  1. don't forget to build your mega moc with your back on the exit door direction... or you'll end struck inside your room with no way out! very good! phone and atm boot have a stealabe interesting design, but I personally would change the orientation of the 1x1 corner wall element in the atm. hope to see many updates soon! have a nice lego day mrBlue
  2. those chairs and tables of the bistro, are really a masterpiece. too bad the whole diorama is a masterpiece itself!!! a truly piece of art! and a wonderful idea is to make only the facades... may be useful on the back of some bigger layouts! great works! have a nice lego day mrBlue
  3. this model has the IR connected to the battery box and from there one plug goes to the motor and from the other plug, two cables to the lights. it is working like the emerald, you control the speed and the light separately. I was thinking to connect everything one one plug, but there is not enough height, otherwise I'll have to put the IR a bit lower, but then, I'll have less space to store the cables, so I'll maybe connect the front light with the motor and the back to the other plug. no chance to see it running for a long while, until I'll have space to build my layout. have a nice train lego day mrBlue
  4. I remember those residential areas when I have been to your country and I have seen some in the USA as well. I still remember when I had the chance to buy that set, but a voice from inside said "oh... no need to buy that... you'll find it again next time...", but now it's too late! I just think that because if I'm not wrong you have 4 or 5 of them and I think that the alternate versions share an equally good design! have a nice train lego day mrBlue
  5. what a big and busy town! it seems really alive with all those trucks and people "working"! one thing I would change are the creators sets on the back; I've seen you have quite a lot of them! I would build all the three house models and with the (lots of) left bricks I would moc another house. in this way you would end with a more diversified sight. have a nice train lego day (I'm sure you'll have it!) mrBlue
  6. didn't try yet, because almost 98% of my lego is already packed ready to move. I need this particular thing because in my (future) layout, I planned a 12v setup with an old X cross (I have 2, but cannot find a suitable solution with both) and to reach a part inside that loop, the only accessible way is through a curved part. I tried other solutions, but I would need more space and more tracks (that I don't have or want to buy). as soon as I'll have chance I'll make a test, but first I wanted to know if someone already had my same "logistic problem" have a nice train lego day mrBlue
  7. thanks to everyone! yes, there is no space left for a driver, but even if I could find a little place, it seems that nobody wants the job, as Legoless said, because my minifigs are too much worried for their heads and they said they would have make a long strike! hopefully I have a remote control, so I'll do the job by myself! yes, it is inspired by the one from Carl Greatrix! I tried the 7 or 8 wide cab, but the result was too large compared to the overall length. have a nice train lego day mrBlue
  8. very realistic mod! I'm quite sure that if lego decided to make the same engine in two colors, I would have bought this too! have a nice lego train day mrBlue
  9. flex track will be a very welcome addition! especially now that I'm planning my new layout and I have some trouble connecting some rails. I think it would be good enough (imho) to have it in its 2 configurations (straight or curved) instead of a really flex one! thank you for your great software! have a nice lego day mrBlue
  10. after some attempts, I came out with this... before realizing that I have to put it on a curved 12v track anyway, making a 12v one should be easier using 1x4/1x3 tiles on 1x2 tiles with center stud and also due to the fact of the center power line that helps if it is not fully tiled. have a nice train lego day mrBlue edit: spelling check
  11. I need to make a level crossing on a curved track. I surfed around flickr, brickshelf, mocpages, google... could not find anything. I know it would not be much realistic, but unfortunately I need to make one and I cannot find any good solution. any idea? have a nice lego train day mrBlue
  12. I don't think that the new harbor set is that bad. the trouble is the price! it's far too expensive for what you get, and imho I would have concentrate more on the container business instead of the coal one. in my future layout there is no plan to integrate an harbour, but actually I should say there WAS no plan! after looking/reading some posts, I think that I should look for a place to set a small train to boat area, unfortunately the piers will have to be brick built, because the once available 16x32 raised baseplates are no more available or too expensive on bricklink. have a nice lego day mrBlue
  13. benvenuto! welcome to our community! have a nice lego day mrBlue
  14. I also think that prices for new or used are way too high, so I am one of those who bought bricks through bricklink to build two of them. as you said, those sliding doors seems to be the most expensive parts, and also the other doors and windows are not so easy to find (at least new), but you can still make some mod and get a nice moc. I have made also an LDD file for a train shed based on the original one, but made with only available "pick a brick" bricks. too bad TLG still have to surprise us with a revised version, but my feeling is that we will not have to wait for long. anyway, the emerald doesn't fit, too long and too wide, all the other engines available now can fit, at least in the "long" configuration. it can accomodate 1 loco 4 tracks long or 2 locos 2 tracks long. have a nice lego train day mrBlue
  15. HELLO! here I am back again with another LDD moc that got life in true bricks! in a 6x16 space I have been able to fit engine, IR, battery box and lights! front and back lights! the model is based on a MOC by Carl Greatrix, but stuffed with PF instead of 9v motor which si no more easy accessible by everyone. this MOC has working doors and the battery box is easy to remove to change batteries. LDD file can be found here. as usual, I'm looking forward for any comments or suggestion have a nice lego train day mrBlue
  16. well, what to say? I'm happy to be the first who post... but, you left me speechless... I can only say WOW !!! beautiful, outside and inside too, with genius ideas for the furniture. includinv the toilet (with the door) and the stairs to the upper floor make this creation jumps to an higher level! I never liked the fact that lego didn't include these details in many buildings, but we have to consider also the play feature, but in my mocs, I jalways tried to include stairs, inner walls and so on, but your moc goes beyond my imagination! thumbs up! very good job! is there a way to have the mlcad file? have a nice lego day mrBlue
  17. hello! sorry to bother you. do you think it would be possible to have a pic of the undercarriage part of your unbelievanle small steam loco vulcan iron 0-4-0T? I would like to understand better how pf motor transfer the power to the wheels. thank you in advance.

  18. when I said 7wide I had in mind the loco from jayhurst that has been posted few posts ago, which is another example of fitting lots of pf stuff in an even more compact design! have a nice lego train day mrBlue edit: spelling check
  19. buy it before it's too late! you still have time before hp castle goes out of production, and I'm quite sure you'll have chance to find the hp line on discount sooner or later, but no chance to see anything off the medieval market village! what??? you still here reading??? GO GO GO before the store is closed! have a nice lego day mrBlue
  20. actually it's 6 wide the boiler and 7 wide the cabin! it's unbelievable how to fit everything there, but during the past days I tried to "copy" that design and I finally made it! it's a wonderful loco even if I'm not a fan of 7 or 8 wide trains, I think it's one of the best small engine I've ever seen. next days I will try to build my own copy. have a nice lego train day mrBlue
  21. it seems like other brands that became normal words, like kleenex for handkerchiefs, or kellogs for cereals. we should be happy! lego for building toys! have a nice lego day mrBlue
  22. very good article! too bad there are no more like this covering other classic themes... (hint) anyway, I gave my vote to the 2nd answer, but I was tempted by the 1st too! classic lego houses, with furniture and no back wall are a good example of quality (front) and playability (back), but with modern techniques and beautiful interiors we started to get used since few years ago, I think I can handle the lack of the missing back wall. I'm no more used to play with lego, and as an afol, I also prefer to look at my sets and knowing the roofs can be removed to access inside, compensate the back play feature of the past. my only disappointment have been with the café corner interior, though lego realized their mistake and fixed the problem in the following sets. as time passed by, lego became more expensive, also because of the piece count, but a good creator house, still is a beautiful house, so for me it's fine! have a nice lego day mrBlue
  23. I used to buy from lego s@h, but after finding bricklink, my life changed! there are many stores in italy that have really cheap prices and they are all managed by really nice people! try some of them, you'll not be disappointed. also stores outside italy may be good (I buy mainly from italy and germany, but sometimes from US), but sometimes the shipment cost may lower the good price a bit, and also, don't forget that italian customs (almost always) charge an import tax that can even make some shipment more expensive than lego s@h, but if you need some particular brick, well, you have no choice! have a nice lego day mrBlue
  24. what about the old 4,5 technic motor? this one. if you have that old train motor, there are chances that you also have this old motor too. using some tricks you should be able to transfer power to the wheels in a emerald night like way, and with turntables you can make the front and rear loco wheels moving enough to take "corners". and also, don't forget you still have plenty of time before christmas to improve your mod. have a nice lego train day mrBlue edit: spelling check
  25. a good setup can be: open a box of each kind and send the left ones to my address, I'll take care of them!
