion, but am starting to think the standard Lego way of having no back is the way to go. I plan to build a hotel inspired by the Daily Bugle Spiderman set at some point soon, most likely from all the parts from the Tower Bridge set I bought a while back on sale from Amazon.it. If someone wants to point me at some more inspiration, I'll take a look. :) p.s. I'm Gondorian because I'm a big LOTR fan. The Tower of Orthanc set is very very tempting!
