  1. Welcome! Says I, that haven't been here a week yet :-) Goto http://news.lugnet.com/loc/se/ for Swelug news!
  2. http://news.lugnet.com/loc/se/ är den säkraste platsen för att ha koll på sådant. Lite dött bara, fyll gärna på där också!
  3. I think I qualify now, with the new rules. I'm in! Edit: Darn, I don't know what time I registered... It's the same date, so I'm probably out :-(
  4. Well, I have received about 300-400 bricks and a wall full of postcards from BlockCAD users. There's also a bunch of computer magazines that have written about it, and/or featured it on CD. Some of them (magazines) has even paid for the publishing rights. The best thing is when I hear from schools that they are using BlockCAD, both as a pastime and as a tool for lessons in 3D visualization or a first introduction to CAD programs. I believe BlockCAD is used on all continents of the globe, except for Antarctica :-)
  5. Oct 30 to Nov 2, I arranged a meeting for Swedish AFOLs in my home town, Eskilstuna. This was the third time I arranged something, and the 9:th 'official' meeting of this particular group of AFOLs. We're not really organized, but meet under the SWELUG name, hoping that someone will organize the group more formally some day in the future... This meeting was (in my view) a complete success. Thanks to sponsoring from LEGO (arranged by copmike) we had lots of LEGO boxes to present to the winners of the different competitions and lots of bricks for the kids to play with. And, thanks to AFOL Olof also the adults had lots of LEGO to play with. Another high point was that former LEGO designer, Nathanael Kuipers, who works with other designs in Sweden for the moment, was able to come too. We were all very interested in his models, and to talk about LEGO design with him. With a total of 32 different people visiting more or less during the weekend, I believe this was the largest SWELUG meet so far. The core group (staying all the time from Friday evening to Sunday lunch) were about 10 people, seven of them sleeping in my cellar. We did lots of talk, speed building both for adults and kids, blind building, relay building and free building, but the main event was the ULV (Ultimate Lego Vehicle) competition. We ran a shortened version of Friday evening, and had the big one on Saturday. All in all, I had a great time, the biggest disappointment was that I didn't win any of the nice sets (I really have to design a better car next year!). But I'm happy for the winners (and the losers, too!). 6. Hello all! My name is Anders Isaksson, I'm new in this forum, but I'm old in other respects. 54 years of life, ~12-15 years of internet Lego (I don't actually remember when I started). You may have seen me post on rec.toys.lego in the old days, and on lugnet since it started. I'm from Sweden, and is probably (hopefully) best known as the creator of the BlockCAD Lego drawing program. With real Lego, I'm mostly into small scale building (as I don't have that many bricks). Another large part of my computer time is spent in the Transport Tycoon community or working on my endless project there, Swedish Trains. Real Life (wife, three kids, house, work, relatives, etc.) takes most of my time, but I like to sit down at the computer and browse other's MOCs and think "some people have much too much Lego" :-)
