Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
1992pb replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I think it's the real set. It does look like a MOC, and it's underwhelming. It has a couple recolored pieces, that's what (to me) confirms that this is the real set: a green scooter and part 1745: Plate, Round 1 x 2 Half with 1 Stud (Jumper) in LBG. ===== ====== ====== I think we now know why TLG is waiting so loooong for an official reveal: They feel ashamed of what they came up with -

So, since I was curious too, and taking advantage of a slow morning, I created in stud.io a digital model of the exterior of the Grand Hotel. I used as a reference all the photos provided in the various reviews online. I then downloaded from the digital forum a .lxf file of the Parisian Restaurant. Once put one besides the other, I made a couple of renderings: I may try this with other modulars too, but first my computer needs to cool down before it catches fire -

Italian speaking here! Indeed the video was blurry and I watched it on my smartphone, but those writings don't seem to add any bit of info. They're just placeholder text like "enjoy the advanced building techniques of the creator expert line" Now the link I had seems to have expired, so I can't proof-check -
It happened also using a test lxf file I made up with only 6 2x4 bricks I'm not so skilled to fully understand that command prompt. Basing on what I read, though, the file was loaded correctly, but then there's a long list of exceptions in JavaFX Application Thread. Not sure about what that means, but also not sure that it's normal. So I'll try updating Java and see

Hello, Today I encountered an issue with this program: I can't import LXF files correctly. Just to be sure that I'm doing things correctly, since I don't use it often: I open blueprint, click on File, then Import LXF, then I can choose the file. Right? After doing this, I can't see anything in the step design page (see attached image). One thing I noticed is that when I click for the first time on the File menu only Import LXF and Open design commands are active; if I click again after importing an LXF all the commands are active. Any idea on the cause and on a solution? Did anyone else encounter this problem? Thanks

but if nobody else noticed, probably it's me in error. :)

I'm not sure about the color of the Ocean Monument. Is it sand green? Isn't sand green a bit darker? Maybe the light in the videos confuses me..

Hi Paul, I don't write often but I think this deserves a reply. I wouldn't care so much about a single negative feedback... I found your blog a few days ago, I didn't read it deeply because I'm a bit busy with university exams, but it seems very interesting! When you create a pool on the web (but also in real life) there is always someone that doesn't reply seriously, and clicks buttons at random. This changes a lot the results; I would be happy with only a single negative feedback in a pool open to all people worldwide Simply ignore it. Maybe someone thought that you post a few lines and images and then a link to your blog in order to increase accesses, but again - it's only a single person; and anyway IIRC you don't have ads on your blog. I hope I was helpful Ciao!

Maybe the mould for 2x3 plates (or bricks, you didn't specify ) is broken or out of service... There could be other reasons than just increasing part count.

1992pb started following Model Expo Italy 2014 - Verona
-
On the 8th-9th of March, in Verona, the Model Expo Italy 2014 will take place; it's an important international exhibition of both static and dynamic model-making. The last year the organization of the fair allowed LEGO bricks to participate, with a test exposition that CLV (the FOL group of Verona) successfully passed, thanks also to other italian AFOL that helped us during the event, with MOCs, sets and their presence. The organization judged that the quality of the showed material was in line with the spirit of the fair, and this year gave us lots of space. We of CLV want to make up something great, and so we need help from all italian AFOLs with their LUGs, groups and associations! The idea is to divide the space into these subthemes: - city diorama with buildings, parks, roads, railroad, harbour, rural zone and a big logistic center - technic exposition - star wars exposition - dynamic zone - vintage city zone - vintage castle zone - classic space zone - various-other-LEGO-stuff zone :D We don't know opening hours with precision yet; in 2013 they were: friday - set up; saturday - open to visitors from 9 AM to 6 PM; sunday - open to visitors from 9 AM to 6 PM and then dismantling time from 6 PM till we finish. Further info will arrive! For more details: http://www.clvbrickteam.org/ info@clvbrickteam.org

Hello everyone! I'm Pietro and I write from Verona, Italy - the city of Romeo and Juliet My nick derives from my birth year plus the initial letters of my name. I'm studying civil engineering at university and next year I should graduate in French horn at the local music academy. I came out from the Dark Age two years ago, and my LEGO interests cover city, star wars, modular buildings (although I have only the FB), advanced models and technic, which hit me suddenly a few weeks ago. See you soon! PS these minifig-like emoticons are beautiful
