  1. That was WAY too fast! But cool! Joe .space paparazzi!
  2. Things like this wake me up. I dropped the owner a line and his reply is that he's raising money for something else... Joe
  3. That's good to know. I'm a multitheme person, but space was my first calling:-) SuvieD's suggestion is a good one, as I would just want a place for sci-fi/futuristic stuff. And there were some space items besides Star Wars - the Discovery Space sets, which had a really nice Space Shuttle! There's none being made presently, but there was some somewhat recent space stuff. Anyways, I'll be posting more and showing some stuff off soon.... Thanks! joe
  4. Why isn't there a space board? Joe .space paparazzi!
  5. Welcome! Pleaseure to meet you! (why do I feel like a tour host? :-) ) Joe .space paparazzi!
  6. Um, what's stopping you? You have a good start in building, so show all your MOCs. I can look at mine and say, yikes, I thought THAT was good? It's really neat to see how your skills develop and what niche you fall into. And welcome! Joe .space paparazzi! PS Yes I have no castle - I haven't gotten myself into that theme yet.
  7. Well, my initial suspicion is that this not *entirely* true....there have been hints around (usually thrown at BrickFest) as to the "coolest thing yet." And the timetable to LEGOFactory seems to match the timetable given here. So, it looks like the LEGO group is going push LFactory and improve it such that it will be a true LEGO brick on demand system. It's going to take some time- well, a LOT of time, but it can be done. So the bricks will sort of be gone (the disturbing thing about LFactory presently is that it has few bricks in the present palettes) but will be back as part of the "new and equally compelling" idea. And software is part of the equation. Just my 2 cents. Joe
  8. so now I gotta keep up with welcomes? That's a new one:-)! To babyjawa: Hi and welcome from another newbie - your gallery is small, but you have some neat things, so keep on building! And no, I haven't any castle MOCs - I don't think I know enough to build a decent castle thing. I tend to research before I start building, and I know very little about castle stuff. As for BrickJournal, go to www.brickjournal.com - and in a few weeks, the next issue will be out! To MattZitron: So here's where you went! Good to see you...and yes, I'm on the members MOC post now. Joe
  9. Wow, a great welcome! Thanks! I do need to make a couple of clarifications, though - To languages: I really appreciate the compliment, but I have to point out that Jake has a heckuva lot more access than me - I just have a freer opinion. I go to him for info and sometimes I get info, and sometimes I don't...but sometimes I get info from other places (evil laugh). To norro: Hi! Good to see you - I've become primarily a lurker on LUGNET, so it's good to see others I recognize! And I take it you want me to do more Aquazone :-) - well, there are some more thoughts! To xwingyoda: Thanks - the next issue is coming soon. Really. Honest. To apophisV: Thanks - it's been a while since I have built something worth note - I better get on that:-) To DoubleT: Thanks - I just put in a caption for the Viking contest, and I am poking around on the boards - the Viking Language posts are VERY entertaining! To SuvieD: A correction - Felix Greco created the Sea Monkeys, and he and I refined them to what they are now - probably the hardest theme to build for:-) And I am takingto the lightness of the forums - it's very welcome to me. Thanks! To jonfett: Thanks for the welcome! I do plan to hang around for a while - I like it here:-) To Bloody Jay - Hi! Again! Thanks! For! Getting! Me! Here! And to Chewie - Thanks, and I think I'm off to a great start:-) Now can everyone tell me THEIR galleries? Also, please post your creations - as I mentioned, I watch BrickShelf, LUGNET, and now these boards to look for ideas and articles. Do your best, and if you catch my eye, I'll send you a note! And if you're wondering if I have a bias - not really. Well, okay, I can't stand Belville. And I should point out also, others are watching:-) Joe
  10. Gungan ear cleanings are often painful to both the cleaner and the cleanee.
  11. Hi all, I'm Joe Meno, and for those who don't know, I'm Editor/Publisher of BrickJournal, a currently online magazine for the LEGO hobby - it's quarterly, and the next issue is coming soon. For background, I can be found in LUGNET and LEGOFan, and my Brickshelf gallery can be found here. I also am the head of the North Carolina LEGO Users Group. I build basically whatever what I want, with my latest work being in micro. And who got me here? Bloody Jay. So good to meet y'all! I'll be around and keeping an eye for MOCs and people... Later, Joe
  12. Hm, I have felt for a while that Alpha team was a diamond in the rough in terms of a concept. I really like Alpha Team in space (Deep Space Mission?) and would love to see fighter crafts and the asteroid base of Ogel, with death ray and attack craft! On that same thought, I would want a Alpha Team Command Center/Mission Control, with shuttle and support craft. One thing that I wanted to do a while ago was to build a movie studio layout that was actually the Alpha Team headquarters - there would be sets that are being 'shown' that were real facilities, like Mission Control..the ongoing spiel would be that there was a sci-fi film being produced that was about a global threat to peace...what better way to keep something secret than to make it too obvious to believe:-)?
