Minifigs Packet in "Build a Minifig" section
jerba replied to WhiteFang's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Actually, the sign at the BAM says that each BAM box must contain 15 elements not 3 complete minifigs. I routinely fill my box with 15 torsos, or a mix of torsos and hats, etc. I have never had an employee say anything. For example, I've filled it up with a mix of 8 Pirate wench torsos and 7 Dark Red Agent Trace hair, or 15 Pirate Imperial soldier torsos. Lately I've seen a lot of town torsos but also the Red Ninja torso from the minifig collections, Pirates, Black fedoras, and one day I found a ton of the tan Hoth Rebel hats and two Imperial Officer helmets from the 2010 battlepacks. BAM is a great way to stock up on certain things if you can luck into a good find (and don't waste your times on legs, heads, and accessories if you don't need them!) -
Great build. The hatch and ladder really catches my eye!

7 Toy Story Alien Ships at Toys R US for me!
-
Yeah, you need to get that worked out if you've already paid. You probably should have registered online before paying. I would use the 'contact us' button and choose the urgent priority because you're going to miss out on a lot if you don't get it worked out. I'd do it right now, because they may not have a record of you paying at the door if you don't have an account online. I don't know how it works but reach out asap.

Omi, Thanks for the clarification. That makes absolute sense. Follows, if you look at your account page on the BrickFair page there will be a checklist in the middle of the screen that has your Running of the Bulls code. That code will be your entry to the Tyson's store.
-
According to the 2010 Schedule, the running of the bulls is at the Tysons Corner store this year. NOT Potomac Mills in Woodbridge. It is SO much closer. It is a smaller store, but I doubt that will mean less sets available. http://www.brickfair.com/schedule/ScheduleOfEvents.jpg As for only getting one set at a time, I've never heard that before. It is possible, but BrickFair staff will be running the event this year not the store. BF staff will decide who gets in and when according to the code each person receives when they register.

Minifg collectors series 2 pics and barcodes

Great, the Spartans are coming three to a box. Not that we didn't see that coming! But still, disappointing. -
Minifg collectors series 2 pics and barcodes
jerba replied to Superkalle's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah, we can only hope this happens. I'm nervous that we'll see a repeat of Series 1 except worse since people are so frenzied about getting them now that we know they are so limited. I expect more hoarding than before. Hopefully a wider distribution will keep that from happening. -

Just like PoP, I have little interest in the film but the sets are sure to be a treasure. Here is hoping that the license includes the previous films. -

Thanks for the great pics. Nice figs, I have to say. So were you able to purchase a complete case? Any word on how many of each fig are in a case? -
Yes, both Brickforge and Brickarms will be represented at Brickfair 2010.

I doubt your kids will be able to recoup the cost of the pieces they are selling or even enough to buy new sets. If my kids were as intent on selling as you say, I'd load it on eBay with a relatively decent Buy It Now price and when they were away I'd buy it from them. Then I'd have them go through the motions of having them pack it carefully and send it off to an address such as my office. I'd turn over the money to them and let them be happy. The LEGO would then occupy my desk at work, or sit in storage for a while as I slowly put the pieces back into their collection without them noticing. On the other hand, it may be an low cost (hopefully) lesson on cost analysis and to teach them to think things through when they regret selling their creations!

Keep in mind, these are the European barcodes. Americans will have to wait awhile for the US barcodes to surface. -

Oh boy... and heeeeeeere we go! Not again... -
Over the weekend I purchased Battle of Alamut for $49 from B&N. I also got 15 Imperial Shakos at the LEGO Store in the Build a Minifig set. Also, my local store was selling a complete Darth Vader w/lightsaber and two clones (with Comm. Cody Yellow Helmets) for $10 in the Build a Minifig boxes for $9.99, they came prebuilt. A nice find, I think.

Thanks for the review! I love, love, love the dwarves. I am truly disappointed that only a few sets were released for them. Dwarves were the BEST theme Castle has had in years! I was able to get one of these, but regret not picking up two more. A must get, if you can.

I was at Borders (VA,USA) yesterday and searched their in-store database for the Collectible Minifigs Volume 1, they were out. However, "LEGO Minifigure Volume 2" popped up on the screen! None were in stock and it said that they would be available in August 2010, earlier than the September release date. Also, the Borders price may go up to $3.99 as that is what the computer said. Almost time for round 2 of this nightmare, err fun. -
Grand Opening ROCKEFELLER LEGO STORE NYC!
jerba replied to LegoDad42's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thanks for posting the pics! The sculpture is superb and the PAB wall looks divine! I can't to make it up there sometime in the next few months. Its about time NYC got a LEGO store it deserves. I have 4 within an hour drive so I can't complain, but I am excited to visit the NYC store and see the great creations LEGO has concocted. Hope to see you at Brickfair! -
Your entire family will be more than welcome at the event. While it is for AFOLs you'll find that most have their kids tag along, this is an amazingly family friendly hobby after all. Be sure to look at the schedule of events and try to get in the different seminars, brickfilms, and games. If you paid for an entry you'll be able to roam the halls starting on Thursday. The set up is definitely something to see. Its impressive to see people setting their epic MOCs up (especially the huge cranes!). Friday and early Saturday are the best time to browse the MOCs, because the public hours are PACKED and crazy. Plan on attending all the opening and closing ceremonies there are always tons of door prizes. Last year most people walked away with something (from Bionicle to the Carousel!). If you're registered your entered for the prizes. Also, at around 9 pm on Friday night you'll need to make it down to the Woodbridge, VA LEGO outlet in order to participate in the "Running of the Bulls". The LEGO store brings in a ton of damaged sets and sells them at 50% off. Last year was a blast and there was a ton of great sets. I walked away with Green Grocer for $70. Last year was my first time and I'll never miss it again. It was a blast. I really suggest bringing MOCs if you can. People love to each others creations and discuss brick. If you don't have anything, you'll still enjoy it, so don't worry! If you have any more questions feel free to PM me.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
jerba replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
YES! I have personally bought them at Toy R Us and Borders Bookstore. I have confirmation from making calls to other stores that they are available at LEGO Brand Stores and FIVE BELOW dollar stores (unbelievable, right?!). With them coming into stores like FIVE BELOW I still think we may start to see them at bigger box stores like Wal-Mart or Target, but that is nothing more than speculation. Some tips, if you see what you want buy it now, just in case. At Borders you can type 'LEGO' into their public inventory computers to see how many figs they have. You'll see "LEGO Minifigure Volume 1" Those are the figs. If they have them in stock according to the computer be sure to ask an associate. When I went over there they had 79 in the system and they were all behind the counter 'on hold'! The associate was kind enough to let me pick out the ones I wanted (2 Zombies, 1 Cowboy, 1 Robot, 1 Ninja, 1 Wrestler, 1 Nurse). CONFIRMED US STORES: LEGO Brand Stores $1.99 Toys R Us $1.99-$2.49 Borders Books $2.99 Five Below $1.99 If you know of more, please post! Good hunting, and don't forget your barcode sheet! BTW, I'm in the Alexandria, VA area if that helps. -
Thats a nice piece of LEGO right there.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion

The saddest thing about the small distribution is that everyone is hoarding them and I can't say I blame you. If I had a chance I probably would too. The lack of info is killing us because we don't know if we'll ever see these figs again and so we buy them like crazy. I wish we could find out if LEGO is done making this set, if (in the US) Target/Wal-Mart stores may start getting these in the next month or so, if LEGO will be getting more at S@H or their stores. Until we know whats going on these things will never stay on the shelves and people are going to keep getting angry. -

Where does Borders usually keep these? Near the register or in the kids section?
