  1. Oh - I thought the former was obvious. The reason a square tile was used was because the compass never left its square box. At least that's what I always assumed...every time you see the compass in the movies, it's always in its little box.
  2. This (underlined) is the only reason my wife puts up with it...
  3. On it's end to be more precise (I would imagine - just guessing here).
  4. Exactly what I do and in approximately the same volume. I sold 200+ PoTC minifigs alone on Bricklink.
  5. Added a bunch of sets, sold a bunch - left feedback as applicable!
  6. So ... what IS the price?
  7. $30 for a 257 piece licensed set with 6 minifigs is ridiculous?? I'm sorry, but you sound a little nuts... It is quite good for a 430 piece licensed set with (probably) exclusive minifigs. I think people just aren't paying attention to how big these sets are going to be...
  8. Review says $99 USD, not $99 CD In any case, thanks for the review! I do plan on buying this, especially because the wife specifically requested I do (she thinks it's cute).
  9. Wait - $99.99? I thought it was $79.99?
  10. I believe he used these: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=60483
  11. I plan on buying a bunch of smaller sets and selling the figs. It worked out very well for me this year and I plan on continuing next year! I did this by using sales, or cheap Target prices with the POTC sets (4181, 4182 and 4192) and HP sets (4865, 4867, 4736) and made all my money back from selling the figs - I ended up with 40+ sets for free, just with no figs. It was (a free!) and easy way to get lots of gold, skeletons, rocks, castle pieces, foliage, etc, etc. I sold 200+ figs from those two themes alone and only have four left in inventory. I have no doubt (barring super expensive sets) it will work out even better for LOTR. I did this all on Bricklink...
  12. Perhaps an email to his local police station might help? I have been thinking of doing that...
  13. It was nice to see the only 2012 set I'm interested in is $39.99 and not $49.99 as I feared. http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Robbers-Hideout-4438 It's also nice to see this hit S@H before TRU.
  14. Ironically I put a hold on the paypal funds at first and he completely reimbursed me after the first complaint. So, after he explained himself, I sent the funds again - but I have NOT received any items. It looks like I should have left this alone after the first debate. I'm sorry you were ripped off as well.
  15. Hi! While I'm not participating in the guild(s) (due more to a lack of time/MOC experience than interest), I do have a suggestion. If this has already been discussed / planned, please ignore this. I find all these MOCs fascinating - they are well constructed, have interesting story lines and are rapidly building up this fantastic world. However, they are taking over / flodding the Historic Theme Forum. While this is not a bad thing, I worry about missing interesting builds, new topics, etc, etc. So, what I suggest is a list of links to each MOC created by every guild member. Whether that list is broken into four (one for each guild), or one master list with four parts (again, one for each guild), I would leave up to a moderator. However, I feel this could collate all the MOCs created into a somewhat more interesting set up. If this is already in process, I do apologize - I haven't read all the posts in every guild thread. I just thought it might be interesting to have a master list that's not buried in each guild thread.
  16. Instead of the window use a jumper (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3794).
  17. +1 for Roger Rabbit - shipped yesterday.
  18. ... and still can't send them. I do not deal outside Bricklink, Eurobricks or Toysnbricks, so I'm not going to email outside any of those platforms. Sorry.
  19. @RubeusHagrid - your inbox is full, so I can't PM you.
  20. The first post has been updated to reflect what I have available. 1 of each HP fig would cost $2.59 total to ship to the UK (without the car). Would you want the box with the small car? That might make a bit bulkier/heavier.
  21. +1 for charlieboy - will ship tomorrow!
  22. Since charlieboy was first, I'll address his pm, then get to your estimate (I think he wants a Goyle as well). I'm at work now though and won't heading home for a few hours yet, so you might not hear from me before you head to bed (depending on how late that is of course). You'll definitely have an answer by morning however. Thanks
  23. Sure, which ones? It costs $1.72 for one ounce, or $2.59 for two ounces. It would depend on the figs, but I can't imagine 4 figs would weigh more than 1.5 ounces (the envelope adds another 0.5 ounces).
  24. Going to rant for a bit here ... Nothing annoys me more than people making judgement calls without all the information. Don't blame scalpers and resellers for inability to obtain this set. Lego made a coding error back when the first set was being sold that allowed people to buy as many as this second set as they wanted from S@H. This lasted less than one day, but everyone that ordered (not me) received their sets. I know of people that ordered 25+ of this set and got all of them ($10 apiece). 1.) If Lego hadn't made the error, there would have been thousands of these left for this three day sale. 2.) Even though Lego made the error, they didn't HAVE to ship these sets - they could have cancelled all of them due to a website error. Next time get off your high horse and do some research. If you're going to blame someone, blame Lego.
