I'm thinkingthat the best option is to map out the studs in the back and make a LDD design and just order it offline. In fact, ill do it right now!

Not much progress but I changed the mast a bit. I removed the huge brown things that lead to the crows nest and took the crows nest off completely to put a Redcoat flag up there instead. Currently I have: 1 Admiral [needs admiral hat] 5 Fully equipped soldiers [all my soldiers have yellow eps] 3 Soldiers needing muskets 2 Soldiers needing Shakos and Muskets 2 Artillery troops [these have red eps and tricorne hats to differentiate them from the rest] In the mail I have 4 more troops coming in in which I will only need 1 Shako and 6 Muskets. In total, I will have 1 Admiral 8 Fully equipped Soldiers 5 Soldiers needing Muskets 1 Soldier needing a Shako and a Musket 2 Artillery troops [these have red eps and tricorne hats to differentiate them from the rest]. When complete, I will have: 1 Admiral 14 Fully equipped soldiers 2 Artillery troops [two men per cannon]. I plan on putting one man per cannon, 1 Soldier on the mast, 1 on a cannon at the front [Which I need to put on there], and one on a poop deck cannon. The admiral will be controlling the ship of course. What do you think? Their weapons will be in barrels round the ship.

I'll try to get some up soon with a small crew, I haven't had much progress but I might try to work on it some today.

Does 8 cannons seem right, or should the ship have more/less?

8 cannons added, unfortunately they're the new shiny ones what don't look as good as the old grey ones

Wow, good thing I'm collecting minifigs, slowly but surely the collection is growing.

If I have redcoats with yellow eps and not blue ones? Also, what if I have spare bluecoats with blue eps, is that legal or am I committing a crime. Just wondering, I wasn't always a fan of redcoats with blue.

Hah if I find another barrel I'm putting it in lol, moral is the key to victory. Also, the ship will have a crew and things of that nature. I'll also be adding detail when the ship itself is finished. That is something I've been trying to figure out. The cabin is still up in the air for how it'll be done and I might take them out, but then again you don't ever want to be attacked from behind because a few cannonballs could take out a mas quickly an leave you immobilized. I might take them out but that all depends on how the cabin turns out.

I'll be glad to meet you at sea, and thank you! Hmm, I'll see if I can make something out of that. The captain's cabin is going to give me many many problems, I have NO idea how I want to go about designing it, how it should look, its size, or anything.. I need to make some orders to get parts to continue constructing the ship.

I'll have better pictures of it when I get the pictures on my mom's computer, the laptop you see is new so I haven't configured any cameras to it but I should have more shots of it next time I work on it, which will be as soon as I can order parts to continue it's construction.

Here's my first ship, still a work in progress. I plan to have it finished sometimes this summer. PLEASE voice any opinions, suggestions, or tips you may have so I can improve and finish this. I plan on having 10 guns, 4 on the sides and 2 facing out the back. It will have a full redcoat crew to run it and when it's done I'll have many images for it, and yes, on a better camera with a white background. UPDATE!!

The sense of satisfaction was one so strong I'm surprised my house didn't shatter. Even my mom was proud, seeing as I'm 18 hah, she'll support my bond with lego until the day I die.

You KNOW it! I have 9 so far, and another four on an ebay auction I watched over the day. Bid in the last thee minutes, the opposing bidders tried to reach my reserve but no deal, reds win again. I have some blues, but red are my primary concern.

Of course! I mean it will be a while though because I need to aquire fully equipped soldiers first! Hah

Not enough! Can't ever have enough. I think I have two red boats and maybe a brown one in one of my boxes, I'll have to look later on, maybe when I'm working on my redcoats barge, planning on having 8 cannons which isn't as much as some of the monstrous beauties on this site, but hey... its my first ship... cut me a break? :D

Last night I think I made a good score, 4 redcoats, 3 bluecoats, 5 sakos, 1 bicorne hat, 1 tricorne hat, red rowboat with two red paddles, old shark, cannon, treasure chest, five cutlasses, three pistols and three muskets, and a large blue flag! All for $24.50! Is that a good deal?

That's awesome! I wish I had more reds like you do, I only have 9, and only 7 are fully equipped soldiers. I need a shako and admiral hat but everything is so expensive and none of my friends have legos like this left =/ Oh well..
