LEGO Universe will have a free part in August. The free version will only have access to 3 worlds. Also the game will no longer be in a box, but will be a free download for everyone. The membership for access to everything will still be $10 a month.
-
It says on the page it will be available in English speaking countries only. It also shows a UK flag so I assume it would be available there.

I think I heard someone say that standing back from the ledge before doing the double jump might help.
-
I'm in. My LEGO ID is Bugefun, and my Minifig is Bugefun.
-
It looks like that setting is not ready yet, but you can already use WASD instead of arrow keys.
-
Actually it will, the videos show them doing it.

The only people who have been chosen so far for beta are the alpha testers. They have said they will continually choose more and more people.
-
I think you mean mission 5. And those look computer generated. But they have announced that everything you see in the game will be able to be ordered, including your minifig, but this feature will not be available at launch.
-
When you sign up for beta, the only email they send you is one saying that you signed up and might be chosen, and a lot of people have problems and don't receive it. But it is not important. When they choose the people who will beta test, then they will send them the keys to test.

It took me 2 tries to start the patch, but I think I might have typoed my password. It's working for me.

A link to LEGO Universe beta sign up was tweeted by the LEGO Universe producer. http://twitter.com/therabbitshole/status/8595440966

No. It comes out in the second half of 2010. The timer on the Help the Minifigs page ends April 1st 2010 at 8:00 pm EST, and people have thought that that means the game comes out, even though it has been confirmed for the second half...

There are/were other ways to alpha test. Such as I am a tester from visiting where pod 4 landed. One person got in from sending a custom pod into Bradford Rant. Someone by just posting about video game design on bzpower. Other people I think are getting in by just having some communication with Bradford Rant.

I'm not sure if you have seen these movies yet. http://atlantis.lego.com/en-us/Movies/Default.aspx One interesting thing, is that at the end of part 6, they have different newspapers, and one is called the AFOL TIMES.
-
For them to work for me, I had to put them in all lowercase, and had to remove the period. Also, I think it will finish April 1, at 8 pm EST.

Well now we know who made the trailer. I had thought that it was NetDevil... And it had a cool "behind the scenes" pre-render. And it looks like that company was created in a LEGO related way...

As far as I know, it has always said pay to play. It has said that for at least a year on their site, maybe more, and they never said it would be free. This video series in youtube explains a lot. And it looks like people can type in to chat.

A few questions about this...
bugefun replied to Dark Sword Ragnarok's topic in Culture & Multimedia
They said in a video that they are trying to keep the price reasonable, because they want as many customers as possible. One thing that might keep it down is that they said you will be able to buy any models you create and your minifig. Since they will be making money off that, they should be able to keep the regular price down. -
Newsletter subs getting any love any time soon?
bugefun replied to Johnon's topic in Culture & Multimedia
It said the first to know when beta arrived. Beta hasn't arrived. No one knows when it will arrive. A newsletter will probably say so. What has happened is alpha has arrived. Friends or family of LEGO employees, people in the KIC before Dec. 7, and people who visited where a pod landed got into alpha. People at CES signed up for beta, but were not told when it would arrive, it hasn't started yet. -
There already is on about this, but no one seems serious about it there. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?...bradford%20rant All the pods have landed. The revealed 4 letters each which decoded to ANSWER THE CALL. SAVE IMAGINATION You enter that in on the site to watch the LU trailer. The pod 5 data decoded to: Wish you were here! Hey Nat, Wow! To be standing in Front of the great statue is exhilarating. This is such an important place for minifigs and it is an honor to visit the location where the First Builders showed us the importance of imagination. Say hi to the guys for me. Will write again soon. Flip Nat Exeter S Corps Forbidden Valley I didn't decode it, just got it from someone else.

The ways to get in are to be a family or friend of a LEGO employee, to visit where a pod landed, to be in the KIC before Dec. 7, and to go to CES, Las Vegas, Jan 7-10. There will be more ways later, sign up for the newsletter.

You used to have to be invited to join, then there was a way that you could join by having your parents click a link and send you an invitation, but you had to be under 13 (my brother did this). Then, right after they sent out the LEGO Universe invites, you could just go to the website and get in (I did this), but a little while later, I stopped being able to get in, so I think they might have banned people that got in this way, and also, they closed the parent invite link, and you can't get in by going to the website, so there is no more ways.
-
Well ask them at CES if you are in Las Vegas. Did you get a key from them? No, you cannot upload gameplay because to play, you have to sign a thing that you won't give away any part of the game that you see while testing.
-
Stop spamming, and like I said, it won't work, because they are linked to emails.
-
That is against the rules! and it won't work. Because each key is linked to the email that it was sent to. It will only work on an account that was signed up with the email that it was sent to.
