  1. Thanks for the FB coverage, very much appreciated! :) Due to my still-going-on vacation almost in the middle of nowhere it's been hard for me to access Internet or have enough time on-line, but it's great to see this warm welcome by all! And thank you everyone for your most kind compliments.
  2. Like discussed in the CUUSOO project description, I suggest printed bricks with window patterns on them (TLG has done that before with their promotianal ferry sets). In my design I've just used certain black pieces stuck inside white bricks to simulate the printing.
  3. That's a good question! I too wonder that...
  4. Around 4,000. Price-per-part ratio would be rather low in this scale, maybe even $0.06 (Taj Mahal was $0.05) so it could cost somewhat near $250, under $300 likely anyway.
  5. Good point to mention that set! I do think the plane there represents DC-3. Not only that it little looks like one, but the Indiana Jones movie had DC-3 in the scene where he travelled by plane. Obviously, TLG made the plane obscure enough so that there will be no legal issues. Plus making it more accurate would have probably meant much more pieces and more price for such a regular playset. Chrome Block City store on BrickLink.
  6. Oh sorry, of course. Ok, changed on all my MOC posts here! I pondered between 1024 and 800 when posting, should have picked the latter one. LOL I may be sort of experienced at Lego building, but newbie here.

CUUSOO description has links to more comic strips, namely these: http://www.flickr.com/photos/51369236@N06/7194572432/in/photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/51369236@N06/7194576474/in/photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/51369236@N06/7194581418/in/photostream
  8. Size and price are hard to avoid with Titanic! Besides it wouldn't be even near many most expensive Lego sets so far, like several UCS SW sets. No new elements, just two things: colours at some places, and then the suggestion of printed bricks with window patterns. Not sure what you exactly mean, the edges of both head and stern are already fenced with those 3mm hoses. Any bigger fence would be way out of scale. Very challenging to make small details in this scale!
  9. Around 2,500 pieces. Note that in this scale the price-per-part ratio is often rather low, like $0.065 or even less. Also, out of that 2,500 a great portion is tiny cheap pieces. Here exact dimensions: All this info is also in the description on CUUSOO.
  10. Good point, no I don't have at the moment. But you can still see it in the video. Thank You for putting this on the front page and for making mention of my airship and Titanic as well!
  11. Yep the rudder turns.
  12. Yes the cockpit windscreen has a more UCS/exclusive style to it than a playset... I went through all the windscreen pieces and couldn't find any that would replicate well enough the looks of the real plane. That's simply the reason. Using some simple windscreen pieces would take it further away from the real DC-3. A possible official set could have another solution. In the end it's a matter of personal taste, preference, and I had to make a choice there.
  13. LOL Yea airship like this just screams "adventure!" That's a good question about the content of the box... I do wonder what's in there. In the CUUSOO project there's a link to another "cargo-carrying" picture with even a more illegal feeling to it.

Thanks, and the lines would have been even smoother if it wasn't for one availability issue (more on that in CUUSOO description).

Not "another", actually this was my first! Yea the sails are custom work.
  16. Greetings! Here's my fourth (and for now the last, I promise! ) MOC posting today. Nothing less but a Douglas DC-3 airplane in minifig scale! Most notable functions are: - The top can be removed to access interior. - The landing gears are retractable! UPDATE: here's pic demonstrating the size of the model: Approximate dimensions: Length: 56 cm or 22 inches Width (wingspan): 82 cm or 32 inches Click this to watch a video demonstrating the landing gears in action. When retracted, the wheels stay partially visible just like in the real DC-3. Would you like to see this become an official LEGO set (well I admit it, probably with much less chrome that is )? The DC-3 is one of my CUUSOO projects! Check it out for MORE pictures (including direct links to my Flickr images) and for more info! P.S. If you really like this, please help me to spread the word!
  17. Greeting again! This time I have only a digital MOC to present... RMS Titanic! Designed with MLCAD and then rendered. I worked hard to make it as accurate as humanly possible in this scale. Compare to the real thing: (The Titanic plan picture above is taken (with permission) from here.) Not such bad results huh? But hey, we have a chance of getting this made in real bricks, for I have submitted this on CUUSOO! Check it out, there are tons of more information and direct links to more pictures! P.S. If you really like this, please help me to spread the word!
  18. Greetings! I love LEGO and I love airships, so what else could I do but to make a Lego airship! When designing this with MLCAD, I first tried to make the envelope of plates and tiles, but wasn't satisfied with the results, besides it would make the model very heavy and expensive. So I decided to make the envelope of cut paperboard: And I think non-Lego solution actually makes sense, considering how the envelope of real airships is sort of fabric. And thinking how the sails in Lego tall ships are usually made of canvas. We don't usually see them made of plates & tiles right? The airship is easy to handle and move around: Very good swoosh-factor, even though airships aren't supposed to be very speedy... Made some minifigs to match this old-style means of travel: The gondola has two doors and two opening wall sections, allowing you to access interior: UPDATE: Click this to watch the video of her flying! Would you like your minifigs to enjoy such a majestic ride? Well you can make it happen, since the airship is one of my projects on CUUSOO! See MORE pictures (direct links to my Flickr images) and more information in the actual CUUSOO project! The whole thing is easily modifiable. For example, the gondola is attached via three Technic pins and one can build almost any kind of gondola and connect it on the bottom of the envelope. The paperboard is placed between studs of 1/2 Technic pins and 1x1 round tiles. One can replace those parts with many others, like plates or long Technic pins, allowing all kinds of add-ons on the envelope (imagine observation platforms or even weapons ). In addition, the final product could come with templates of some sort making it easy for anyone to make their own envelope sheets of whatever color and with whatever decals/graphics. I think one obvious customization would be turning this into steampunk! P.S. If you really like this, please help me to spread the word!
  19. V-W-05C Greetings everyone! We haven't seen too many sailboat LEGO sets right? So I made this cutie and submitted it on CUUSOO! Here some photos! You can see MORE pictures and info in the CUUSOO project! Would you like to have a sailboat like that in your Lego City? Please consider supporting my project! P.S. If you really like this, please help me to spread the word!
  20. How ingenious, LOL! And great build for sure!
  21. Would love to see this made in real bricks...
  22. A real cutie! I like the classic feeling to it. And indeed, using those swords for rotor blades is a win!
  23. This isn't a butcher MOC, it's a killer MOC!
  24. I have the first Sopwith Camel, maybe I should have waited for this one.
  25. Absolutely stunning creation!!
