  1. I see plenty of room in the cockpit for a minifig.
  2. To me it looks almost identical to the standard Tie Interceptor except in all grey, which I like, being that blue was never really used on these ships in the movies. I think the color change looks good.
  3. I know this is a tad off topic but will you jump into this thread and let us know how you got them. Where you there, or have you bought both of them via ebay/bricklink.
  4. Excellent review, the only thing I'd like to see is a nice white background, but that's just me. This looks like a sweet little set, simple but fun. This is the first time I've seen scorpions too, I know they are probably in other sets but they are new to me.
  5. OMG, those are awesome, it would be sweet if their legs moved and they could stand up.
  6. LOL, not even 2 months, I'm not on any mission here, if it happens, it will happen when it happens. I appreciate you saying that, it means a lot. But I would never expect something like that, if the staff asked for my help, I'd be happy to, but looking past my post count, I am a pretty new member still. I just like the forum, and my posts show that, as long as I'm the center of attention again, everyone check out my 2 new reviews in my sig.
  7. I may be willing to shop for some close friends over seas.
  8. Nice tutorial, some simple rules to keep figs looking good, I think this is a good idea.
  9. I picked up 30050, and 30051, reviews are in my sign.
  10. I like it, I agree it could be taller, but it still looks good like this. You managed to make it look old, nice work.
  11. I've messed a few times, but I think its always my fault, misreading the instructions.
  12. Awesome moc, I really like how accurate it looks. The proportions are just right on. Also the way you did the skirt is just smart Great job.
  13. Cool, I've never heard of this Max fig, but I'm sure it'll run a premium.
  14. Thanks guys, it's nice to do a review again, it's been a while.
  15. I agree the X-wing is the superior set, but when they are both available, I had to get them both.
  16. I went to my Local target with the intent of buying 8038 Battle of Endor, but they were out, and for some reason I remembered seeing the two Easter polybag sets in the SW forum, so I ran over to the Easter section and low and behold, they were there, so I present you a small review. BASIC INFORMATION: Set Name: MINI X-Wing Fighter Set Number: 30051 Number of Pieces: LEGO bag 61, Bricklink 61 Minifigs: 0 Price: $3.49 Theme: Star Wars Year Released: 2010 RESOURCES: (high res pics removed due to Flickr limiting accounts to 1,000) THE REVIEW: The Bag Front: The mini X-Wing in all it's glory, except for the fact that it's in a polybag. I much prefer the sturdy boxes as opposed to these bags. Back: Are you a member of the LEGO club? If not here is your chance. Instructions Front: Identical in size to the instructions in set 30050 we have a a single piece of paper for the instructions. Back: 15 steps and you're done, and what a good looking model. Use code EAS10 when signing up for the LEGO club, not sure why, but you had better do it. All Pieces: Not a bad amount of pieces for $3.49, I like the two silver round studs as well, not sure that I have alot of those. Extra Pieces: Wow, thank you LEGO piece sorting machine. Completed Ship front: What a sweet looking mini. This reminds me of the quality of minis I've come to expect from Legostein, who is a master of mini building, I wonder if he sold a design to TLG? Completed Ship left: I must say TLG did a good job on the wings and the thrusters for this mini, it really looks accurate. Completed Ship rear: Sweet, an extra pair of binoculars, which if to scale, could see into another galaxy. Completed Ship right: Repetitive, I know, but it looks so good, from all angles. Wings closed: Here we have the wings folded down for regular flight mode. Wings Open: Ready for a full scale attack, this mini is. Totals: Design: 10/10 I absolutely love this mini, it's so accurate (to me), and I will definitely be buying more for myself, to make a small X-wing Army. Parts: 7/10 If you read my review of 30050 you'll notice this got a higher rating, simply because you get more parts, and those shiny metal finished pieces are a plus. Build: 8/10 I ranked this an 8 due to the ease of building, the pose ability, and the sturdiness of the model, it doesn't break easily. Minifigs: 0/10 Hmm, I think I'll leave this out of my rating, it wouldn't be fair. Playability: 10/10 It's a great little ship to swoosh, you can adjust the wings, and it looks great. Although you can't really play with it along side your regular sets, I think most people buy these as models anyway, I still give it a ten because it's easier to swoosh than a full sized set. Price: 9/10 For $3.50 you can't expect much more, especially in the Star Wars line, again you are paying for the design as well as the handful of parts. Still a great buy, and I'll be getting more. Total: 44/50 It's a mini and should be reviewed as one, of course you aren't getting any minifig's, and the piece count is going to be low. With that said, it's an awesome set that I feel is very accurate. I love it so much, I am going to buy some more for a display army, I mean at $3.50 a piece, it's cheaper than building an army with battle packs. The only thing worth noting is that the 4 clear bricks I used as stands do not come with this set, those are from my personal collection.
  17. I went to my Local target with the intent of buying 8038 Battle of Endor, but they were out, and for some reason I remembered seeing the two Easter polybag sets in the SW forum, so I ran over to the Easter section and low and behold, they were there, so I present you a small review. BASIC INFORMATION: Set Name: MINI Republic Attack Shuttle Set Number: 30050 Number of Pieces: LEGO bag 54, Bricklink 52 (curious) Minifigs: 0 Price: $3.49 Theme: Star Wars Year Released: 2010 RESOURCES: (high res pics available here, also by clicking the images in the review) THE REVIEW: The Bag Front: I've never been a fan of polybag's because they are hard to photograph and you practically have to destroy them to get the pieces out. Here we have a nice action shot of the Shuttle. Back: Very plain and no advertising except for the LEGO club. Warning, don't let children play with the bag. Instructions Front: A simple fold out piece of paper for these tiny sets. Very few steps, but that just gets you completed sooner. Back: Finishing off the set with 12 steps, build time should take you no more than 5 minutes, I did it in about that much time. All Pieces: Here is your bread and butter shot, all 54 pieces, plus a few extras, see below.. Extra Pieces: I think for $3.50 this is alot of extra pieces. Completed Ship front: A very colorful and good looking replica model if you ask me, I like the maroon color that you find on the Republic Gunship as well. Completed Ship left: A view from the left side, showing the hinges and one of two single yellow studded tiles you get. Completed Ship rear: Here you can really see the clear pieces I borrowed from my parts bin to display these models. LEGO does not give you anything to display them with. Sad. Completed Ship right: The resemblance to the left side is uncanny, oh look, yellow piece number two! Wings up: The wings can fold all the way up, which is a great touch. It really allows you to pose this however you like, and it's accurate. Wings Down: Here we have the final shot with the wings folded back down to flight mode. Totals: Design: 10/10 It's a MINI, it is supposed to be small, and it is supposed to look like the ship it represents. I think this does that very nicely. Although there is no stand included, the overall design is spot on. Parts: 6/10 Nothing super fancy, and nothing you probably don't already have, plus they are fairly common pieces. They serve their purpose in this set, and that's good enough for a 6. Build: 8/10 I ranked this a bit higher than I think I should have for two reasons. It was really easy to build, and it's fairly sturdy. Granted it's small, I think it's strong enough of a build to survive being knocked off of a table onto some carpet. Compact too, I like the size. Minifigs: 0/10 Hmm, I think I'll leave this out of my rating, it wouldn't be fair. Playability: 10/10 Perfect 10 for sure, it's small, easy to swoosh, and looks good doing it. Now I could have given it a low score since it's not really playable with regular sets, but I figured, it's a MINI and you knew that when you bought it. Use it for what it's meant for. Price: 9/10 It's cheap, no question there. Although you do not get very much for your money. On the other hand, you have to factor in that you are paying for the instructions as well. For $3.50, you can't really complain. Total: 43/50 Not the best score, but good overall. It's a mini ship and it looks great, I really having nothing bad to say, especially with the price tag being so low. I recommend you picking this one up, if you have a Target near you. I think I may go back and buy a few more. The only thing worth noting is that the 4 clear bricks I used as stands do not come with this set, those are from my personal collection.
  18. I love this one.(Far right, top) Reminds me of DragonBallZ
  19. Nickleback - The Dark Horse album. It's awesome for driving.
  20. Holy Crap, did you buy one??? Congrats on the camera tag, you really deserve it.
  21. Very nice, too bad TLG doesn't do stuff like this today.
  22. Ahh, that's interesting, I was curious why they went to a clear piece.
  23. Oh sweet, I'm in, and of course anyone can whack me if they want.
  24. I like it, for some reason I get the effect of wind, it works. Are there more that go with it?
  25. My guess is cost. Not to bash Technic at all, but I have a feeling it is not as big of a seller compared to the regular LEGO line. The cost involved with buying the rights probably doesn't factor in to their budget for developing new sets. That's just my guess, adn you have a good idea, if cost effective they should, because the AFOL's know LEGO best.
