Public Transport is definately at the top of my wish list The fuel tanker is a close second I find most of the City buildings to be rather underwhelming but the farm sets look quite good. I'm hoping Lego will focus a little more on buildings in the upcoming years

Isn't there a few gold bars with some of the new police sets? Pick some up and away you go

What do you think of the Islander sets?
Kaptin_BarfBeerd replied to Island boy's topic in LEGO Pirates
To tell the truth, I didn't like them at first. But then I get my hands on a few and now think they are a nice addition to the pirate theme. When Lego is finished with POC, I'm hoping we'll see islanders again. -
Oops, sorry Admins. I'll just cut and paste my original post into that thread and ask for this one to be locked

With Lego going back to its roots regarding civilian city sets, just wondering what the community here would think about set ideas like these. School House: I don't ever recall seeing a school or any school like building in any Lego catalogs. Would any city builders be interested in adding a school to their city scape? I know Lego is a kids toy and school is very unpopular with kids but a school house would at the very least give the 7585 Bulldozer something to ram through Prison: I'm sure everyone knows TLC loves to go overboard on their fire and police themes, but I'm sure this is one building we havent seen and probably should. The police stations have holding cells but I don't ever recall seeing a prison in Lego catalogs. With the new police sets (and more criminal minifigs and inadequate cells), a prison seems to be a much needed addition to a Lego city. Fast Food Takeaway: I know TLC released an Italian Restaurant in the 90's and we have a pizza shop in one of the new City sets but a Fast Food Takeaway also seems to be a good idea. Lego could also make their own "Brickburger" chain of Fast Food Takeaways like they did with the petrol stations with the "Octan" name Mall: This one might be a bit tricky cos malls are huge and a huge model requires a huge number of bricks and consequently, a hefty price tag. I know we have a few shops in the City line but I still think a shopping center of some sort would be a good idea. It would also give the criminals another place to steal from making more use of the police sets. If a mall would be too big, I think a market or some kind would be a viable alternative. These are just a few ideas, thoughts anyone?

Agreed to an extent but in 2010, we got a third fire station (which is getting a bit much IMO) and for 2011 it seems we get more police stuff recycled from the old sets and an out of place space exploration theme (The theme isn't bad, I just don't think it should be lumped in with City). Also, the old fire and police sets were still available so I wouldn't say they seemed to vanish. However, TLC is still doing a good job with lots of good civilian stuff but I they hold back on fire and police for the next few years. Couldn't everything you have in the "other" category also be classified as "civilian"?

PETITION to keep the Pirates theme beyond 2010
Kaptin_BarfBeerd replied to Zorro's topic in LEGO Pirates
Signed The first wave didn't have many sets and definately needs expanding. I'm hoping the POC license gets dropped quickly so we can see more Lego Pirates in future. Really wish Lego would stop going overboard on the licensed themes -
Really spiffy MOC there, I really like how you made the tree and how you used the roadside weeds. It really gives the pictures some great detail. Just a quick question though. What are the two commandos hiding in? It looks to me like it could be a coal storage pit or a derelict log cabin. Just wanted to know what you had in mind when you made it

I have to agree with some points here. A while back I got the 7993 Service Station and found that the open back in the shop with that set made animating on the set more convenient. However if you are not animating and the building is used for display or a picture, then I don't like open backed buildings either. Looks like the architect got lazy It's a good thing Lego can always be modded to suit our purposes though

Awesome MOC, nice to see some people still remember this great cartoon :) Are you planning on making a GIR MOC? Maybe with a rubber piggy or a taco? :) TAAAAAAACOOOOOOOOOOS!!!!!!

Cleaning and straightening out your sails
Kaptin_BarfBeerd replied to Medievalego's topic in LEGO Pirates
When I shipped my Lego overseas 15 years ago, the sails for my BSB have more creases than something with a lot of creases. My mum suggested ironing them but I never did because like everyone said, afraid of damaging them. Has anyone tried ironing the sails? -
It looks to me more like an island guardpost. WHat does the fortress actually have? I see a watchtower, a crane, a holding cell and ummmmmm a palm tree. In the pirate comic, it was a main base though

LEGO.com Official Pirates Page Has Appeared
Kaptin_BarfBeerd replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Pirates
Yesss!!! it's finally up!!! I clicked the link yesterday morning but got the line 404 not found error, glad it's up now. It's really winding me up knowing that the new pirate line is only available in the US so far, does anyone know when they will be coming out to China? I've been checking the toy shops here but not having any luck. I think TLC is deliberately teasing us by biding their time like this -
Thats a really good looking MOC, I really like the way you crafted the rock formation and the steps leading up!! Though to get the treasure up there, those pirates must be really strong
