  1. Oh yesyesyesyesyesyesyes! It's about time.
  2. Very nicely done! It has an Exo-Force feel to it. It's a shame LEGO stopped making that theme.
  3. Because you can read this in the car, or anywhere else.
  4. A very happy birthday to all of you. One word: LEGO! I hope you get tons of it.
  5. You're not missing much. It's been since April and they came out with tons of new stuff and they still have not made a new one.
  6. Because in the first three chapters it'll be pretty obvious! Thanks. I'm hoping that it won't turn out to be a waste of my time. Yeah, I know. Don't worry, I'll change it as to not reflect it's "image". I didn't want them to look too professional.
  7. You forgot to remove this. Thanks for the review! This set is just a basic Army Building set, so I'm not really too interested in this. But the firgures are still cool.
  8. Hello everyone! I will be making a series of "Story MOCs" starting July 4th, otherwise known as Independence Day to us Americans. Just to start things off, I will be showing you all profiles of the characters and the main idea/plot of the series. Plot 37 year-old James Grady is a historian and a writer of many historical books. He currently resides in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, and he writes also for the Salt Lake City Tribune, mainly on the rarely-read Historical Facts section. He has until July 14th, 2009 to turn his section into a success or the paper is going to lay him off and remove the Historical Facts section from the paper all together. The next day, James meets a man that claims to have a clue that has been passed down in his family for generations, a clue that could lead to a treasure that could give James the story he needs to keep his job. The clue is an empty spyglass, minus the glass on both ends. This man, by the name of Michael Leighton, says that to finish this clue, they must first find the glass parts that go on both ends. The glass parts were hidden so that whoever found the spyglass would have to complete it to see the clue completely. Michael asks James if he would like to join him and his group of archaeologists, scientists, historians, and plain old treasure hunters on this quest. James agrees, but without realizing that there is a greater scheme behind this journey, and that it could cost him his life. ____________________________________________________________________________ Characters Heroes James Grady A man of many talents, more or less. He knows his history, but mostly about history of the state of Utah. Works for the Salt Lake City Tribune, most likely about to be fired because the paper thinks his section is too boring. He also secretly has feelings for Danielle. Kevin Wright You could call him a geek or a nerd, because, basically, that's what he is and that's just how he likes it. He understands the situation at hand and is more than willing to lend his abilities(Computer skills, geographical skills, science skills, etc.) to help out the group. Danielle Adrianne Smart, feisty, and witty. That's what describes young Danielle. She doesn't trust Michael and has a knack for causing harm to others when they get in her way. She also secretly has feelings for James, unknowing that he feels the same way. Aaron "Kid" Kenton His nickname describes him, he's a 16 year-old high school drop-out, that James meets in a cafe in southern Utah. He really doesn't have many skills, to be honest. Neil "Rich" Richard A rich man, who actually owns both glass parts for the spyglass. He claims that his great grandfather found them in a jar hidden inside a mine in Bullion Canyon, Utah in 1889. He also likes rubbing 100 dollar bills in Kevin's face. Heather "I-can-dig-it" Elwood An archaeologist with a skill for using dynamite. She usually carries a stick or two in her back pocket. She also likes shovels, but they don't come in pocket-sized, so she can't take them with her. Villains Michael Leighton The owner of the first clue, though incomplete, it is likely that it is the most important. He's smart, physically fit, and has enough firepower hidden on his person to blow up a mutant turkey. Also considered a "Wicked Mastermind" by Danielle. Carter Lowell Considerable loyalty to either sides, he can be considered both a hero and a villain. Has basically the same historical knowledge as James. Conrad Garrett Loyal to Michael, he's good with a gun, and can move quickly. Ed Hamilton He's just in it for the money. He will do whatever it takes to find the treasure, even if it involves killing everyone else. Lionel Manfred He wants fame and money. He plans to open a chain of hotels when he's rich, and finally eat lobster every 4 hours. Malcolm "Mack" Parker A truck driver, thus earning him his nickname. He is trustworthy, and tends to be a bit of a suck-up to Michael. ________________________________________________________________________________ Thanks for reading, and be sure to look out for the first chapter on July 4th! -Striker EDIT: I made a "flier" of "info". Those pictures of the real mine are from a real place where I got inspired to do this. The name of this place will be revealed when the characters get to that point in the story.
  9. It's a tad odd, but very interesting. Same as Mr. Fruits N' Veggies that you made a while back. Nice MOC, SirNadroj!
  10. I have Clone O'Patra, Erdbeereis, and VBBN to thank for that.
  11. Case closed. Thanks, Staudie(... ) and prateek. It would be nice if someone could close this now. Thanks!
  12. I could figure out that much. As you probably can tell, I want to know where it's from and whether or not it was something special. EDIT: I can't seem to find it on BrickLink.
  13. Thanks, and it's totally worth it. Let me guess, um, Temple of Doom? Thanks! And yeah, I think white and lime are a great combo, too.
  14. I found this at a thrift store a few years back, and I'd like to know where it's origin was from. Perhaps an event or something of the sort? It's a Soccer ball. Or to our European friends, a football. So, does anyone have one of these, or better yet, does anyone know where these came from? Thanks! -Striker
  15. ... Sorry, just imagining what a Fabuland-esque Mos Eisley Cantina would look like. Cute, CopMike, very cute. And creative as well.
  16. Same here.
  17. I was joking. I hate the bright blue, too. I was just showing an example of "Standing out"
  18. If you're referring to me, I apologize. Thanks, both of you.
  19. I honestly am not bothered by it. In fact, it's good to stand out. See what I mean?
  20. I wonder what uses my name. Probably common, no?
  21. INDEXED Hello everyone! Today I am writing a review of the new LEGO City set, 7639 Camper. So, let's begin, shall we? 7639 Camper Name: Camper Theme: City Year: 2009 Pieces: 165 Minifigures: 2 Animals: 1 Price: 16.99 USD | 29.99 AUD | 19.99 CAD | 13.69 GBP BrickLink Peeron Brickset LEGO.com Chapter 1: The Box So, we'll start off with the box. Front Pretty cool, and the colours really catch the eye. Lime and white green was a brilliant color choice, IMO. Back Some cute little pictures showing the features of the toy, such as the minifigures catching some "Z"s, having a fish fry, and going for a bike ride. Top Our two minifigures, and their accessories. And the usual picture of a minifigure that's "Actual Size". And LEGO also gave us this on the back: "Divided into sub-models for easy building an instant play" And it's in three languages as well! I'm pretty sure LEGO has been doing this sign since about 2005 or 2006, but there are only so many sets that can be divided into sub-models. Chapter 2: The Loot Contents Pretty good deal for $16.99 USD. DSS(Dreaded Sticker Sheet) Most are easy to apply, but I had trouble with the stripes that go on the canopy piece. (Paradisa, Paradisa, Paradisa! ) Instructions The instructions, in all it's fifty-five page glory. Not bad. Random Page This page shows the seats and the table being added. *snaps fingers* Okay! So, I bet you'd all like to see what kind of pieces we get, right? Bag 1 A mixture of lime, light and dark bley, white, and some yellow and blue mixed in there. Bag 2 Mainly white and lime. I can barely handle much more lime green. Most of the pieces are simple, and nothing special, but I found some POI(Pieces Of Interest). Do you see that?! An actual correctly printed lipstick female one-sided head! And other than that, there's some trans-orange and trans-red 1x1 plates, some 1x1 bricks with a horizontal clips, a white canopy, the return of the left and right classic doors, a newer fish piece, and a new reddish brown Female hair piece! I'm really happy, I got my first canopy/roof piece, some sweet new minifigs, and a couple new pieces I could probably use if I had the guts to take 'em off. Chapter 3: The Minifigure(s) Front And their grill and dinner. The female minifigure as two new parts, the torso and the hairpiece. The torso is quite detailed, with the little star pattern and such. The male minifigure has no new parts, but I always love getting some more black Agent Chase hair. How many is that now...? Oh, yes, four. Back As you can see, the male minifig has no back printing, and the female minifig does, but it's not much. Chapter 4: The Build The build is quite interesting and simple, actually. See for yourself! Step 6 Step six has the wheel connectors mounted with some misc. colored plates here and there. Step 12 Step twelve has the seats and a table mounted as well as some white inverted 1x2 slopes. Step 18 Step eighteen has the doors, lime green tiles, and two 2x3 white slopes. There's a total of 19 steps in bag 1. Doors How nice of LEGO! They even put an "L" and an "R" to help out our minifig's who can't tell their left from their right! Here's our little couple, awaiting the completion of their Camper. It's up to you! I can just hear the little man yelling "Hey!" With sides attached, we're almost done! And I have one complaint... ... Why couldn't LEGO have given us the return of the lime green 1x6 tile, which we last saw in 2004? It would have been nice to have that part again. Chapter 5: The Completed Set Now, to the final chapter of our review, the completed set! Completed: Hooray! Our little couple is very happy to finally have their Camper! What do you say we look at some more pictures of the set? Accessories A surfboard and a bike(Quite rare now-a-days.)! I am really happy to have another surfboard, the last time I got one was in 2004 in an Island Xtreme Stunts beach lookout post thingy-ma-doodle. Cab It's quite spacious inside, I'm really disappointed that LEGO doesn't make the inside of their cars more realistic, maybe something along the line of decorated tiles with gauges and such. See what I mean? It's way to simple inside. Inside Our minifigures are enjoying a nice meal. I understand that it was hard for LEGO to fit a lot in a little car, but they could have added a tad more than just a table and two chairs, IMO. And other than that we have a frying pan on one side, and a second red cup on the other. And we also get a teeny little television sticker on a light bley 2x2 tile. A close-up of the Television sticker: Pretty detailed for a sticker, if only LEGO actually made that torso. The closest I could find was this, but it doesn't look as appealing in blue as it does in lime green. Sleep Space *she-snore* It's spacious, just like the cab. It's pretty cool to include something like this, and it adds to the build quite nicely. It would have been nice if LEGO even included one of the old 2x2 white slopes with the pillow printed on it from ye olde Knight Bus. Overall shots Front A total of seven studs wide. Not bad! Some crazy other view, a view of both the left and front at once. Left On the left we can, uh, basically see everything you can on the right. The two trans-smoke window pieces and the accessories on top. Right See? Back On the back we see a dark bley grill being used as a ladder, a license plate sticker on a white 1x3 brick, and a litght that holds the two doors together. _________________________________________________________________________ Summary Playability: 9/10 - It's very easy to have hours and hours of fun with this, cool features, and the minifigs can go surfing, or biking! Price: 8/10 - It could have been a few bucks cheaper, but it's worth it. Design: 10/10 - Perfect! The flip open back is genius, and so is the little space for sleeping. Minifigures: 8/10 - The only minifigure with any new parts is the girl. But the new hairpiece is what makes the minifigure level so high. Parts: 7/10 - Nothing really too new here, but the colours are pretty good. Lime and white go great together! Vroomability: 7/10 - It "vrooms" like any other medium sized car, no difference. Swooshability: 2/10 - To put it frankly, this vehicle should stay on the ground. The only "wings" this thing has is the flip open sides. Overall: 9/10 - A nice, solid, vehicle with lots of playability. A high "Playability" level, a medium "Price" level, an outstanding "Design" level, a normal "Vroomability" level, and a horrid "Swooshability" level. A highly recommended set, with some interesting parts, and some useful parts, with some lime mixed in there. The Paradisa-esque sticker is a blast from the past, and quite interesting to see on something like this. Anyone notice how this year, the designers at LEGO have been including little "easter eggs" in their sets? The Blacktron graffiti in Space Police, the Paradisa sticker in this set, the new torso design on PAB and the new Agents set, and there's probably others, too. What are we gonna see next, Fabuland? (I only wish. ) Overall, I would say that if you can pick up the set, than you should. Thanks for reading! -Striker
  22. Looks alright, but like everyone has debated, it might be too small for most people under the age of ten to wear. I wear a "man-bag" all the time, I carry the mail in it, I put books in it, everything. They're really useful!
