  1. I did, linked on FBTB. Looks like LSW is getting better and better. Although they gave Rex a PT Clone body instead of a CW one, but oh well.
  2. For most of season 2 the episodes were posted on Starwars.com itself just a week after they aired, so I would call that pretty legal. For those who can't wait (or who's internet connections don't load starwars.com so well anyway), youtube is certainly not the way to go. You need to dig a little deeper to come up with some better illegal sites.
  3. I'm not so sure. I think you're just seeing the little sliver of silver above the black line on the torso. The jetpack around the neck would be much bigger. I also noticed that the R2 unit in the V-Wing is the Clone Wars style, which is very odd. The ship is certainly not a CW set, in fact, it can only count as EU.
  4. I once saw a minivan go by with tons of bricks glued to the outside, but I didn't get a picture so my story falls short. I guess those lines just give the authority to swerve.
  5. Yes, looks like two Bomb-Squad troopers to me as well, although the one not pictured above the box looks to have a less-orange helmet. Strange. Also, it looks like we're getting new smaller handgun molds, since the Mando's guns aren't exactly like any we've seen before. Aurra and the "Commando" seem to have them too. I love new guns!
  6. Wow! We usually don't get such good pictures so soon! These pics look cool, but some of the pictures even of the figures look prelim. Here's my thoughts why: Jar Jar has the exact same torso print that he had last time he came out. LEGO just wouldn't do that, they'd come out with a more detailed one. The figures in the shuttle seem very weird to me, and mismatched. Saesee Tiin has a Clone Trooper face. I guess it's possible LEGO would do that, since it sort of works, but that just seems weird. Tiin also has an old style torso, like the PT Mace robes and the original Jedi robes, not the CW style. Both Shaak Ti and Quinlan Vos do not have the signature Clone Wars eyes. That just doesn't make sense. It made enough sense for Bariss not too I suppose, since she came in an arguably PT set with a EpIII Clone and not a CW one, but why would LEGO make a set with two CW looking characters and two non-CW looking characters? I just don't get it. Quinlan Vos's torso looks like the old Luke Skywalker one just with some extra minor detail. LEGO hasn't put out a SW torso that simplistic in years. And, finally, Obi-Wan has a green lightsaber, but I guess that could just be a silly mistake. Still, the sets are looking good and this at least confirms the figures even if they aren't finished. Those Battle Packs are to die for. It seems like there isn't a single normal Clone Trooper in the Clone one, since the fourth one pictured on the box also looks orange-ish. The Mando looks exactly like Jango too.
  7. I wouldn't count my chickens, as the saying goes. This happened with the PoP sets too, they became available in one airport at least a month before their proper release date (and Ricecracker just happened to be there to get one). I think we'll still be waiting until that October 1st date before they really start to pop up widely.
  8. I believe those were actually horribly misleading ads for LEGO Battles, since sets released around the same time as that game had those little ads. I have read Fall 2010 as the release date for LSW III.
  9. Well, I think Fight for the Dagger looks alright, but truly this line is about cool new parts and colors and minifigs. It's those figs and animals that made me buy four of the sets (couldn't be bothered to buy the grey blob one for only one different fig).
  10. Me too! Nuju is my most favorite Bionicle set ever. If he wasn't all white, maybe I'd review him myself. Good review. You've covered exactly why I myself loved the Metru Toa, although I only ever got two of them. The Metru are clearly just a much-needed upgrade from the first two sets of Toa, before Bionicle turned into continual rehashes without the gears anyway. The Metru are sleek and elegant, and still have a certain charm.
  11. This set is really no more than a parts pack, since the model stinks heavily, but hey, that's fine by me. Two Ostriches, the awesome Sheik Amar figure, and the abs of Jake, all for $20? I'll take it. That Sheik Amar head is really a new favorite of mine, and even more demonstrative of how fleshies get all the best heads. I dig the turban in all the colors, too.
  12. Hold on a minute now. Three new Jedi? I know that Vos will be in season 3, but this is nearly impossible to believe. The last time we saw three new figures in a single normal Star Wars set was at the release of the Clone Wars line, where everybody had to be new. This seems beyond the realm of possibility. Also, as to the Battle Packs, I wondered why, after KimT's initial post, everybody started thinking these would have four figures. The initial post certainly does not list four figures for the packs, and so I think it's pretty certain that LEGO is finally cutting it down to three. Unfortunate, but it seems like something TLG would do. If this list of figures is correct, even with just three in the Clone battle pack it will still be an awesome set of figures.
  13. Uh oh, I'm not a MOD, but Svelte did ask that we keep this too rumors, not hopes. Hopes go in the other thread about what you wish for. Hopefully somebody with more information on this will be able to confirm or deny.
  14. I just happened to be reading the POTC thread over in the Pirates forum, and I noticed achris made the above comment. Achris, if you come by here, care to explain this news? I do not believe I'd heard of any Deathly Hallows Part 2 sets before…
  15. If my memory serves me correctly, they did kill her off in the original Cartoon Clone Wars, and quite surprisingly fast too. I wouldn't mind if they killed her sometime. I'm ready for some big-name characters to start dying, it would make the whole War seem more urgent. Up to now, the only people that die are characters that haven't had much screen-time anyway, except Farr, I suppose.
  16. The Rebel Trooper Battle Pack had four of the same trooper. But, these days it seems unlikely that there would be four of the same. Still, since there are only two different types of Mandos (run-of-the-mill and the leader), then we either get the leader, or they are all the same. I doubt in the Clone Trooper BP that we will get four figs that are not normal Clones, but you never know. Since the Mando BP will have four completely new figs, maybe the Clone Trooper one will also. It seems strange to me that there would be two new Jedi in the shuttle, just because up to now LEGO has only ever release CW sets that refer to episodes that had already aired some time before. So, either LEGO is actually basing this set on a yet-to-air episode, or they're just taking the shuttle and throwing in some random Jedi. Either way, I hope they give Obi-Wan and Anakin new different expressions, but I know that's unlikely.
  17. This is an interesting idea, and I can certainly see that the new shades would add more of a kick to a predominantly grey theme. Still, the one thing that I like more about the original X-Wing than the re-dos is how drab the thing looks; exactly like the original film!
  18. Alright, sorry for my misspoken comment there, but it is true that nobody replied. I guess in the future it would also be useful if anyone who emails also replies with something so that other interested members may see the topic without it falling behind.
  19. Really, MOCing these characters with different outfits is not so difficult. The Hut is just a good way to get more Hogwarts uniforms in general, plus a new (face) Hagrid. I still only have the yellow version. Each set has its perks in minifigures. If you were going to get the Castle and the train anyway to have the main trio, you can buy Freeing Dobby as well and use that Hogwarts uniform for Ron.
  20. And a much better take than MegaBloks, to be sure. I do wonder myself if they will have to make the ships Imperial Flagship sized. I think the Dutchman would especially look lame in classic pirate ship LEGO size. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I highly doubt LEGO will go modular with Port Royal. It's just not something that they've ever really done, so I don't think it can be expected here. I don't think they'll make one large Port Royal either, because the large set spots will probably be filled with the ships. If they make a set from Port Royal at all, I bet it will be in the $50 range.
  21. I think Ron should really come in The Burrow. It's his house after all! At least the trio in Hogwarts garb can be attained somewhat cheaply in Hagrid's Hut.
  22. No, I certainly agree that they need new stuff. I have no problem with all the new stuff in the show, or that Ahsoka is never mentioned in the films and all that. Obviously it can't be exactly like the films, and I'm not saying it has to be. I also understand that they want to keep Grevious in the show pretty often because he's a cool, menacing character that was already invented before, but I think they handle him pretty poorly, in relation to EpIII and in general. I agree that he would use his four arms when fighting, but it really seems in EpIII that Obi-Wan had never seen Grevious like that before. Even if he'd heard about it from other Jedi, it would make sense that he would still be surprised to see it himself. But in the show, he Obi-Wan fights Grevious all the freaking time! And, what's more, Grevious is a total wuss all of the time, can barely fight very well, and usually can't kill anybody. In the original Clone Wars miniseries (which wasn't that good altogether), Grevious was awesome, and cut down a lot of people pretty fast. I just think that they should have restricted Grevious to episodes that didn't involve Obi-Wan in order to make him seem more dangerous and build up his mystique.
  23. Not just the EU, the films as well. Even if you haven't read or experienced a lot of EU, like I haven't, there are still discontinuities with EpIII. For one, I think it is quite clear from the fight between Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Dooku on the Invisible Hand that they have not met since their last duel on Geonosis in EpII. But Anakin fight Dooku in the Clone Wars movie, which doesn't fit at all. Secondly, I think Obi-Wan was clearly not expecting that Grevious has four arms when he whips them out during the fight on Utapau in EpIII. It really seems like Obi-Wan and Anakin have never met Grevious before when they meet him at the beginning of EpIII, judging by their conversation. But they meet tons of times in the show! I really wish Filoni and whoever else would stop doing this. The films should be the baseline story that all other material has to follow. It's pointless to break continuity with the films, and then have to come up with some stupid, stretchy explanation.
  24. I might no be allowed to hold this opinion in the Historic Themes section, but my favorite castle is the Orient Expedition Dragon Fortress. This castle is one imposing beast, has great play features, and really uses the raised baseplate to its full potential. I have the same raised baseplate from King Leo's Castle, and it is really underused in that set. The Dragon Fortress is massive, heavy, and quite a castle to behold. Aside from the Adventurers figs, it also comes with great Chinese figures for historical MOCs.
  25. Yes, in fact I did that myself, but what I was referring to was the box image. You cannot get that close to the box image, even zoomed in all the way. The problem with zooming into the non-box images is that they are incorrect, and the figures are not their finished versions. Filch still has brownish hair, Voldemort is in dark green, the dementors have no faces, McGonagall and Snape have no capes, etc. What I'm really looking forward to seeing is the completed figs and not just in the site's renders to see how they really look. I don't think Dumbledore's wand is any smaller, I think the angle is just smaller. The wands are one thing that I'm disappointed with in the new series. They really should have made a new wand-looking piece, or at least something that looked like the wands in the videogame. I hated the old bars in the older sets, and it's sad that they're still using them now. At least Ron doesn't have a gray wand this time.
