I personally dig the use of dark grey to provide the hard spine of the piece, including the engine block at the back. TLG Power Miners go over board with the lime and orange theme, which can be a bit annoying, but this works perfectly!
You've clearly put a lot of thought into this! Which is an excellent thing, in this case. Lots of playability and fun bits of realism, too. Nicely done!
Elaborate and impressive, indeed!
Does anyone think the Lego designers look at this and grumble they weren't given such freedom in their own attempts? It'd be funny.
I like the smooth exterior as well as the attention to detail. It might've been helped by a tiny flash of colour here and there, but that's just me. Lovely stuff, all in all.
I'm TenorPenny, British (vaguely) AFOL. Used to collect and play a lot when I was younger the the fascination never left. A couple of nephews got me re-interested, so here I am. I mostly make microscale things these days, so my main interest is in space/exo-force/star wars and the like, although I might just have to buy me some new Pirate stuff soon.
My MOC gallery.
Lovely to meet you all, I'm sure.
Thanks! Yes, the thing itself is quite simple and spartan, but I posted it as a taste of my style, I suppose. There are some bigger ships in my galley, of course, but they involve even more backstory and photography!
