EBAY SCAM: UCS Millennium Falcon10179 - £186.99 NEW
roxio replied to skyliner's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I'd be telling ebay you won't be sending anything back when its been an obvious scam to the tune of £12k+ Why should you be out of pocket even more returning something to what is probably a phoney address. Ebay will be getting disputes from all the buyers so it will be obvious to them as well. Should be refunded and quickly. Threaten them with media exposure, that'll speed it up -
Yep, dont think I'll ever get this lucky again ! Shifted 99% of it on ebay within a month of buying, got around £1,750

Where Can I Find a Cheaper Death Star
roxio replied to Lord Of The Fries's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
couple of sellers from china/hong kong knocking out loads on ebay at moment for £130. Anyone got one off them - seems too cheap... -
The pack with pigsty, tractor and 4WD trailer ? £59.99 is more than the combined RRP of each separate set and seems far too high, especially for a discount store ???

Free LEGO promotion with UK Sun and News of the World

just an update, the postal method works, I got 8 sets through my letterbox today -
Didn't fancy going on the usual fruitless lego carbooter trawl on sun morning. Had set alarm for 6.30, quick peek out the curtains, not raining but had been most of the night, everywhere wet so back to bed. Woke again 8am, sun getting out a bit, wife and kids still flat out so crept out. Not many stalls, most put off by weather, probably about 20 but more turning up as weather improved. Quick 10 minute scan, not much doing, about to sneak off too McDonalds for a greasy brekkie when I came across a large stall just setting up selling toys. Lots of modern SW figs and wrestling figs. Oh, and 7 boxes (those supermarket crate-style ones) full of SW lego !!!! Quick scan showed that some was built but all was very dusty and mixed together, but lots of figs. Seller said he'd tried to shift it on ebay ( don't think so, just wanted to up the price ) but couldn't as had no original boxes. Obvious sets looking mostly built were 6210 and 6211 Traders were starting to circle so I asked how much for the lot. He wanted £200. At that point I still thought probably a bargain but its a hell of a lot of money to part with at a carbooter (my biggest ever purchase prior to this was £30 ! ) and I only had about £120 on me. I said too much so would buy a few of the boxes individuallyand asked him to price them per box. Quick scrape through them and saw Jango's ship, Jabba Palace, dewback etc dotted around so took a punt and said I'll have this one, this one etc as he added it up and came to £70 for 5 boxes (don't this maths was his strong point). That left 2 boxes with mainly Jabba barge and Star Destroyer in. Offered £30 for both and he took it. Brought my car round and was just loading it in when he said I might also need these - bag full of the original instructions, most hardly used !!! Left in a cold sweat with some buyers shaking their heads that I just spent £100 on dusty used lego lol Spent rest of sunday / today sorting through all look at least 98% complete and all with original instructions and just 4 figs missing from the whole lot !! (71 sets !!!!!!)

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
roxio replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Its all about the figs, 7153 is only set to date that has jango in. Similarly, 4501 only way to get greedo and dewback. These sort of sets can be had cheaply at time of production (I got 7153 for £20 and 4501 for £15) but now they cost the earth. Some of the UCS sets are pricey as well, Snowspeeder especially. -
Just picked up some bargains instore at Tesco's (UK) prices are still full RRP on website so probably just regional discounts by stores 7749 Echo Base - £9 8095 - Grievous Fighter - £20 8096 Palp Shuttle was £37 but left those

Value retired sealed vs. opened stare wars set
roxio replied to danthaman11's topic in LEGO Star Wars
most lego seals fail over time. If you are certain they were sealed when shipped then probably customs. You can't help that but should offer refund for returned set if buyer requests. He must be a misb collector otherwise it wouldn't be an issue ? -

I agree it could be improved but it has many plus points: 6 minifigs 437pieces for £39.99 - bargain by current Lego SW prices An iconic ship that might not be replaced for a couple of years so people are grabbing them now (quite high in the UK top25 sellers last time I checked)
-
Good points but I have to contradict slightly as the 10178 AT-AT was widely released in UK Argos shops in 2007
