I can’t shake the feeling that the horntail set looks a bit empty, so I’ve taken it upon myself to make a small arena mock to display the set in, seeing the mods to the dragon are a huge help! Will definitely try to apply those. Has anyone made a first task moc as well? I’d greatly appreciate seeing some examples to try and get a better idea of what to do.

A lot of cool stuff in the calendar! Love the Hogwarts architect, chess set, new figures etc. Unhappy with some stuff (house banners & tables, reused dumbledore and mcgonnagal) but overall, seeing as how this was a really rushed set, I’m happy with the end result and happy we even got it at all, I hope this calendar continues next year. also, I agree with what’s said before; a Halloweeen decorations pack would be incredible! Pumpkins to hang on the great hall and more food decor. ??

What LEGOLAND Discovery Center? The one in New York?

Have you seen it already? I haven’t found any leaks of it yet...

I think the usc style niffler could be a good idea, maybe have a niffler for fantastic beasts and then hedwig for HP. it could be a scale similar to the porg, and could include an exclusive Harry fig with hedwig and an exclusive newt with the niffler. a brickbuilt bowtruckle could also work.

Agreed, we need a new fawkes and a new owl mold in a flying pose. I think fluffy and the troll would look good either molded or brickbuilt as long as there’s some poseability.

I think there is a high chance of seeing those once TLG circles back to fill in the missing sets from the first movies, however I believe (and would prefer) that the large creatures would be brick built with maybe a head mold or something similar, this would keep all the creatures in the new sets looking cohesive and add to the playability of building and posing them. I’d like to see fluffy, the troll, the basilisk and from latter movies definitely the Norwegian ridgeback and maybe grawp. keeping them brickbuilt with molded elements would keep the aesthetic from aragog, the horntail and the three beasts from Newts case.

I feel like that kind of pack could be very useful for the HP theme, three generic students from huffiepuff, ravenclaw and slytherin, with some small builds for school stuff, desks and books and such. or one for death eaters, or for hufflepuff and ravenclaw quidditch teams!

Figured I might as well make my list since everyone else did. Overall I’m super happy with this wave and can’t wait to get it! 1- Clock tower, such a great set, fun looking build and tons of great exclusive figures. Can’t wait to see it connected to the great hall and whomping willow sets. 2- expecto patronum: such a great small set, Sirius looks great, two dementors, fantastic new stag piece and two good trees to build up the forbidden forest? Sign me up. I’ll probably get two or even three. 3- Hagrids hut: really like getting the two hut look from film 3, buckbeak looks fantastic, looks like a nice build with lots of accessories and great minifigs. Only negative is the price, and the reuse of the hagrid. 4- Beauxbatons carriage: such a unique and beautiful build, 4 exclusive minifigs (fleur in particular looks excellent) and two abraxans. It’ll be good to get something we haven’t gotten in any previous waves. 5- Advent calendar: just the fact that we’re getting this is so exciting. Hope we get move 1/2 flitwick and some good mini builds to go with the d2c Hogwarts. 6- Horntail: great figures. not a huge fan of the dragon design, but I’ll have a lot of fun modding it and seeing all of your mods! Looking to maybe moc some stands and a larger arena. 7- great minifigs! Great price and great set, it’s only so low since the build looks kinda dull(?) I might pick up the hidden side graveyard and that’ll make me like it more, but overall still good! 8- Knight bus: nothing really wrong with it, just not terribly exciting seeing as how i have the previous version. Would be better if it included padfoot. Will wait for discount.

From all the set images and descriptions, I think we know pretty much what will come in most of the advent calendar days. Dont read if you don’t want it spoiled 1-7 : Harry, Hermione, Ron, Dumbledore, Mcgonnagal, flitwick, Hogwarts architect. 8: big tree 9: two small trees 10: presents 11: fireplace 12: table 13: food 14: Hogwarts express 15: house crests pedestal 16: gryffindor banner 17-24: ????? i hope we get some more micro builds to go with the D2C; quidditch pitch, micro knight bus, micro durstrang ship, micro ironbelly dragon to go with the Diagon Alley etc. What do you think??

Do we know if only the US and Canada are getting the sets in August? Is there any word on when the release will be in places like Mexico/South America/Asia?

It still appears as out of stock for me... did they really run out again that fast? luckily I did manage to snag one last time they were available online, but I wanted one to keep sealed. Next time I guess.

I found it odd how the clock tower is Yule ball themes since that building is so often associated with POA, but I’m glad it’s Yule ball themed since we get those mini figure variants that we might have o it got in a cmf series, otherwise it would basically be the same figures as the Hagrids hut and expects patronum sets.

Overall I’m very pleased with this wave, good follow up on last years wave, same amount of sets for HP (more if you count the two August sets) great minifigs (only one duplicate!) and some pretty good builds. A bit disappointed in the Horntail but I’ll be excited to see what mods you all can come up with!

As far as spells go, I don’t think they would be able to make spells that attach to the current wands, rather a whole new molded “wand with spell” piece, double molded with the wand color and a trans clear spell color. Say for example: Clear red for expelliarmus Clear green for avada kedavra Clear blue for experto patronum etc

I hadn’t noticed that, upon second inspection I found that it’s in the background of the whomping willow set too, it most likely was an indication of the clock tower set, much like the sillohuette of the Millenium falcon on the Death Star box.

So no word on when we might expect the next set to leak? I thought nino had them all, can he not show the rest?

I think the inclusion of Hagrids hut, the horntail and the dementors in this wave are good indicators that the designers were giving us hints as to what was to come with the d2c Hogwarts. All of those were Included in that set, as well as the whomping willow, Ford Anglia, great hall, potions room, gryffindor common room and aragog which were all in the first wave. Hopefully there might still be hints as to what’s to come in future waves (chamber of secrets, room of requirement, boat house, defense against the dark arts classroom, dumbledores office etc.)

I find it kind of odd how we can only see two minifigures on the box art, normally the calendars have around 5-7 minifigs, with a lot of them on the box to get people to buy it. I would expect there to be more than two minifigs in this one, but it’s strange there isn’t more on the box. besides that it looks great! Legoniche did a great job at recapping all we can see so I won’t repeat what’s been said, but everything looks pretty exciting.

Hopefully the reason we haven’t seen her is because she’s being made in another factory because she has arm and side leg printing or a cloth skirt. Also, I think the fact we haven’t seen a hagrid leak is because it’s the same version as last wave, so there’s no reason to leak it. :(

Looks like there’s still some time before the reveals, besides the 5 sets, and then the other two rumored ones, is there anything left? Just the build your own adventure book and the advent calendar right?

So now the only two figures left to leak are hermione in her Yule Ball outfit and Hagrid (if he will even have a new version) right? Isn’t it a little odd for pretty much all the figures and molds to leak and not have an official reveal? I can’t remember; how did the leaks go with the last wave? How much had we already seen before the official reveal? I’d hope we get a reveal soon, I’m really exited for this wave! The only set I’m missing from last years wave is the large midi scale Hogwarts (including the bricktober pack and Diagon Alley!) which I’m planning on getting soon. I’m really exited to see the Horntail and the clock tower.

I hope going forward TLG continues to make HP sets at a midi scale, to go with the Hogwarts castle and Diagon Alley gwp. People mentioned a Hogwarts add on to complete the castle, personally I would love this but don’t think it’s too likely. Maybe we could get certain other towers as exclusives like the Diagon Alley, it could be a gift with purchase released after every Harry Potter D2C, like modular Diagon Alley buildings :D Another place where we could get some good midi scale structures is with the advent calendar. I can totally see them making a midi scale Hogwarts Express, Quidditch pitch, more dragons, etc! Has anyone taken a shot at making any midi scale Mocs to go with the castle?

Please refrain from stating your personal opinions as facts, none of us know if they’ve planned that far ahead and throwing out false claims based on speciulation is only confusing people and inciting argument on the forum. I personally hope they do follow a certain path of getting us a complete castle from all of the waves, and I think it is very likely but I have no evidence to support my claim.

Really exited for this wave, POA is my favorite book and movie so it’s nice to get so much of this wave be based on that. And the GOF sets sound great too, in really exited to see the horntail, and then see what other LEGO dragons we could use to sub in for the Swedish short snout, Chinese fireball and common green. Also, this might not belong in this topic, but where have people seen the best deals as far as discounts on this wave of sets? I’ve seen some good discounts at target, with the willow at 55 usd, as well as amazon.
