  1. Happy Birthday, oh mighty Pirate Regulator...
  2. This is an amazingly detailed and accurate Dutch fire engine (choosing DAF as the brand makes it even more typical Dutch). I really like all the little details you put in and the rolling doors and all the compartments are really well done.
  3. I still store a lot of my 'AFOL' sets inside their boxes, but I really need to start storing the boxes separately to save space. So far I've flattened and stored the modular houses' boxes. I just can't get around to discarding the boxes. I used to cut out the boxart of my Lego and Playmobil boxes as a kid and put them in folders. But they got lost along with my catalogs.
  4. I think I'm speaking for many pirates fans, that of course we'd like to see pictures, but you might want to start your own thread for it then...
  5. I like that you try different designs for the front of your vehicles. The forward wheel position is indeed much better. Nice job.
  6. Welcome Allan. I've enjoyed the MOCs you've shared so far in the Town forum. Oh my... you've benn 'Cool Lego site of the week' in 1998. That takes me back...
  7. I'm never that mainstream ( ) but the winners are certainly some of my favorites. Congratulations to the winners! It's really been a great contest. I really liked the originality of the entries this year. For me personally that's largely due to the no-violence character of the contest this year. I also have the idea it really spurs creativity among builders, so I'd really like to see a 'themed' PTV3 contest next year, instead of just pillaging and looting (but I know many here have a totally different opinion on that issue ). Big thanks to the C-P staff for organizing the contest!

Welcome spock. Although I'm more a fan of 6-wide vehicles nowadays, that classic town bus looks very cute...
  9. Maybe a difference in availability next year between North-America and the rest of the world?
  10. Thanks! Go ahead
  11. This sums up my opinion pretty well. The 2006 advent calendar was the first one I bought, which was pretty good. The 2007 was a big disappointment, because it lacked original models. 2008 had some pretty good and original 'civilian' models, like the ice cream cart. 2009 combines this with nice winter scenes and very useful town accessories like the bench, fountain, light post, and traffic light.
  12. I'd definitely not buy any RC train now anymore with the PF trains coming up next year. Plus, I don't like the huge one-piece noses. If you'd like to get a train, I'd wait for the 2010 passenger tain (August, it's a long wait, but you also need to save up a bit ). Brickbeard's Bounty is a nice set, but the middle section is lacking and needs work in my opinion.
  13. I'd say this is pretty acceptable, so NoWorries ( ), but usually people appreciate it here if you think before you write. Anyway: Wilkommen/Welcome to Eurobricks.
  14. Yeah I remember the mismatch between the yellow pieces and the printing from this torso. I'm not sure, but I believe the torsos (at least one) I have (from 6241, 6242, and 6243) have the same problem.
  15. It would fit with the red and white faction's 'horses' (unicorns?) having straight horns (new piece?) on their head armor.
  16. Yeah, the Babyfigs™ ( ) are one by one stud and they look like they're two bricks high.
  17. I only noticed the issue with the yellow clips in recent years. It almost looks like the 'light-yellow' used in the Island Xtreme sets. I also noticed a similar problem with the 1 x 1 orange pieces in my City tow truck: they also look a lot 'paler' than the rest of the orange bricks and plates in the set.
  18. Happy B-day Adam. Don't eat that cake all at once.
  19. Welkom/Welcome to Eurobricks. (you might want to add 'The Netherlands' under 'Location' in your profile, that way it shows up next to your posts that you're Dutch ).
  20. Nice expansion of the original. I also like that you've added decks to the front and the back. The original has a nice design and an excellent color pallet, but the middle of the ship is just unfinished.
  21. I believe I also had those left! However, I can't just let it rest, I just have to go through the instructions again.
  22. I was waiting with responding in this thread until you had a chance to incorporate suggestions made. But you've made a really cool looking truck now. The nose you designed is a nice break from the 'standard' flat-nose Lego truck. And the black rims and mudguards really look good, given that you have the yellow to avoid it looking too dark overall... Well done!
  23. I sure hope TLG brings them back http://brickfactory.xs4all.nl/ (slower than ever though, it's hosted on a home connection)
  24. Right, 'Town' didn't die when TLG started to call it '(World) City'.

    City 2010

Not really a surprise, but nice to have confirmation nonetheless.
