Well, now that everyone has calmed down, I can speal my bias ; I hope that the liscense isn't over yet, it should at least last one more year for the 10th anniversary. I feel that this theme has given us lots of great colors, sets, and minifigs. However, when it does end, my only hope is that Mega Bloks doesn't steal the liscense.

Ahh... my first set; I was young, probably 9 or 10, and I was at Disneyland. I was really into Star Wars at the time, Episode 1 was just released and I thought it was the greatest movie in the world (how naive I was.) I walked in to a dark store, and on the shelf I saw Lego sets that said Star Wars on them. I was like to my parents, and they got me the two cheapest sets, this set, and the landspeeder. Both are gone now, and the only Lego I have from 1999 is half a Maul fig, and the instructions to Lightsaber Duel, but Clone O'Patra, your wonderful review (and crisp pictures) have thankfully brought back memories of the first Lego set I ever got launching 10+ years of my interest in this wonderful hobby.

How did you like the Clone Wars TV series?

As promised, my end of Season 1 recap: Ambush: 4/5 Good pilot episode with good action Rising Malevolence: 4/5 Nice, small space battle, and suspense while using a plot hole to build a dramatic ending Shadow of Malevolence: 5/5 Realistic (save for giant space eels) and action packed with a few surprises Destroy Malevolence: 3/5 The Confederacies mightiest battleship goes out like a chump Rookies: 4/5 Clones! Downfall of a Droid: 3/5 Good space battle, but goes down quickly, and techno! mind-blowing when baked, horrible in Star Wars! Duel of the Droids: 2/5 Silly silly Grievous Bombad Jedi: 1/5 Words need not express about this episode, only thing saving it from a zero is the big fish. Cloak of Darkness: 4/5 Ventress! Treachery! Escape! Lair of Grievous: 5/5 After watching this again, I now realize that this is a very dark and sad episode Dooku Captured: 3/5 Dooku comes across as a lazy idiot; but pirates! The Gungan General: 3/5 Easily the best (and most mature) Jar-Jar story; and the power of the Dark Side! Jedi Crash: 3/5 Beautiful battle; however, turns into an unwanted rant on the evils of pacifism Defenders of Peace: 3/5 Its true, the bigger a commander is, the easier they are captured by a wounded jedi Trespass: 5/5 Better "social commentary" than the previous episode, and not to mention the beautiful visuals. The Hidden Enemy: 4/5 Not that much to be said Blue Shadow Virus: 2/5 Crazy doctor and some gunship action... but pink gungans and the jar-jar! Mystery of a Thousand Moons: 3/5 Better, with a good part for Anakin and Obi-Wan Storm Over Ryloth: 4/5 Since watching the other parts to this trilogy, I can say that this goes well with the rest of the arc Innocents of Ryloth: 4.5/5 Sad, strong episode, which feels like a real war movie (and a good one) Liberty on Ryloth: 5/5 Great end to a great trilogy Hostage Crisis: 3/5 Dissapointing, but Cad Bane and Aurra Sing! Special Comments on the series: It is sad that the show has to rely on the web comic to explain parts of the story, and even to show some of the better battles I have no idea why there is even bad dialogue considering its not even Lucas writing the episodes Its too bad that this beautiful, yet expensive format limits battles and action scenes to only a few minutes The show needs less Anakin/Ahsoka/Obi-wan centered episodes and needs to focus on minor or even new jedi more Hopefully Lucas and his posse are getting their "fan" input from sites other than theforce.net, however, judging by the recent apperances of Ziro the Hutt and Jar-Jar Binks, I feel that Lucas' quandry with the general population will persevere. Total first season: 3.3/5 -

Well... I feel that this episode was kind of a let down, maybe because I had high expectations. It had a lot of potential due to the overall concept (bounty hunters take over the senate building), but ultimately fell short. I have come to accept the dialouge for what it is, but it was nice to see Anakin and Padme together. After the negative fallout on the horribly stereotyped (and somewhat offensive) character Ziro the Hutt, including him in the show (and multiple apperances of Jar-Jar) proves that Lucas has no idea how to run his own show; and I feel the episode would have been better had it been someone like Wat Tambor, Lok Durd, or General Loathsome who needed to be freed. Cad Bane was awesome and I hope to see more of him, however I feel that he was... underused. The episode did not flow well at all, just jumping in the middle of things, and then feeling either very slow, to very quick with some pointless scenes (did Palpatine know this was going to happen?). The clones and Fox didn't really do anything, they just get blown up or surrender. I also like how some scenes were like 80's action movies (for example, the scene where Anakin is hiding from the bounty hunter and assasin droid.) At the end, I was really let down by what would have been an amazing scene; all this week I have been reading about how ruthless and cruel Cad Bane is, even to his employers; so at the end the bounty hunters are flying away and Cad Bane talks about getting paid. I'm thinking "Oh! he's going to kill Ziro!" but instead, Ziro just wines and the episode ends. One last note; how do bounty hunters get a hold of Commando Droids? Is Dooku behind this? Or does the CIS sell them? Read on: Pros Bounty Hunters! Senators (Organa, Senator from "Trespass", and Onoconda Farr future minifig!) Assasin droids Anakin gets owned! Coruscant looks beautiful with this animation Cons Privacy Invasion act? I wonder how that goes down with the pundits of the Star Wars galaxy Ziro the Hutt Kind of just jumps in the middle of things Dialogue Senate Commandos go out like chumps Anti-climactic ending 3/5 Stay tuned for my end of season 1 recap... -

I consider myself a naysayer, and I feel that I have been very critical of the series; but after seeing the short video a couple posts back, I no longer have a bad feeling about this episode, I can't wait untill friday! -
I could use any Imperial or Armada Pirate ship right now, also, I'm going to get a small Indiana Jones set later.

Liberty On Ryloth Wow! this episode was pretty good, not better than last weeks, but better than most of the show. In order to sum up my point, and since I am too lazy to type a full review, I have a list: Pros: Hyena Droids Smart tactical droids Wat Tambor Battle at the beginning Battle at the capital MTTs! Commando Droids! Freedom Fighters Realistic bombing strategy Windu's matrixish force-action scene at the bridge The fact that they're going to have to do another episode to explain why Wat Tambor is a free man at the time of Episode III Cons: Oddly paced 5/5 Whole Ryloth Trilogy: 5/5 -
When it is finished, what color scheme is it going to be? Straight up grey, or the red-striped open circle fleet colors like we have been seeing in the Clone Wars TV show?
-
Good point, however, I feel that she was best used as a character during the Clone Wars: Obsession comic book series, as in the old series, she was only in the show for several episodes, and she was just a tool and it didn't really show her as an important character, and the only reason i felt she was good in the old series was because of the awesome lightsaber duel with Anakin.

I like the realistic and movie accurate binoculars! However, since he is Bly, shouldn't he have this? You should try making a phase-2 version!

Ah, good, I'm tired of seeing too much of Ahsoka every time she's on screen (isn't she about 14 years old?) Hopefully Ventress will follow. -
Again, to clarify: I know these things! What I stated in my first post in this topic (and again in the second post) is that other people are telling me these things!
-
Ah yes, I also forgot two other reasons why the 2D series was better: 1. Durge 2. Ventress Plus, the new series clashes with continuity so much that I get a headache trying to figure out when this or that happened, or when him or her died, or who did or did not have a padawan, etc.

Even though the animation and design are not as good as it succesor is, the original 2D series had much better action, story, and villains. In the original series, the episodes were well edited and paced, while the battles were chaotic, and the clones actually moved and acted like real soldiers during the battle scenes. Each episode of the 2D series involves a large, important battle in the war, not just a bunch of small skirmishes like the new series mostly is. Anakins trials on Nelvaan during the second half of the series were also a good insight into Anakins personality, and the cruelty of war, not to mention some of . The actions that made Greivous seem like a monster in the eyes of the Republic's citizens, and the exploits of Anakin and Kenobi that made them seem like heroes inthe there eyes are also seen, and once the show is over, we have the same feeling that the citizens of the galaxy probably had hearing about this on the news, excuse me, holonet . Speaking about Grievous, he actually comes off as cold, powerful, and most of all, intelligent leader; not just an asthmatic cyborg who gets awesome battleships flown into moons, hangs up on his superiors, and spends his home-alone time swing around like a monkey. The CIS is actually shown winning a lot of battles (compared to the 3 victories new show), and being a real threat to the Republic, and battle droids are actually plausible soldiers, as all they do in the series is follow orders and kill (as any robot soldier should). The only problems i had with it was that the clones and there personalities weren't explored at all (as the new series tries to do), that there wasn't the blue and grey CIS color scheme, and that it was too short-lived. With the new series, the reason it actually exists is enough to show what the show is like; the original was to show audiences the "doings" of Anakin and Obi-Wan between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith; while the new show seems to exist purely for Lucas and Hasbro to make money (TLC doesn't count as they are not evil). As for the show itself, while the animation is incredible, the actual character design seems wooden and odd to look at (poor Obi-Wan and his wooden beard). We are also subjected to Ahsoka's habit of forming nicknames for her inner circle. Also, the high quality of the animation limits the amount and length of action scenes in the show, most large battle scenes lasting no longer than a few minutes. The 3D series does have high points though, its depiction of the clones, and several episodes (Malevolence, Rookies, Tresspass, Ryloth). However, when compared to parts in the old show such as the scenes with the ARC troopers, and the Battle of Coruscant, no Lucas-made money earner can compare.

To clarify what I posted: regarding the chinese pearl harbor ordeal, if you ask any of the people I live around what started World War II, they will tell you that the chinese attacked pearl harbor, and then we dropped The Bomb on them as retaliation. For the whole Sun/stars thing, according to what these certain people are trying to explain to me, the stars are like the sun [as they are in real life] but are actually the size that we see them in the sky, and the sun is giant [as it is compared to our planet, but not on a galactic scale]
-
A couple of my everyday pet peeves are when: People are dumb (EX: the chinese attacked Pearl Harbor, or that stars are just really tiny suns that only come out at night) People whose political views differ from mine, and regard me as an idiot Little kids When people are mean to other people for race, gender, orientation, etc When people tell me that I'm going to hell When someone joins Eurobricks and posts a thread saying that they have pictures of an unreleased set, and the link they provide is some disgusting pretty daisy site

I chose pirates as IMO they have superior minifigs, builds, and sub-themes. The castle sets to me look pretty bland, and, again, IMO only have a few interesting builds and minifigs.
