LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
AMuller396 replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I was at my local TRU yesterday in Los Angeles, CA and they had 3 boxes of minifigures with 2 of them still untouched. I decided against purchasing the boxes but was able to get 5 sets out of the remaining 3 boxes. My wife and I spent 2 hours looking and feeling through the boxes to get the 5 sets. We where there at the Lego aisle for 2 hours and no one even bothered at looking at these minifigures. There where some parents who found it amazing that we where going through them methodically. Well good luck to those who are still looking. I hope you will find some near you. -

12V Conversion of Emerald Night 10194
AMuller396 replied to LEGO Train 12 Volts's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Thanks for the info. This comes in usefull if you want to make this kind of mod. -
Ive been on the fence lately on getting a 7676. I think its a real great set. Ive bought one before but not for myself, as a gift to a friend. There have been rumors that there is plan to discontinue this set by summer? Not sure if this is true or not. This set has been on the market now since July 2008, so how much longer till we see it gone for good? Doesn't Lego keep things for 3 years? Obviously I should go get one NOW before its too late. Thanks

As promised by Customer Service Shop @ home June 9.

Read my post. On back order till June 9 according to S@H. Why dont you call em.
-
Just called S@H Bad news is it is SOLD OUT GOOD NEWS is that it will be available on June 9. So its on back order. SO ITS NOT DISCONTINUED YET!
-
I hope this is only Temporary. Last Nov/Dec Cafe Corner was also Sold Out for some time but then S@H brought it back. Hopefully they will bring this back even for a few more weeks. IF S@H DOES BRING THIS BACK THOSE WHO HAVEN'T GOTTEN ONE MAKE SURE YOU GET ONE. If S@H doesn't well go hunt for one ASAP.

Welcome to Eurobricks. The 7740 train which has a yellow red scheme is indeed a very collectible item. the 12V system came in 2 colours. The first was Blue and then in 1980 changed to grey. Both colours in this case I presume yours is gray have the electric current running through the middle of the track. 4.5V used the same track except they didn't require the middle electrical rails. Straight and curve track where numbered 7850 and 7851 respectively. The respective electric rails that could be added where numbered 7854 and 7855 respectively. The crossover you are talking about is numbered 7857 The battery wagons are indeed 4.5v sets. They could either come from set 7720 or 7722 (or something different if you have sets before the grey era) Signal could be 7860 which is very desirable if it still works. For further information you can google Lego Train Grey Era or go to Peeron and check out some catalogues from the 80's Hope this helps

I agree, the least Lego can do is provide the hard to find parts such as the tan windown on PAB. Why dont they? Why are the parts so limited?

Fantastic review indeed. Was wondering if the OP or someone can post a picture of all the Modular sets together including 10190. Thanks

I dont know, Im a bit on the fence with that. Last night I was able to snag 2 Fire Brigades, then this morning when I checked to see if there where any more available it said Not Available. Maybe the people in the know, where able to snag sets right when it showed up on the sight. I hope TRU will stock up before the end of the sale. Would like to snag some GG's, EN's and MM's

First off, forgive me if this doesn't belong in this thread. Lego Store in Ontario, CA USA has a lot of different items on 30% sale. Note that it seems these are returns with damaged boxes. So if you want prestine boxes this is not for you. Here are some of the sets that I remembered: 7676 7754 7675 10195 10178 7749 7207 7208 7632 8017 8037 8039 8019 7748 10198 5974 21005 7198 7199 10193 6753 Hurry cause a lot of people have been picking through them. Walked home with a single 7676.

Just came back from a TRU in Culver City, Los Angeles CA. Home One are 25% off right now till the 12th of February. According to the Lady its a discontinued item for TRU, so I guess they will stop selling them at the store but continue selling them online.

First off, I wanted so badly to reply to this topic. So I decided to sign up. Ive been a long time lurker. I live in the US and have been in love with the 12V system for a long long time. I have a huge collection myself just like Panda's. I started with a hand train back in '81 - 7710 which had the dutch colored wagons, and have been adding sets here and there until I had em all, plus some more. Its a bit more expensive than 9V but hey if its something you like to do, go for it. Dont make money the stumbling block. It will take some time before you have what you want. First and fore most I would recommend looking at Ebay.de. This is the place where I get all my stuff. Ebay.de has all the things you need. Bricklink also have them except sometimes they over charge. Try or if you already know, to learn German just a little, so that you can understand the description of the items. For you since you live in Romania, its cheaper on the shipping side compared to me who lives in California. Try and see if you can get a cheaper set. ie Such ones like the 7745, 7710/20/22 (except no motor). This set is one of the more recent ones and can be easily had. You can probably snatch a used 12V BLACK motor for 20 to 30 euros depending if you can find one on bid. Usually I would look for auctions that sell a mixed box full of 12v stuff and the owner doesn't know if its complete or not. And if you know what your looking for sometimes you can get lucky with stuff you can get. On German Ebay I once got a mixed bag of 12V items which had 3 yes 3 RED 12 V motors in great condition and payed a whopping 57 Euros for it!!! So if your patient and look carefully and know how to search Ebay youll find it. So just be patient and once you see something you like snatch it. Ofcourse the other items are a bit more expensive like 7860 and 7862 and 7866. But again you just need time and patience and you'll find one of them. So, good luck and keep us posted.
