I always thought it is a car salon, that would explain cowboy hat on the car sales man.

Great set. I found only one major fail - this - the hands of robot arms gets easly broken.

Hi, I like to incorporate LEGO cans into MOCs. Here are: - first generation Bionicle can turned into silo: ...attached by a technic axel (the hole was suppose to be used for Bionicle mask display): - "monster" Racers can/catapult used as power generator in mecha factory: ...and to keep it in place I have used this piece: - miniracers can cap used as garage logo:

Thank you! The only female heads I got are this with "heavy lipstick" and they don't look like 12-yo girl.

Well, it was just an accident. I was thinking about where should I put my polar bear, so I made a cage to transport it to the ZOO (I got no place or baseplates to make a proper ZOO, so it was only represented by this cage). But then I got this idea and replace the bear with the horse. The monorail was a real pain first and I have to change the whole city concept to use it. The original monorail layout is not compatible with roadplates. The other problem was incorporating train tracks into harbour. I got idea to elevate them to the level of harbour platforms.

Layout Hi everybody, So finally I've found some time to update my city layout and take some photos. Gallery (when moderated). My city is in classic 80s/90s SYSTEM scale. Also I tried to incorporate other themes, as exoforce mecha. Here is a quick tour, I should take some better and more detailed pictures in a resoneably near future :-| This is city plan: And here is the real thing: City center - the round yellow office bulding (curretly occupied by ninjas), next to it is cinema (the blue-white bulding) and old castle. Next to castle is post-office corner: Light house, part of harbour and market place: Harbour with cargo train station: From the right - pub, ice cream restaurant and bike shop: Train/monorail station, corner hotel and some houses. You take a better look on market place in upper left corner: Train station, with knight-bus-turn-passenger-train: WIP/industrial part of town. Garage, police station, monorail stop and mecha factory: Mecha factory, mobile minig unit, bionicle-can-silo: You can also spot: hospital with medicopter, Aquariders submarine in docks, fire house, m-tron mobile communication center (to keep in touch with our boys in space) and other things:

Wow, that's great! Now I can put M-Tron logo on t-shirt!

I'm currently reading William Gibson's "Spook Country" and in first chapter, entitled "White Lego", there is a paragraph that goes:

The sole purpose of this vig is to present the excellent combination of Exo-force robot and Bionicle pneumatic automatic gun. Folder (when public)

And if not, you could just add this piece: It was in this set: http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/7159-1

Nice, but what about garage?

System/Legoland was never about realism. Remember those minifigures sets from late 1970s, with cars that mf couldn't even fit into? Houses without back walls and stairs? Scale is not the matter - proposion is. Minifigs do not have human-like proportions, so it is imposible to build realistic car with minifigures (human is be taller than most of the cars - try and build that, fitting two figures inside!). If you need realism, go on and built bigger cars with TECHNIC-figures. The 6-wide blue car from Harry Potter was awful (and ugly) - it was so huge comparing to small house that came with that set. Of course, now everything is bigger - including a portable toilet size of 80s-90s house.

Well, I don't like the whole new IT MUST BE HUGE concept. Bring back 4-wide and Classic Town - something that can fit in the room.

Here's my entry. Since I still haven't got time to unpack my bricks |-/ , I used my wife's old sets that I found in box in my in-laws attic. So here is classic town minivan: Rest of gallery (when moderated)

I will show you my layout in a few weeks (after I move it), but I got some mixed themes in my City. First of all, Castle works great - gives you the feeling of classic Town Square set and nice history touch to the city. Exo-force - mecha look nice on the street, giving you anime Patlabor style - and you could repleace exo-pilots with policemen. Having starwars droids walking around make no difference then - it is just kind of "near future" city. With 90s cars like "Night patrol" it is all right. And then I thought a nice thing to do would be building robot/mecha factory. Then I'm using modified 7900 for Stealth Hunter transporter. In this robot factory I am using " 30556 Lime Technic Racer Launcher" (from Crash 'Em Racers) as a "power generator". Last thing I did was to mix classic space theme in the city - I got "Classic space monument" on town square and have built "Portal", where classic space guys can teleport themselves to my city.

All other new 2007 sets (including new theme)
osakana replied to sam89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
To be honest, that doesn't look too bad. That theme was available during my dark ages, so I don't know anything about it, but it doesn't look too futuristic or mech-y... ok, I can do without the catapult, What catapult are you talking about? It's a dump. Rock Riders was a nice theme. I bought them at my coming back from Dark Ages. -
Scan please! BTW, in Poland we don't get new catalogs since second half of 2005.
