    no, what happens is over time the white clutch gear weakens and can no longer lift the front blade due to the weight. I've been experimenting and by replacing the two 16 tooth wheels behind the engine block with 12 and 20 bevel gears (12 on the bottom), it solves the problem and still has an acceptable raising/lowering time.

    Got mine on Saturday, Was a bit reluctant to buy it, but in the end I love it. It is so much better in the flesh than in the photos. The techniques used are cool and that ejector seat is just fab!

    Well got to admit, that I am really underwhelmed by the whole Chiron thing. Possibly because it is such an ugly car, I definitely won't be buying it.

    My Backorder arrived on Saturday, currently about to start stage 8!

    I was originally given the 11th October Date, mine is now showing as "in Warehouse" - looks like they had been giving worst case scenario estimates.

    On Backorder, was advised today that my one was expected in the warehouse on 11th October.

    I eventually managed to get through and backorder yesterday (I was actually ordering from a hospital room with patchy 3G signal!) - no idea how long it will take, but I went through the same process with the Technic 911 GT3 and it was dispatched just over a month after they took my backorder. It would be good to hear if anyone else has heard anything from LEGO about expected shipping of backordered MFs

    So got my GT3 RS yesterday and just finished box 1. I would like to offer up a BIG THANKS to everyone who has posted mods, I implemented the shifter mod (flipped catches), extended the changeover catches, the reduce friction mod (step 5), the gear sequence mod, the avoid red gear friction mod, and the 8-24 engine mod. It runs like a dream!! Stumpy

    mine just shipped too! Hurrah! that's the first bit of the school holidays sorted!

    Completely agree - it was just disgusting though, made my skin crawl at first it was so dirty - dishwasher tablets sorted it! Currently being restyled into a Aston V8 Vantage.

    8448 for £59 (GBP) on Ebay, but it was absolutely filthy and needed two washes!
