I have just built The Lego Van and Fires Food Truck. I am quite surprised about the quality for this vehicles. Yes, I said a lot of negativity for Lego City series in this 10 years, but I would say these 2 sets are really good. I would give 9/10 for Fires Food Truck and 10/10 for The Lego Van. Quite impressive, design and the scales are really good

This is the second project in these few years (after the 7-stud buses project) 90s style buildings - with 8x16 base plate So I have used some 2000s style bricks - but with 90s vintage style Lego buildings Hope you can enjoy it First 2 buildings Fresh food market and Music Workshop

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
bright22 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
To be honest, I am a bit disappointed when I see the first "photo" This building is not impressed me a lot. I don't like this type of vintage buildings And furniture store? I had amended the Friends furniture store into my town/city Music store? I may only use the setup for this part and build my MOC. And I am so lucky few years ago when I decided I won't buy the fire brigade. I don't think it's good idea to buy/collect every single modular buildings.. it's not worth for it -
There would be the same if you are in Hong Kong during peak hour (everywhere)! I think the most difficult part for 7-stud vehicle is the windscreen, not roof, because we can use "2 layers" of plates to solve it. Lego hasn't released any 7-stud windscreen so it's really hard to adjust the windscreen in the middle. I am luckily to see someone posts their 7-stud vehicle online so I know how to build this buses in proper way this is how I decide to setup the roof in "2 layers" of plates (upper floor) Lower floor Also yes - you could see I have changed all the tyres to 60407 version.. the tyres for all buses before 60407 looks childish and ugly. These new tyres for 60407 (also we can get it in Speed Champions) looks much solid and presentable. And I don't want to create all these buses to be too details - there would be really bulky - Lego London bus 10258 looks great - however it won't be able to run in Lego City Town/City when we put minifigs - it's out of scale

I haven't posted it in here for long long time I have built so many interesting projects in last 3-5 years I was growing up in Hong Kong so there are so many double decker buses travelling in this city. However, these few years when Lego create some buses, there are using 6 studs (like 60407) Even I have create some 6-stud double decker buses, like this It looks really odd because the shape of the buses are too "narrow" so I decide to move create a new project - to upgrade all my 6-stud buses to 7-stud buses See the sample on the left hand side the 7-stud bus is looking much better than the 6-stud bus on the right hand side Also you can see the interior for the 7-stud bus is far much better than 6-stud bus You maybe wondering why I decide to use 7-stud bus, not 8-stud bus It is because 7-stud wide buses can be still fitting in for 80s style road plate.. which 8-stud wide buses are impossible to fix to these road plates (i.e. that's NO 8-stud wide vehicles in my town at all) So enjoy to see this project

Since 2020, all city series are bad except these sets 60253 - Ice-cream Truck 60271 - Main Square (it's not a good set, it's only just OK!) 30569 - Lego Stand 30588 - Kids playground The rest of the sets are overprice, and the City is definitely going to wrong direction Always Police station, fire station, Hospital Another issues Lego is thinking More pieces = more details = better look .. it's completely wrong direction - look at the fire bridage this year - it's completely joke - out of scale.... how can these brigade are moving around in the city/town It's devasted to see Lego City is in the wrong direction but still some people are "selling" they are good ........... When I started to play Lego 40 years+, those sets are looking much better than what we are seeing nowadays... I am not a person NOT willing to buy new concept, or new type of bricks - I love the idea for Dot series, Friends series mixing in my town/city Friends series is completely KO City series now... How on earth is Friends series is getting better, and improving in this 5-10 years, City series is going backwards and getting from bad to worst? (Plus, I definitely don't want to talk about the new road system since 2021....)

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
bright22 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I haven't said some "wow" modular sets for a while.. finally I can say it for this set.. I don't like the Police station. The 3-block buildings looks so ugly The Hotel looks good individually, however it's looks bad when it's join to other modular, never make sense This one.. it's kind of "back to normal". The buildings looks good, it can join to other easily.. there are so many + in there However as the Lego sets are so expensive now.. I won't buy it until they will have discount in department stores -
Lego City 2023 Leaks, Rumours, Speculation And Discussion
bright22 replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks so much Lego, like the sets in 2022, absolutely bad sets, poor design/repeating design.. I won't need to spend any cents for city series in 2023! (oh yeah.. forget all this sets would be 20%+ RRP than similar sets compare to 2022 or earlier!) -

Sounds interesting for the Grocery stores and Framer Market Van... However since the products are that horrible for 2021 and 2022 (some of these sets sound good for the names), I don't take any hopes for these sets until we would see the real pictures for these sets. -

I think you don't understand what I mean of "childish" As a Lego fans for more than 40 years - the sad thing to see the City sets now, is moving backwards - "Childish" is all these sets looks like it's for 4+, Junior not the one we would like to see for 6 or 7 years old (looks like "Senior" Duplo) That's a photo I want to show in here..... I have no idea why some people are still keep saying needs to take positive for the school set.. oh the school bus looks ok. Actually the school bus is NOT ok. I saw this photo in Facebook market last night and It just remind me Lego had been released a school bus. That's the school bus for Lego Friends 2016, which looks much better than the City one next year. The City one looks like extremely downgrade compare to this one. (That's why I am keep saying that we need to compare City vs City, City vs Town, or even City vs Friends.. otherwise that's meaningless) That's another example, Lego City House 2010 vs Lego City Family House 2021 The one in 10 years earlier is completely beat the new one so easily! That's why I would say, the City nowadays is heading in completely wrong direction and look at the bank 3661 in 2011.................. The new one looks extremely ugly and poor! Police station in 2008, set 7744 how on earth for the Police station nowadays compare to this function, and unique Police Station? The next question I want to ask is: Why the City school is for 6 years old and looks like for 4+ - and the moon base is for 7 years old and looks like the products for 7 years old (and why nearly everyone in here agree the design, looking for this set is extremely good)? Will these sets also saying "City Series in 2022"? If you put more Lego pieces for new sets, needs to put them smarter, not ugly, bulky like what we'll see next year -
Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion

looks extremely bulky, ugly, childish for the city centre pictures... my opinion is completely downgrade from the City series before years 2017 (again, I am compare with City vs City or City vs Vintage Town series, not from any AFOL view, that's meaningless) And the Friends series is running far ahead of City series now............. Only the moonbase sets looks ok -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
bright22 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
If you match this one with other creator modular buildings except The Police Station, you will find out that's a big issue in the layout, The 2nd level of the hotel will have a really small gap to face the wall of other modular buildings. It looks extremely odd/ugly if you put this hotel next to Assembly Square I am not surprised for your point of views, it's totally understandable. I own all the creator modular buildings except The Fire Station and the Police Station. The price could be another crucial issues too, the cost/pieces is really high for this sets too except Police Station. As I said, I won't be against this set (compare to The Police Station), it's only a bit above average individual Creator Modular.. plus it is not so good to join the other creator modular together...... I would only buy it if that's some good discount
