  1. Thanks Klaus... Well I think TLG is releasing some really nice sets these days, but a bus would be great. I dont think Lego has ever produced a bus for our beloved minifigs, I guess they're only option is to take the train or drive...
  2. Wow these are all impressive, wish I had your talent (and the Lego to build!). So are you going to create a town layout with these? It would look amazing.
  3. Cool bus Lasse D, I like your doors and you've really crammed alot in on a 6 wide bus. I agree with it being a little on the large side, my objective when building it wasn't to necessarily fit in with town layouts, it was more of a standalone. But it may still fit in with some town plans if you're using 6 wide vehicles already. And if I was to build it, one of the first adjustments I would make is with the front passenger access door, I too think its impractical, I found it a little hard and time consuming to experiment with moving parts on LDD.
  4. Wow thats a cool looking train, very detailed and true to the original. I also like the way you used the sloping bricks to divide the colours.
  5. Wow!!! That is simply stunning, some of the building techniques you've used are ingenious - the colour combinations and finer details are all spot on. And that lounge is one hell of a creation on its own, very clever. Well done!
  6. Thanks for all your comments guys, really appreciate it. I agree, you could easily reduce the brick count. Because it was created in LDD there were pieces that were used that didnt need to be used or situations where I could have used 1 piece instead of 2. And I started on a bus stop but didnt end up finishing it. Thanks Mariko! Thanks djo, Id love to actually build it but dont have the pieces at the moment, maybe one day. Wow Rog, I love the way your doors open for passenger access and the luggage compartment! If I was to build mine I would actually steal your door mechanisms so we can call it even. I was actually trying to add a door to the toilet but gave up in the end. I think it would be easy to do if I had access to all pieces rather than what was available on LDD. I get what you mean with the wheels, I guess thats an easy fix By the way if anyone wants building instructions or the model, they're welcome to them.
  7. Wow Guss that was quick! thanks, appreciate your comments.
  8. I did this a while back when I discovered LDD. Its a luxury charter coach. It was my first attempt at a creation so go easy... I found it a little hard to accomplish what I wanted due to the limitations with pieces on LDD. There are a few things that could be done better but I just didnt have the patience at the time. Its an 8 wide Coach, so its a little big, probably too big for most peoples town layouts, but I wanted to make it somewhat realistic inside, ie: a row of seats on either side of a center aisle with a bathroom at the back. Its a little pricey as from memory there may be as many as 500 pieces. Here are some pics: Overview Side View Other side Front passenger access door, Luggage compartment, and engine bay all open Engine Bay Top open Top open and View of Driver Toilet at rear of bus Front passenger access door and view of stair case Any comments are welcome, I'll put my thick skin on
  9. I really love the post office, very realistic and I love the detail, awesome stuff!
  10. Wow thats just awesome... big fan of town sets but this is just too good to pass up, plus you could certainly integrate this into town lego format with a few mods.
  11. Thanks for the welcome guys, Legotrainfan, Yeh Ive been on bricklink and have seen the cool modular home designs, but due to monetary constraints won't be buying them any time soon. Thanks for the tips tho! I love some of the new sets coming out. Captain Zuloo, Enjoy your stay in the big smoke! It really is getting smokey here... Guss, Glad to here Im not the only one... Im getting more used to it now though. Its funny how many adults are intrigued by my Lego sets when they them at my place.
  12. Hi all, Im married and live in Sydney Australia. I absolutely loved playing Lego (Town sets) when I was young, and there was nothing I couldnt make from my collection of Lego. I gave it up in my teens but have always had a soft spot for this childhood hobby of mine. I enjoyed it so much and believe so strongly in its ability to encourage creativity in children and its general positive attributes that Ive always maintained that it would be the choice of toy for my children should I have some in the future (yet to have any). I would occasionally browse the Lego section of a shop out of general interest. I remember being disappointed in what I saw many times (Jack Stone days, heavily <insert that tiresome argument> sets) and was glad that in my time I had some great town sets around (late 80’s, early 90’s) I’m now 30 (feeling a little old) and not too long ago for whatever reason I decided to buy a Lego set just for the hell of it. Slightly embarrassed I told myself that the person at the checkout would assume Im buying the set for a child. So I ended up buying the Garbage truck (7991) and was that was it… I was hooked. So impressed was I with the design, size and detail of this set that I now just cant help myself. I have over the last few months bought several City and Star Wars Sets, and I am impressed time and time again. Not too long ago I also picked up mine and my brothers old Lego collection from my mums place (thank goodness we haven’t sold it or given it away) and have begun building as many of our old sets as I can. So far I have built 100% of the Police Station (6398) Launch and Load Seaport (6542) and the much coveted and still very impressive Airport Shuttle (6399). There are a few sets that I have yet to build but unfortunately our older sets have suffered from some heavy discolouration and wear. So it seems that Im not the only one to have such an obsession, in fact it seems that Im a little late in getting on the bandwagon… I had no idea that there was a whole world of enthusiasts out there. Ive seen a few Lego fan websites and Eurobricks seems like a great source of information, and a great place to exchange ideas and thoughts, Im glad that I’ve stumbled across such a great site. Well I guess that’s my little intro for now…
