  1. Welcome to the forum, care to share your LEGO interests?
  2. I'm a little confused, you found the 6209 in a local store for $200? I would think if you found that set in a store it'd be discounted or on clearance. Regardless I think the real question is are you a collector? If not, why waste all that money for an inferior slave 1? But if you like to have every set you can, then I think you will want to buy it, as it will likely go up in price as all older sets tend to do.
  3. Me too, I've kept everyone and each fig has its own small ziplock bag, I got 300 for like $3.

Not bad at all, it's proportions even look good. I like your ghostbuster too!
  5. I like it blocky, it is like going back to the roots of LEGO. 15 years ago this is exactly what everyone would be building, becasue all the fancy pieces were not around yet.
  6. That is really innovative. A perfect display box for the collectable figs.
  7. I would love a new accurate tie. The blue never really depicted the movie ships well. With the quality of ships in today's Lego lineup, I know they could produce a better one.
  8. Awesome review clonie, I love the comparison of the older figs. This set seems to incorporate most of what I want in a Harry Potter set, I may have to pick it up now, after reading your review.
  9. Lol, I love You guys. The lulz just keep coming.
  10. Unless a new movie comes out, it will be cancelled shortly.
  11. It'll come I showed these to my wife and she laughed at me.
  12. It may be simple, but you replicated what you wanted, so I'd say this is a win.
  13. $4 is outrageous. I thoughts $3 was ridiculous. $4 is good if you know what you are getting and WANT the specific fig.
  14. I'm ashamed of Lego including the squidman head in series 3. Its worthless, that fig will be the crash test dummy of series 3. The mummy will fit in nicely with all my zombies though.
  15. Welcome to the forum, what a great first post. I really like your collection of clippers, for some reason they remind me of Jack Sparrows boat that he gracefully rides in at sinking speeds to the dock. Great work, and welcome.
  16. There is an old saying. Something is only worth as much as someone else is willing to pay for it. That is how I feel about these. I downloaded the barcodes before I ever bought a single fig, for the same reason as everyone else. But, when I finally found the figs in a store, I bought everyone on the shelf. Why? I'm not really sure, all I wanted was a solid set, but the appeal ofthem was too great, I dealt like I needed them. Then I paid $5 a pop for a dozen zombies. Come series 2, revere is nothing I'm crazy about in this series, but again, I'm up to 48 and I buy out the store when I see, even thought I have the barcode. Its the appeal. I don't even care that series 3 wont have barcodes, it doesn't take away the allure of mystery figs. I am treating these like trading cards, you want a set but then you want more. Is it for braggging rights? I don't think so or else I would be telling you all what I got. Its just the collector side of me, I just want them. Plain and simple. I feel bad for children who are probably missing out on these due to crazy AFOL's . But then again, that's one of the things about being an adult, you get the things you couldn't have as a kid. Sorry, I think I got off on a tangent. Are they worth the hype? I think it all depends on theint of view of the buyer, for me the answer is yes, but its not really me making that choice, my actions decided it for me. And the answer to LEGO is a definite yes due to the handful of us who buyout stock everywhere, I can only assume this is a goldmine for LEGO.
  17. Welcome to the forum, great intro. I hope to see you in the pirates forum!
  18. B E A utiful! You create some of the most stunning Lego scenes I've ever seen. I can feel this scene. The gorgeous house with the supports at the bottom, not sure what they are called but I love them. Then the army of soldiers marching onto the tranquil scene. There is so much to see and it is truley a beautiful MOC. I'd say you've outdone yourself, but this is the kind of perfection I've come to expect from you Sir Cardarn.
  19. These were given out to Microsoft executives as an invite to an internal kickoff meeting for the windows phone 7. The blue tiles represent the default blue icons for the different applications that show up on the home screen of all windows phone 7's. (That sounds goofy) Microsoft had no reason to request approval from TLG because this would be the same as me making invitations to my birthday party out of LEGO and distributing them, without the express goal of profit or any use of TLG 's name without their permission, Microsoft did nothing wrong. Someone on the WP7 team simply likes LEGO's. I think its a fun way to get invited to a meeting.
  20. Like Cutlass said, your attention to detail is great, and I love the moment in tome you choose to freeze the scene at. I have 14 zombies, I think and this is why I got so many. You've inspired me.
  21. Me first and the gimmie gimmies - the longest time. Its a great cover of a classic Billy Joel song, they have a ridiculous band name though.
  22. This is amazing, it is so similar. I'm a fan of the Le Mans series and I recognize this car instantly. Dluders, you've been find some great technic stuff lately.
  23. Great MOC, I like that you were able to create a clear roof for the greenhouse. It would have been fine without the roof but the fact that you went the extra mile really shows
  24. Fangy, this is a picture perfect example of why comes out of the reviewers academy. I love this review, you cover every little detail. This is one of the Potter sets I'm not crazy about but your review almost switches my mind. For me the price is too high for the set, mainly because I'm not crazy about the train. The figs are awesome though.
