  1. Really great! I love the functional interiors, and the minifigures are perfect. Colors are smooth and pleasant to look at and your recognizable style shines through.
  2. I use LifeLites, they're designed for Lego uses and are quite masterfully done.
  3. Wow darkdragon, you really got the throne rooms perfect! I can't imagine how long you must have spent trying to figure out the Guild leader's convoluted building styles; I especially like what you did with the Avalonian throne room.
  4. @ kabel: Looks great! Do you want to post it in a new thread lIke Albion or do you want me to do it?
  5. @ Kabel: Can you point me in the direction of where you described the idea for this community build? @ Jacob Nion: Once challenge 6 ends we will start a brand new community build on a different forum. Historica will still be alive and well, and I will be here to organize builds and challenges, and we may even have rewards for long-time builders ranging from tags, to gift cards to Lego. I would not worry about it; there is a t least half a year's worth of official challenges and big contests. @soccerkid: Great barracks! Your building and photography just keep getting better and better.
  6. We don't believe there is such a thing as "exceeding capabilities" I think challenging yourself is the only way to advance in your building skills, and by the look of that boat I can say you sure have skills. Great creation, I would love to see the finished product in a display, or on a plain background.
  7. @ Jacob Ninon: Welcome to the Guild, Lord Aron Stark! The temperate climate fof the Mitgardian summer should keep our waterways open and visitors coming and going to your island. I am eager to see scenes from this nautical gem of a location in the future, and I hope to see your valiant efforts in the current Elemental crisis! Welcome to the Northlands, enjoy the company and the many excellent builders and story writers who are now your neighbors! ------------------ @ all Guildsmen, challenge 4 is a little more than a month and 2 weeks away! Let's make this round Mitgardia's round! We have not led or won since round 1, but I believe we are close enough and capable of being the best overall Guild, if we can pull together in these difficult times. Fate rewards the fateful, and Guild leaders reward hard work. With this in mind, let me give you a good visual reason as to why it's a good idea to try in this challenge: No explanation needed! This is the largest single prize we've ever provided for a History Contest, and it is generously sponsored by the EB Staff. I am excited to see which one of you gets to take this beauty home! Last prize went out to a Mitgardian, perhaps the trend will carry on!
  8. I actually tried this out; what do you think?
  9. Great news Guildsmen! A grand prize for round 4 has just been approved, and we will be announcing it soon! I think you'll all be very excited, I know I am.
  10. No worries, we'd be happy to have you as a dual citizen if it'll make you happier. Just declare one or the other when submitting your entree for challenges.
  11. Mitgardia is quite frozen in the Winter, but indeed looks like Avalonia in the Summer months. So if you're going for the seasonal feel right now, it's quite green and lush. Imagine Scandinavia in the summer months and you've got a good image. While joining two guilds may not be an option, you can always build in Mitgardia. De Gothia, ZCerberus and a few other builders are experts at building in other lands, while sending their sig-figs on vacation there. @Stormbringer: Micro scale background should be included, but doesn't have to be anything more drastic than a few mountains in the distance. I hope you enter challenge 4!
  12. Perhaps you should not have told him that; you may end up sticking around the north quite a bit longer than you planned.
  13. How jolly! A wedding is just the kind of thing to uplift our spirits in these dark times! All eyes are on Ecclesiastes; what will he say?
  14. What a beauty, man! I really like the architecture of the wall gate and towers, but what pushes this MOC from great to outstanding for me is the great amount of details throughout; from the beautifully designed carriage, to the own killing a rat in a gory yet subdued corner of the MOC. Your photography is indeed excellent! The colors look realistic and there is just the right amount of shine on the bricks. Well done once again!
  15. Looks like he joined Avalonia. Nobody wants to live up north these days. I pin it on the cold winters, trolls, and so many great builders in the Guild already!
  16. An incredible beauty DC! You're really onto something with that color scheme. The roof design, pavement, boat and brick work really are world-class designs; I'm sure many a Lego designer could learn loads from studying this beauty! Well done, and I hope you do more of these city sets.
  17. No height limit. Aesthetics is your guide.
  18. The big juicy Lego prize for the most popular entree? The set that will make every builder here drool with desire? I may or may not know something about it. Patience...
  19. Congratulations to everyone who worked on the project and contributed many hours to making the layout perfect! It truly looks wonderful ladies and gentlemen and I hope you are all proud of your achievement! Like the others I'd love to see more detailed photos, but I'm sure it's just a question of time. Way to represent EB!
  20. Here's what's been put up by Nannan: (Eurobricks display table) And ZCerberus' tower of course: There were more but he took them down.
  21. Regarding the photo quality; we don't expect it to look like shots from a Lego catalogue. That part is there just so we don't get pictures that do a total disservice to the model. (for example no background, totally blurry or dark pictures etc) Trust us we don't expect real professional photos; and if the photos are bad enough to warrant disqualification then the moc would have no chance of winning at all. Trust in our judgement, and take it as a cautionary tale not as a criterion for us to nitpick at later. Cheers, and good building!
  22. Good question! It can be outside as long as it doesn't constitute a big MOC on its own. A few studs worth is OK, but nothing more than that, or otherwise one could create an entire valley, or mountainous panorama. This is meant to be something more akin to background, not intense micro-scale MOCing.
  23. Challenge IV :" Elemental Mayhem" Rules: • Must be an action scene that shows elemental destruction including an elemental monster of your own design. • It must be a single scene (not a story/narrative multi-scene build. Think of it as a still-frame of a large scene of devastation) • You may choose any elemental not just the one that spawned from your own Guild's element. • Size is limited to 48X48, with reasonable overhang. • In the background of your build you must include a micro-scale landscape, be it mountains, forests, oceans, cities or any other form of terrain. Points will be awarded based on originality, layout, and building skill. As always photography is key in this round, so each entree is expected to be photographed at a professional level with plain backdrop of any color. (We challenge the skill level of our builders more with each challenge, therefore in this round entrees that are poorly photographed and in bad locations will be disqualified. No furniture, pets or random objects in the background please) The deadline for this challenge is Sunday, August 5th 2012 We look forward to what you the builders can come up with for this challenging round, and hope that you have fun with it! -Sincerely, The Guild Leaders
