There's a couple doh. $300+
-
I called the Disneyland Lego store. Sold out as of Friday. Well that sucked but to be expected. Update: I called the Legoland store also. Bummer. They also got it in, but sold out. I should check ebay. I bet a guy bought it all out to resell at $500. lol
-
Well that ain't fair. I got no Lego store near me. Hmm...

Ih. If the Y-wing gives you a tail gunner, then it might not be too bad to get now. At first I wasn't too thrilled as I thought it was a too much of a dupe of a older y-wing.

I'm going to do a brief review of the alternate set for the #8420 Lego Street Bike, which is a "Low Rider" type bike. I would normally include it in the normal review, but I just built it and wanted people to see it. Set Name: 8420 Lego Street Bike- Alternate build Theme: Technic Released: 2005 Pieces: 506 Price: $49.95/39.99euro/35.45pounds Alternate set- Low Rider This is what it should look like in the manual. Build Process Engine build. Looks the same as the street bike. Starting on the frame of the bike. More of the front frame is on. Rear frame and tire now on. Looks good with the tire like that. I like the one-sided arm. Turned around. Now you see I added the rear frame and front holder for the fork. Now the aero parts parts on, including the chain and rear fender. Now front wheel and fork is on. Flipped it around. Finished. You can see the mufflers and handlebar is all done. :) Sexy finished shots. Side profile. Front view. Wow. Looks great either way. Either as a street bike or low rider. Rear shot. Very clean. Interesting how it used the windshield as the rear fender. It works well like that. Features No suspension like the first bike, but the wheels turn, the handlebar swivels, the rear tire turns the chain and moves the engine pistons. Final thoughts Wow. I never thought of building alternate sets. This one came out so well, it could've been the main set. I did notice that it required alot less pieces. That in itself is unusual. Normally you build the set, and find extra pieces to make the alternate. This one, I think I had exactly the parts for the main. My rating: Playability: 4 out of 5. Works like a toy bike. I wouldn't fling it down the stairs, but its good. Design: 5 out of 5. So close. They should make a UC version of this. (updated. It's higher now because the alt is that good.) Build experience: 3 out of 5. On a technic scale. It's a little harder than the snow mobile. But you don't need to be in high-school to build it. Overall: 5 of 5. Buy it if you like bikes or a good technic set. (updated. It's higher now because the alt is that good.) Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed it!

I found it from a article on Brothers-brick. :)

I say 3cpo. Only because the poor guy is metal. And that ugly yellow they use does no justice. :) The chome on Vader is nice from what I can see. Its black but the sheen is almost like looking at oil on water. has a slight rainbow effect. Looks neat.

Thanks guy/gals! I'm more of a "picture" person, but I thought doing reviews would be fun. It is. I hope to do more shortly. Strange, that the idea of having a icon next to your name, an give you a boost to work harder. lol

Some lego fan figured out that Target in Hawaii carried the minis. The guy in the area said he sold out of them yesterday when a guy came in and bought out all 30 in stock. *sigh* I at least only took a couple of each to keep some for the next guy.

This review will be on the 8420 Lego Street Bike. I bought this back in 2005. For a 4 year old set, it holds the test of time. I believe they could release it now and it'll still look like it belongs on the road. Set Name: 8420 Lego Street Bike Theme: Technic Released: 2005 Pieces: 506 Price: $49.95/39.99euro/35.45pounds Wanna see some pictures? Let's start with the normal box arts and manuals! 8420 Box art front I had to borrow the box art as I threw away my old box. Not bad picture although I think a different angle might have been better. 8272 Instruction books Only one book. Kind of thick. Half of it is for building this bike. The other half is for the alternate set. A "Low rider" type bike. See picture below. Alternate set- Low Rider I never built this alternate. I was a sport bike kind of person. But..The more I look at this, the better it looks. Very low. 8420 Part list page The parts list. I love the tires. They are large and very bike tire-ish. The front is thin low profile tire, and the rear is a fat low profile tire. The build Below is a new concept which I will try from time to time. It's a contact sheet of the build. You can click on the photo for the full size picture. Warning, it is large. The build sheet (Click on photo to view full size 2400x300) Here is a contact sheet of 18. Yes, 18 build shots. This should give you an idea of how it was put together without ruining the fun of making it yourself. The build shouldn't take too long for someone building technic sets. This is much harder to put together than the Snow Mobile that I reviewed earlier. There are tighter fitting and smaller parts in this set. More than once I had to use a flat surface to push a rod into place. Besides that, there wasn't anything difficult. Features For a bike, which looked like a wire frame, there is a lot of parts to this. My friend commented how real it looks until you examine it closely. He said, "Where's the gas tank? How does the muffler connect to the engine?" He's right, it has none. And the muffler doesn't connect to anything. As a detailed model, it's very good. As a realistic model, it's not. I so love the tires. They actually made bike tires. As I said elsewhere, the fronts are lower profile and thinner than the rear. Which are low profile, but really wide. Awesome. The mono shock and spring works well. And the ability to adjust the spring to give it a tighter rebound and lower stance to the bike helps a lot for looks. In the final shots, I have the shock/spring set to "open" so the bike stands up taller. The handlebar does turn the front wheel and the rear wheel does move the chain and pistons move up and down. No decals. I don't think it came with any. Or I never put them on. It's not in any photos. And here finally is the completed shots. Side view Sweet! Come on... I know you like it. :) 4 cylinder engine, kick stand, real bike tires not from a car. The shock is adjustable too! You can rotate the ring on it to give more compression if you wanted. Look disk brakes. Front view The windshield has non-sticker decals. I also love how the front wheel doesn't use a normal fork steering. Rear view Rear shot. Big fat tire. Now that looks like sport bike. I would've picked smaller mufflers, but I don't think there's a compromise Lego piece. Top view Oh look, there's a seat. Hmm. I would've stuck on some black smooth 1x5 strips over the dots. But I heard Lego goes out of its way to show the "dots" as proof it's Lego. Hmm, now that my friend told me, not seeing the gas tank is throwing me off. Underside view Yes, I flipped it over for a photo. That front gear you can see just behind the front wheel does rotate when the engine pistons move up and down. And that kickstand does fold up. Closeup view of rear wheel It just looks right. I even like the disk brake thats in there. Again, not the conventional fork holding the rear wheel. Closeup of engine area In this view, you can see the detail they put into this bike. You can see the cylinder heads, the brake handles on the handle bars. Even the sleek looking rear view mirrors. Issues Besides the whole not-being-authentic-to-a-real-bike, nothing except the kick stand. while very beefy looking, doesn't seem to hold up the bike very well. Really wobbly. Final thoughts I think this is a must buy. I would buy another just for parts if I could get it at the price I paid. $69, which is what it goes for now is OK if you don't already have it. Good for the tires. To see the full size pictures, please goto my flicker site: Street Bike Pictures My rating: Playability: 4 out of 5. Works like a toy bike. I wouldn't fling it down the stairs, but its good. Design: 4.5 out of 5. So close. They should make a UC version of this. :) Build experience: 3 out of 5. On a technic scale. It's a little harder than the snow mobile. But you don't need to be in high-school to build it. Overall: 4.5 of 5. Buy it if you like bikes or a good technic set. Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed it!

This review will be on the 8272 Lego Snowmobile. Here in Hawaii, the island of Oahu has no snow. So having this set here in Hawaii is a bit strange. I bought it for the pieces and how detailed it looks. I purchased this from a local store in Hawaii that was closing out on all the Lego. I think this was regular price of $39.95. I got it for $20. I wish I knew about the sale a week earlier. I would’ve bought two. Set Name: 8272 Lego Snowmobile Theme: Technic Released: 2007 Pieces: 337 Price: $29.95 Wanna see some pictures? Let's start with the normal box arts and manuals! 8272 Box art front/back For a box cover, it's well done. Makes me want to buy it. Good closeup shot to show you all the details! 8272 Box art back Back of the box shows the alternate picture, a Bulldozer. Looks smaller than the snowmobile. Less track segments. 8272 Instruction books Two whole books! Not bad considering 337 pieces. Since the books are small, they are thick. Makes it feel like you got alot ahead of you. 8272 Part list page I was almost tempted to just scan the page. At least it would've looked better. Extra parts It amazes me how much people love to see whats left after a build. For me, its a "hmm" what did I forget to put on now? Build and Features As far as the build goes, for a set with “only” 331 pieces and a lot of it is the treads pieces, it’s one solid little unit. The treads move and the track system moves up and down. The handlebar turns the front skies, which has working shocks and springs. The alternate set is a mini bulldozer, which I did not build. And here is some picture of the build process. Front end Starts off by having you build the front end first. I love the suspension. Very tightly fit, yet you can turn and the shocks do a good job. They are firm. Thread build You can see how the black cog locks between the tracks. Treads attached to frame Next you attach it to the rear. The track system can rock up/down. The pivot point is the red bar to the frame. Almost done. Front and rear joined Back to work on joining the front and back. In this shot, the top of the front is flipped up still. Just about done Just the skids, handlebar and some minor cosmetic parts is left to do. Looks good,no? And now for some finished shots. Side profile You can see where the rear track can pivot by the red and black bar connecting it to the frame of the snowmobile. Front Very sleek. Nice angles. Rear Twin tail pipes. And very modern looking brake lights. Top Just enough room for one person. Here you can even see the silver gas cap just below the handlebars. Underside Just one long track for cutting into the snow. Lets ride! Issues No big issues for this build. Everything snapped together without any problems. Some Technic builds are a bit hard to join due to how some parts need to have a tighter fit. I didn’t come across anything that would be too hard for the average 9 year old to adult to push together. There is a tubing that you need to cut to size. And while not a issue per say, the springs on the shocks is really hard, so don't expect allot of "bounce". Final thoughts I bought it for parts, but after playing with it, I almost don’t want to take it apart. It really looks like a snowmobile! But I wanted the shocks/springs and the treads. Not many sets had treads in it. Sorry, I don't know where the sticker sheet went. To see the full size pictures, please goto my flicker site: Snowmobile Pictures My rating: Playability: 4 out of 5. It’s swooshable, although theres no figure for it. Design: 5 out of 5. Solid unit. And it really looks like a snowmobile. Build experience: 2 out of 5. On a Technic scale, this was easy. And nothing falls off when I push it around on the floor. Overall: 4 out of 5. It’s not expensive when the set was released and I like the parts that came with it. Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed it!

Swoosh! Pew! Pew! Folding wing for a landing. This mini-V-19 Torrent is pretty good. It's not just a static display but very playable. Best part, it's $3.99 for 66 part count! Set Name: 8031 Lego Mini V-19 Torrent Theme: Star Wars Clone Wars mini series Released: 2009 Pieces: 66 Price: $3.99 US price. I do not know if it's available elsewhere. Let us start off by looking at what you get. 8031 "box" Ha! It's not a box, but a bag. Be careful. The bag is easily ripped. For a bag, they did use a lot of color. 8031 Instruction book Ha! Got you again. It's not a book, but a fold out poster. I never saw this before but it looks like it lists a part number next to each piece that they add on. Extras Hey, even with a set this small, there are extra parts in the bag. Yay! There is no parts list or alternate set. Use your imagination to create your own ideas if you breakdown this set. Here is a build process shown in build sheets. 8021 Build sheets You read it from left to right, from top to bottom. And that's about 24 step process. I bet I wrote more words than they are pieces. Finished pictures Side view. Landing mode._Front view. Landing mode Rear view. Landing mode._Top view. Landing mode. Side view. Flight mode._Front view. Flight mode. Rear view. Flight mode. Lets try iso-view from the front in flight mode. Iso view from rear in flight mode. Iso view front in landing mode. Iso view from the rear in landing mode. All final photos can be clicked on to view a larger picture. Features I give Lego credit for making it pretty realistic. The center wing actually swivels down for flight mode. It does it with a good feel too. The center wing has resistance when moving. Helps for when you might be flying it around your room. You won't need to hold the wing to keep it from moving loose. Then again, maybe mine had a tight fit. The other part that moves is the two wings, They can raise and lower for flight mode and landing mode. Issues No issues. Everything was simple to follow. Hard to get lost when there's ~66 pieces to put together. Final thoughts At $3.99 for 66 pieces, it's a good deal if you need parts from it. If not, there always the 8033 Lego Mini General Greivus set which "only" has 44 count, but still $3.99. To see the full size pictures, please goto my flicker site: Mini V-19 Torrent My rating: Playability: 4 out of 5. It’s swooshable. It's a mini. Stick it in your jacket pocket and take it with you. Design: 3 out of 5. Very good job. I think a few things could've made it better like what IlikePi said, "Where's the other republic insignia for the other wing?" Build experience: 2 out of 5. This was easy. As I mentioned before, hard to get it wrong with so little pieces. Overall: 5 out of 5. It's $3.99. Even in Hawaii where there seems to be an automatic $5-30 price increase on most Lego sets when compared to the mainland. Well worth buying at least one. Thanks for reading!

I would've guessed lego would off-set the box (remove extra pieces that's in the box) but let me know how that works.
-
All- True. If you don't know me, then I can understand. And I wouldn't believe me either. The box was hard to open the way I did as I punched the thumbhole area. If you ever opened the box this way, you know the glued flap for the side of the box is right there. You can't punch in and pull to open, which is what I did. If I tried to open the box the normal way I open these types of boxes, which is by grabing the edge of the back of the back cover and ripping up(like I eventually did in the video) I would have opened it better. To those that know me or my flickr site- And to me, this is all that matters. If I was joking, I would say its a joke. It's not. And I wouldn't ruin my good name and my flickr site by having 100's of people thing I was lying. Does me no good. If I was a joker, I would get more hits on "youtube" and I would've posted it there under a different name and pointed to it. As for me telling you how I did it, not gonna happen. Maybe in a few weeks. If. IF there was a way that I knew, I'm not about to have everybody rush out and buy all the boxes with the Chrome Vader inside. That defeats the purpose that Lego wanted it to be done. And no. If I could guess which one has it, I'm gonna buy 50 of em to sell. I may sell a couple if I can get a couple, but I'm not doing this to make ALOT of money. I'll leave that to the people on bricklink whos selling alot of them.
-
Rght, which is why I posted the video to show the unit coming out of the box. :) And whoever that guy was from Lego who said it wasn't in that pack owes us an apology. And I sure hope when that story breaks, I get some credit for proving that it came out of the box.
-
KimT- Oh my god. I'm trying to be a reviewer for this site. You calling me a lier(although a bit indirectly) how are people going to trust my reviews I do once I pass. I wouldn't lie. That just hurts. Future74- No I didn't film myself doing every single one. That would be crazy. Diabloiij- As I said, I did not open the box first.
-
It's on the back page of the lego magazine. Says that it would be randomly inserted into 2009 star wars sets. Sweet. As ILikePi pointed out on my bag: http://starwars.lego.com/10 Now I know for sure this is the Chome Darth Vader.
-
Err. I live in Hawaii. Right now I'm just taking PMs from people who wants it. I'm just taking inventory of what people wouldn't mind trading and then I'll pick the best offer. I would do cash, but that would be paypal. But I wanted to keep it more open to people who may not have cash.
-
I'm probably going to sell/trade this one so I can buy more lego sets to build. I'm looking for Technic/Star Wars sets.
-
I believe it started back in Grade School. We started a club and picked nicknames. Mine was Starstreak. Club was Starstreak International. We were gonna sell stuff but never took off. Must be well over 20 years ago.
