Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
iambob13 replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not entirely sure if you're saying the tail piece would be goog for both The Lizard AND Croc, but Croc doesn't have a tail. I can't be positive that he was never drawn with one, but he didn't have one in the animated series, arkham asylum, or the first Batman series. Less than a month to go. I'm very eager to see some pics. Hopefully they pull through for us. -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

I don't remember hearing anything about penguin in the freeze set. Possibly way, WAY back after seeing the first minifig images, but anything said about it was only fan speculation. I don't recall anything of the sort, though, and I'm only following two threads at the moment. Both of them being the superhero threads. I think lots of people relegated him to the arkham set before as I don't remember him being mentioned in speculation as a set on his own until recently. Please correct me if I am wrong, though. -

Love that Mr. Freeze ice sled thingamajig. It just looks cool. The Bane punch tank is really fun but is missing mass. The large drill looks better. Not as fun but better. This line has a bright future with cool concepts like those. -

We'll definitely get one with Avengers 2. I think I'll wait to pick one up until then. The current set doesn't seem too appealing and rehashes Loki and hawkeye. Thor's coming in that polybag so... All this new stuff sounds great. I'm eager to see pics. -
There was also an X-Men anime the same time there was the Wolverine one. I never watched the X-Men show. Heard good things about it. I, unfortunately, watched the first few minutes of ep1 of that wolverine anime. I couldn't get past the scuba-diving, jetpack-wearing ninjas and the yaoi-like look of wolverine. I mean really? Scuba ninjas with jetpacks? And machine guns. I don't want to forget the machine guns. Awful. Maybe if they get on Netflix I'll give them a try. That being said, comic based sets would be best. Most stuff done in any of the cartoon shows was most likely down in the comics already. Also, I want to see full team roster special editions sets of specific time periods some time in the future, and I still think TLG needs to have a Stan Lee minifig in a set.
-
Well, as I said before he could be a civilian, too. I don't think it matters too much for some sort of screen accuracy. Just put him in there, TLG. He's played a civilian several times. Guess who superheroes save a lot... Civilians. Works perfect for me. It would be best to have him in some sort of clothing or style that he's known for, though. Heck. Just make the face printing and then Stan "The Man" could pop up anywhere just like in the movies.
-
Well, I think the big difference with Stan Lee is that his thing is to cameo in a bunch of these movies. Maybe TLG will imitate that with him making a cameo in a set or two. A longshot, I know, but it would be awesome if it happened. Where are the ambassadors? They need to mention this to someone with TLG.
-
One word for those future minifigs: EXCELSIOR! It would most likely be an exclusive if ever made, but I think that Stan Lee should be immortalized in plastic as a minifig. On second thought, he makes so many cameos in these movies they could just make him as one of the citizens that a hero has to save. That would be gold TLG. GOLD! Please, LEGO. Please?

I don't think it's any different than Star Wars. That can get pretty violent at time. The clone wars movie had four severed heads delivered to Jabba practically on a platter. Not to mention the number of troopers who get killed on screen, and I almost forgot about the flamethrower troopers burning aliens alive. We still get numerous sets from it. There also Mars Mission where it seems the whole point is to kidnap aliens and pillage their lands of minerals. I don't think Space Marines will have an issue for supposed violence. Though LEGO has always said they want to stay away from military ideas. That's why we won't see war vehicles like from WWII. Yet, again, we still get Star Wars sets of war vehicles.

That's what I was saying. I've not seen anyone actually associated with one of the LEGO fan sites reporting about this other than a he said/she said repost of something else. Could someone who has connections ask some questions? That's a nice looking Electrosuit Batman. I hope the book is very successful and we can get other suits.

Was it ever said by an actual Lego news site that TLG would be producing DKR sets? And I don't mean reposted on a Lego site, but someone actually did some legwork and interviewed someone that has a clue. I think this is most likely AFOLs getting overly excited and reading too much into what someone, who doesn't know the difference between a normal Lego Batman set and a DKR set, mentioned in an interview. The person probably just mentioned sets based on Batman were coming out. Neither side of the interview probably knew or had a clue there was a difference. Cartoon-ish eyes? That's straight comicbook there. He should have large and very expressive eyes. That's the Spidey I know and love.
-
Woah! That's a good way for TLG to get me to pass on more sets... add giant, buildable spiders. No thanks. Bricks or not, there will not be any giant spiders in my collection.

I'm liking that Spider-Man and Iron Fist. Spidey looks way better than the movie version from several years ago. The majority of blue and large eyes make this a buy. It would be nice to get some emoting eye prints in future sets or minifig releases. I'm indifferent to the lab playset. It doesn't look stellar, but it's not absolutely awful. That Doc Ock is, though. The only thing that says this is him are the mechanical arms. I blame the show creators, though. I'd like to know the reasoning for the design. I really want to see Nova in a future set, but they'll probably throw in Luke Cage. No problem if it's a good comic version, but they'll probably keep the animated look. Not a fan.

Actually, a train set with Superman would be awesome. It might only have to be the engine and 1 car, but it could be the scene where he either stops a train or completes the track for the train like in the movie even if that scene didn't And much sense.

Yeah, I would be MORE than appreciative just to be given something early like that. As someone else said, these are toys in the end. What if a kid for some reason just decided that the thing they way most is a Captain Marvel minifig. Too bad, son. You're SOL. Nobody in their right mind would pay that kind of money for a minifig just to give it to a kid.

I agree with Faefrost. The Warner people are most likely the ones to have come up with this. I just find it awfully silly that there is no way to get one of these without being in the room and even then extremely lucky. Something like this should be made available through S@H with a certain dollar amount purchase, or even keep it in Warner's corner and have it as an extra wih the DVD set. You'd make a ton of extra sales off of that right there. Lego needs to stop making 'exclusives' and instead make 'early release' items. "Thanks for coming to our booth at SDCC. Would you like one of our 'early release' minifigs? They will eventually be widely available, but, as an SDCC attendee, you get them first." Then have them released as either a part of a set or polybag 6 months or so down the line.
-
I think there is at least one pic, but it could have been photoshopped. Do we know yet if the minifig will be coming with the backpack? It would be a bit of a let down if it didn't, or at least give instructions and piece numbers so people could make their own.
-
Most definitely. I see it being Marvel Ultimate Alliance in LEGO form. Which wouldn't really be bad as both of those and the X-Men legends games were great. I'm with ^^^ that guy, though. Hopefully we don't see it until next summer for when Thor 2 and IM 3 hit theaters.

Obviously. Kids will know the cartoons the most. The comics are aimed at kids and adults that are fairly out of the actual range that LEGO markets to. Unfortunately, the flipping' cartoons can't seem to last very long. Wolverine and the X-Men wasn't outstanding, but it was good and fun to watch. The last cartoon before that was the X-Men Evolutions, I think, but that seems too old for kids to know about unless they caught it on Netflix. The movies are out of the question, but a loose basis could be made as anything in the movie must have shown up at some point in other media. Anyways, if we take that most recent toon, wolverine/X-Men, Kitty was a main character. I may have to catch it again, but she got a lot more screen time than either frost or jean. Also, pretty much every character from the beginning is still used in each form of media. Very few have permanently died or left for whatever reason. Now if you wanted to argue costumes then I get it. I'd love for those to be released as some sort of store or convention exclusive. Less so the convention, though. They would be ridiculously expensive.
-
Original X-Men, please. Start there and release a set with each roster from every era. What? I can be just as wishful as anyone else on this board. :) I'm not sure that mystique and frost should come before kitty. Kitty's been an X-Man much longer. If its because of current comics then only frost should be made. I think she's the only one currently in the comics, but I've got a lot of catching up to do.

The GameStop thing is over. I pIcked up my copy and minifig yesterday. I got the villains dlc, too. I asked Sunday about possibly getting an extra minifig as I'd like one to open and one to keep sealed. They said there would be a possibility as they had about 50 preorders and about 70 minifigs. Then I pick it up and the story has changed to they don't have enough. The guy ringing up the order, though, said you had to preorder by a certain date to get the minifig. So I don't understand how they didn't have more exact numbers two days before release. I was pretty bummed. I should have preordered two and sold the extra copy. And to whoever said a Beta Ray Bill would be awesome, I completely agree. I really enjoyed seeing him in the Planet Hulk movie.

I think someone already made a post similar to this one. I believe it was stated that they already got blade and daredevil back. I think Elektra may be included as well it has to have been 5 years since that film was made. It was mentioned that FF has been about 5 years, too, but the studio only has to have a working title and a writer attached. I think that's some BS. Whoever wrote these contracts or allowed them to be signed off on needs to be fired. That's a very dumb move. I don't think I want to see the FF as teenagers. I already thought that, while hot, Jessica alba seemed a bit too young to pull off a Susan Storm. I'm more than fine with comic bases sets.
-
Should we go ahead and start jumping to conclusions about what kind of sets we might get? YES! I think they need a tony stark with sports car and Happy Hogan driver (riding in the passenger seat). I also think that we need an Agent Colson fig to pay tribute to his character in all the films.
-
Yep. I can see this fig getting up there in price. I expect $25-$30, but I can see it going for more than $50. By then you should have just gotten the game. Heck, you could have probably sold the game unopened soon after getting it for $40 or $45. Makes it a pretty cheap exclusive. Today's your last day to preorder, I think. It comes out tomorrow.
-
Everyone can get it. They just have to either get the game or brick link/eBay it. I'm surprised they already gave it to you. I'll be getting mine Tuesday with my copy ofthe game. This looks great. Thanks for the review. There's a 5 minute trailer or intro movie available on YouTube. It tells exactly why Lex and Joker team up, but it sounds like you might have already found out why they team up. It's very good. I hope they make the helicopter that Lex uses. It looks pretty awesome.
