  1. I find it so interesting that Lego decided to screw the heads together. Is this the first time they've used screws in a set? (I suspect they might of done so in Galidor, but I never had any play experience with those.) Anyone else look at Batman's jawline and think: That's not Batman! That's Superman in Batman's costume! Wear your own costume, Clark! ?
  2. He does have a kind of movieverse Bumblebee look. XD Was kind of curious, but is anyone else not seeing the new Hero Factory sets on ToysRus.com anymore?
  3. First I have to say: that Police Rockmonster is great. Onto the topic at hand, finally gave LDD Manager a try, as I want to Pick A Brick my parts as opposed to using the "Design By Me" service. Works pretty nifty. (I kind of think this topic should be pinned, since it's such a handy tool.) Only thing is, it takes a while to copy & paste all the element numbers into the P-A-B search, so I was curious, would it be possible to make the Element numbers click-able, like the Bricklink item#, that would link to the Pick A Brick search with the element ID already input?
  4. Wow. I can't get over how many base plates it uses. Great review! So far, I've only built the Space Needle set, but I've picked up Falling Water and Rockefeller center, as well. Depending on when I have some extra funds, I might pick this one up, too.
  5. Pretty stellar work. :D Any chance you might be able to provide a parts breakdown so folks can (maybe) build it in LDD once Recon Team comes about? Also, if anyone is curious: this is what it's supposed to look in the film. http://www.wetanz.com/the-exosuit/
  6. Hey hey guys. Got in my Toys R Us order of Hero Factory 2.0 earlier today. Just got the shipping box open, so I haven't had a chance to open 'em up yet. Here's the set UPCs and Item numbers, in case it'll help with local searches. Nex: 2.0 Item: 4611669 UPC: 6 73419 14541 1 Evo 2.0: Item: 4611667 UPC: 6 73419 14540 4 Surge 2.0: Item: 4611672 UPC: 6 73419 14542 8 Furno 2.0: Item: 4611664 UPC: 6 73419 14539 8 Stormer 2.0: Item: 4611642 UPC: 6 73419 14538 1 Breeze 2.0: Item: 4911675 UPC: 6 73419 14543 5 Jetbug: Item: 4611008 UPC: 6 73419 14392 9 Drilldozer: Item: 4611003 UPC: 6 73419 14390 5 Nitroblast: Item: 4611013 UPC: 6 73419 14394 3 Fire Lord: Item: 4611114 UPC: 6 73419 14425 4 I'm not sure what the Item # is used for, but they're located over the UPC box. Just listed them in case some shops might be able to do a look up by that. Happy hunting!
  7. Hey folks. In order to help out with the new toy hunt, I'm providing the UPC numbers for new sets. This works(for me, at least!) in looking for new toys at Target and Toys R Us, but mileage might vary at Wal-Mart. They usually have to have the UPC on hand to scan to see if they have it in stock. Just ask for a UPC number lookup. Creator 5764 Rescue Robot UPC #: 6 73419 14383 7
  8. Greetings fellow desert explorers (and toy hunters)! Ran by Toys R Us (still hunting for Hero Factory), found the whole set of Pharaoh's Quest lineup. Picked up two PQ sets, and a Atlantis set. Due to my iPhone pics being not very popular with the Atlantis crowd, I'm still doing some re-arranging to set up a decent workspace for my main camera. As said in the Atlantis topics, I'm providing the UPC numbers to hopefully help folks search for them. (Works at Target and Toys R Us, but mileage might vary at Wal-Mart. Last I tried it there, they had to have the UPC on hand to do a scan, which defeats the purpose of just asking for a UPC lookup with the number.) Pharaoh's Quest 7305 Scarab Attack UPC #: 6 73419 14510 7 Pharaoh's Quest 7326 Rise of the Sphinx UPC #: 6 73419 14514 5
  9. Hey guys. Still hunting for Hero Factory, ran by Toys R Us again. Picked up another Atlantis (and two Pharaoh's Quest) sets, the Seabed Strider. Since the iPhone pics weren't too popular, I'm still trying to get things re-arranged to use my main camera. In the meantime, hopefully this will help in the search. (I use these to find new Transformers, and other toys, and it seems to work well enough at Target and Toys R US.) Atlantis 7977 Seabed Strider UPC #: 6 73419 14397 4 I'd include the Angler Attack UPC, but it seems like I've already tossed the box. Just ask the folks at the store if they can do a product look-up by UPC. (Might not work at Wal-Mart, it's been a while since I've asked there cause they usually have to have the UPC # on hand to do a product look up.)
  10. Nope, I'm located in Texas. I'll try and get a photo set / review once I get my camera set up again.
  11. Totally dried blood. I say this with certainty, due to the fact he's Lego Bruce Willis. (okay, he's not...but you gotta admit, there's a resemblance to Die Hard era Bruce Willis.)
  12. 7978 Angler Attack $19.99 at Toys R Us 201 pieces, 2 minifigures Box: Measures 10 inches tall, about 11 inches wide, and a little over an inch deep. Opened by slicing the tape on the back at either of the sides. (If you do both, the box collapses nice and flat.) Contents: Bag 1 Bag 2 Bag 3 For the contents, you get three plastic bags full of pieces, an instruction booklet, and a sheet of decals. The parts are split amongst the bags, so you can’t open one and get to building. You have to empty out all three. As far as new pieces go, I'm kind of behind on Lego system sets, so I'm not actually sure what's new. The parts I haven't seen in any of my sets is the shark teeth, and Doc's camera. I've opted to forgo placing the stickers on the set, but I might place them in the future. The gritty texture on the Angler's stickers are neat, though. (Not a fan of the bubbles on the undersea vehicle stickers.) Minifigures: You get Doc, and who I've been calling Fishman. Doc has a dual-print head (one plain reaction, the other frightened), and Fishman has a mouth on his belly. (Guess he doesn’t like to wait to digest.) The mouth print isn't really needed, it's really obscured by the Fishman's headpiece. Display / Playset: I really like this part of the set. Just looks neat with the tipped over column. You can also set it back up. The Trunk holds two jewels (1 blue, 1 green), the guard helmet (which has a really neat aged look and feel to it), and a few of the remaining pieces left over. The undersea vehicle, is a quick and simple build. The propeller spins, manually, it has a harpoon launcher and robotic arm on the sides. Now, onto the meat of the set, the Angler. For some reason, I was expecting a really complex build for this guy, but he wasn't. He was pretty simple and straight forward. It's interesting that Lego gave him some really colorful guts. It's pretty well hidden once you've finished building the body, though. I also found the way the eyes were built to be pretty interesting: As for the finished fish: Ain't it a beaut? Looks almost like you could mount it on your wall. (Though, I'm not sure you'd want to. Kind of hard to play with that way.) The only things that really knock this set for me is the gold tooth, and the peg on the jaw, that's used to trigger the opening and closing mouth. The peg keeps the Angler from resting flat, and leaves it tilted to a side. Here's the finished components all together: You'll notice you'll have a few parts left over. There's a few parts you can drop on the angler, like the clear 1x1 studs can give him a jeweled belly, and the rest can be dropped into the trunk. My closing thoughts on this set: I wasn't actually sure about picking it up, due to it not being 2011 Hero Factory, I'm glad I did. It was an enjoyable, non-frustrating, and relaxing build. If you're a fan of undersea critters, themes or Atlantis in general, I recommend it. So, how'd I do for my first review here? How were the pictures? (They were taken with my iPhone4. My digital camera has to be plugged into the wall. I t guzzles batteries like batteries are going out of style, and I wasn't sure I could snake (fish?) everything over to the coffee table. ) Thanks for looking and reading!
  13. Will do. Got most of the pieces photographed, though, I haven't done a review on this site before. I do post the review in this topic, or create a new topic for the item being reviewed? Thanks!
  14. Hey guys. Went to TRU to see if I could find any Hero Factory 2011 sets (no luck), but did spot a Atlantis 2011 set, and this Creator robot. Wasn't sure if it was actually new, so I didn't get a in-the-wild picture. I did pick it up, though. Happy hunting!
  15. Hey guys. Ran over to Toys R Us today to see if they had any new Hero Factory out yet. No luck there, but did spot (and ended up getting) Angler Attack. Just got home, haven't had a chance to unload my bag yet, so here's some "in the wild" shots. Also picked up a Creator robot set, but didn't take any wild pics of it, since I'm not sure it's 2011. (I'll go check that topic next) Happy hunting!
  16. Saw an empty display for these at Target yesterday. Talked to a guy working on the floor, to see if they hadn't been put out yet (or were just sold out). He told me someone in the stock room didn't realize what they were, and threw the entire box out. Good to see how it's packaged and how the other side looks built. (the display only shows one side of it. Oddly, they have the Target logo side pointed towards the display, so it can't been seen. )
  17. For the folks that might be interested, Cryoshell released on Jan. 1st 2010, "Creeping in My Soul" EP on iTunes, for $3.99 It consists of Creeping In My Soul, Bye Bye Babylon, Falling (Original tune?), Closer to the Truth (Take Me Home) and Murky (another original tune?). Taaron
  18. Wow. Nice work...certainly one of the best Lego Sonic builds I've seen. You should drop AzureBlaze an email over at Sonic Gear, and get it posted on the site's Fan Creations section.
  19. Gonna agree with these two. Ninjas and Samurai were during my Lego "Dark-Ages" so I missed out on 'em. For Technic, I'd kind of like to see Lego do a stand-alone(in place of a series) Throw-bot/Slizer & Robo-Rider set, but updated to have modern articulation. (Please don't throw bricks at me, for they'll hurt when I walk away! ) Throw-Bots & Robo-Riders were the first set that broke my Lego "Dark-ages" before Bionicle came out. If not that, I'd like to see the Technic 'figures'. They seem really interesting. It'd be nice if they did new Technic figures based off Minifigs like Exo-Force, Knights Kingdom/Castle, or Space. That's kinda my wishlist.
  20. Hi guys! Long time lurker, first time poster. Gotta say off the bat, thanks for the pictures of the Police car, ILikePi. It really helped when it came to putting the Siren label on the toy. (Too lazy to go into the kitchen and check the cereal box.) Maybe cause it's produced by Lego? Anyhow, I gotta stick up for Lego on this promotion. By getting a slight taste with the Cereal Racers, it made me want to get a full set, when I would of probably passed up this year's Racers line. (ended up getting Desert Challenge. Nifty set.) Just wondering, has anyone got a full set of six? So far, I've managed to get 33/Cheerios(1st, from Cookie Crisp. ), Turbo/2fast4u(2nd, Cookie Crisp again), and Police from a box of Cheerios earlier tonight. While I didn't set out to collect the whole set, I'm hoping I can. (I'm also hoping for some duplicates so I can scan the decal sheets. That, and I think they'd be fun to customize other toys with.) Well, nice to meet ya'll, and happy hunting/collecting! Taaron
