  1. I had to vote for Threepio. I was lucky the other day and found a Vader in one of the sets I bought. Besides I think the Threepio makes more sense as he really is chrome in the movies. But I guess it is okay for Vader to get out the bling .
  2. I will throw my hat into the fray. I can say without a doubt that you could weigh the boxes to find a Vader. He has to add weight to the set. It just makes sense. All you would need is a digital postage scale. The box that weighs more has the Vader inside. Pretty simple really.
  3. Ahsoka never saw it coming. Nice amount of gore . I really like the blaster shots. Very effective.
  4. I am so glad that I had a rewards card from the Lego store for the solar sailer. I never would have bought it if I didn't. $75 is too much.
  5. Made a trip to a Lego store and picked up Count Dooku's Solar Sailer and a bunch of Cannon battles with a rewards stamp gift card I had. Also picked up Ahsoka's starfighter. Today I bought Brickbeard's Bounty and Shipwreck hideout. I will have to take my reciept back though to get my discount when they go on sale this weekend. Also couldn't pass on Sponge Bob's boating school for $10! I kind of went nuts this week on Lego. I will have to stop for a while now. Cheers!
  6. Thought I would keep our thread going with some Canadian sale news. First off TRU is having a 25% off sale starting on Feb 6th. You have to buy 2 or more sets and it is valid on all Power Miners, Starwars, Pirates and City. I believe this should be Canada wide. Second your MMV but Walmart has the Sponge Bob boating school on for $10. I couldn't even pass that up. My store has a whole endcap full of them. I might just go back for some more. As for the Lego back up. I can believe it. I was just at a Lego store in the states recently and I think even they are having trouble with stock. Very few of the new sets available. I found more variety at the TRU down there. I just was not going to pay the higher prices. Also my local independant toystore has been waiting for thier Lego shipment for almost a month now. Too bad as I like to give him the business. Cheers!
  7. Nice review. Sadly I didn't get this one for $50 but at least I still got 20% off. However I still think it is a great set at that price with a nice little army to defend it. I really quite like the two front towers. Something about the rock outcroppings I think.
  8. I am really looking forward to picking this set up. I see a trip to the Bellevue Legostore at the end of the month. I can only hope that they will have some in stock. I can finally redeem my gift card!
  9. I just picked up the last two Clone Walker battle packs at TRU on Broadway (Vancouver). Nice little sets. Best thing about them is that the assessories for the Clone commander are now Black instead of grey. I much prefer the two black blasters to the old grey ones. Oh and as for our Health care for all. Be prepared to wait. I am currently having to deal with all those long lines and wait lists right now. Very frustrating to say the least. However, I am still grateful to have our health care system. It still works, just a little slowly.
  10. I was just in a Toys R Us here in Vancouver today and saw all of the sets that were pictured in the flyer aswell as the two pirates impulse sets, which I had to buy. I will agonizingly wait until boxing day and pick up the rest of the Pirates, hopefully on sale too.
  11. I had to vote Agents as the best new theme. Some excellent sets with great designs a very good value for the dollar IMHO. However I have to say that the City theme continues to be the best theme of them all. I think there is something for everyone in the City line-up. I am biased though. I my recycle truck. Star Wars was close to being the best theme in my mind with the release of the Death Star which I think is one of the best builds I have ever done.
  12. I love all the great little details. Every table tells its own story. This would be a top notch MOC even without the hideout. Add it and (pardon the pun) a new level is added. I love the patrons who had a hard time holding their ale. Hehehe!
  13. Great review. I continue to be impressed by the TLG with these new Pirate sets. Outstanding composition, lots of minifigs and some great pieces to add to the collection. I really look forward to seeing this soon in stores here in Canada.
  14. Ha ha! Poor Knight. The Monkies got the better of him. I really like your design and how all the elements draw your eyes up. Plus, the stacked furniture is great. Exacty how I would imagine how an angry knight would try to get at the Monkies on the chandelier. Grab whatever he could in the room and stack it up. just for the Monkies.
  15. Fantastic! Too many great details to list. Although I am quite partial to the Grandfather Clock.
  16. Thank you all for such a warm welcome! My favorite theme. Whoops! Dropped the ball on that one. Well I quite enjoy Star Wars, but I would have to say I still prefer the original Lego themes of Castle, Pirates, City and the original Space line from the 80's. All in all though I will work with any of them. Right now I am most looking forward to the new Pirates line in the new year. Lego does a great job of draining my wallet. Heck, even today I bought more orc warrior impulse sets. Can't beat 20% off. Cheers.
  17. This is a great topic and fully demonstrates the passion that I think we all have for the Lego brick. I honestly don't think that TLG has anything to be worried about. I live in Canada, said home of Mega Blocks, and even at the Walmarts and Toys R Us's, Lego has the biggest presence. Aside from the obvious quality difference between the two brands, it is Lego's commitment to customer service that will always be their strength. As long as they continue to make a high quality product and promote it as such they will continue to do well. That is not to say that TLG can sit idle. They will have to continue to connect with their customer and respond to their needs and wants. This is something that Lego has done well in recent years and I believe will continue to do. Cheers!
  18. Wonderful review. I picked this up back on release day at the Bellevue Lego store in Washington state. If you can believe it I waited a month before I built it. It sat downstairs in its original shipping box as I had to clean up some other sets that I was in middle of. I really can't add much to what has already been said other than if there is one set that I think is a must have for the Star Wars line it is this. The only thing about completing it is that I felt somewhat sad for it was one of the best builds I have done in a long time. By the way that link was great! I couldn't stop laughing. Cheers.
  19. Hello from the other side of the pond! I have lurked on Eurobricks for a while now and finally decided to register. First before I get to myself I would like to say that I am quite humbled by all the incredable builders in this community. Needless to say this is what made me join. I hope that I can at some point contribute in the same way as so many of you. Let me see now. I am Canadian Eh! I have been building for over 30 years, but only as of the last year or so have I really rediscovered the love of the brick. Besides Lego, I enjoy watching movies, playing videogames and a bit of cycling when it is not raining out here in Vancouver. Anywho, I look forward to chating with other members here and making some new friends. Cheers!
