  1. I’m surprised to those who selected to choose a pirates lifestyle. The reality of a pirate’s life is filled with danger, poor living and health conditions and excessive brutality. Its way beyond anyone’s imagination and you can bet your bottom dollar to that… I have obviously voted for imperialists! I would always be honored to serve the Emperor, King or in my instance Sultan or Caliph!
  2. Hi all... Previously I started a thread regarding the other or previous name of the BSB. Now does anyone out there remember the exact previous or other name of the Caribbean Clipper? I think if I am not mistaken that it either was Blue Hawk or Seahawk, anybody out there with any info regarding this topic?
  3. I think Fluyt you're right!! Plus I bought my set on a trip to the UK at the time of its release from Hamleys. So, it must be the orginal...
  4. I know that I haven't confused between a City/Town Set with a Pirates set and the first Pirate set I ever bought in 1989. The problem I can't recall where I have seen that, anyways lets see further replies maybe there are some out there that might have seen the samething that I had seen. Or maybe I did get confused, dunno...
  5. Hi all! I haven't posted in a while now having been busy with many things however I wanted to share today a thought with you all... I recall a decade ago that the Black Seas Barracuda was actually named Dark Shark, has anybody seen brochures or any other official Lego products that have that classic ship carrying the name of Dark Shark instead of the Barracuda? And if there was a name change when did that happen? Or is this part of calling a product with one name in North America and with another in Europe and the rest of the world? Or am I mistaken all together here?
  6. Here's the Aramex website for the service: www.aramex.com/shopandship Don't know if they do or do not offer this service in Belgium though... With regards to what I got I ordered the following two sets: 6243 Blackbeard's Pirate Ship 6242 Imperial Fort
  7. Hey Bonaparte! Answering your questions: 1- I gave them my credit card number over the phone... Of course you can always review your credit card statement by the end of the month to review your purchases. 2- With regards to shipping I got an address in the US through Aramex's shop and ship service, its pretty good you should check it out. So, the sets would be shipped to them in the US and in return they would ship it to me in Bahrain, it won't be too expensive really, it might come to a total of 15-30 US dollars, we'll see...
  8. Hey Chris! Those sets offered on ebay UK are way too expensive mate! I suggest you wait or order them from the US like I did today, its way cheaper...
  9. I got the number and ordered two sets on the phone, just can't wait to get my hands on them!
  10. I just called the Lego US offices and they said they had no clue that those sets had gone on sale! Which number did you guys dial to order those sets please?
  11. Great job woody64! Hey with the website you had created those hats, can you actually ask them to replicate the design and create it for you?

  15. Hi all! I'm just about to have my first born child and I was wondering if I can get some advice from other Lego collectors out there. Now owning various Lego sets with their mocs around the house would always eventually intrigue the little boy or girl to try and get a hold of them thus possibly destroying the prized collectables since they don't understand their value, even if you do get them as many alternative toys as possible, they would eventually insist on playing with the ones which they see Dad collecting or assembling. So what to do in this situation? Now I know it would take them some years to then try their best to get hold of those Lego sets, but when they do come to that age, what to do? Even if we do lock those sets up, eventually one day they would find themselves in and would try to get a hold of them, right? Anybody with experience out there regarding this matter? Thanks!
  16. Not a fan of the Islander sets, sorry!
  17. Hi all! Is there a place online where I can purchase lego bodies or figs of any color online? Thanks!
  18. I would like to see more imperial stuff released while adding other types of imperial armies into the line. In other words more realism... And please no fantasy stuff like ghosts, dragons and skeleton armies... Thank you very much!
  19. I know Arabic well... The Arabic script says Al-Emirate, which is an abriviation for the United Arab Emirates. By the way the name Emirate in Arabic means a state, while Emirates would then mean a group of states. Plus the style in which the letters were drawn seems to be similar to that of the Emirates Airways... Hope that helped! Here's the text in Arabic: الامارات Here's also the actual logo from wikipedia:
  20. I noticed some threads on here that enable you to design your own lego figure torso. So, I was wondering in that regards is there a place or website in which we can send those designs to? They would then be able to print the design on a lego torso and ship us our new figure or group of figures? Thanks!
  21. Thanks a lot Captain Zuloo for your response and I appoligize for posting this here, since its my favorite section of the forums ;-) I will post it there again...

  23. Hey Brickster where you able to re-create the fez or as they also call it tarboosh yet? Would love to see how it came out and how where you able to assemble it? With regards to the pic you had displayed early on in your thread the fez itself looks fine however the tail that comes out of it is way too long, it kind of gives it more of a freemason fez look than a Turkish/Egyptian/Morroccan one... Anyways here are some images of various well known Turkish personalities that wore the fez, it might help to inspire others, you never know...
  24. I have always loved the blue coats over the red coats and the Spanish... The blue coats were the first to be released and I never really got over them being changed later on with the red coat guys...
  25. Just wondering and I don't know if this was already discussed, but does anybody know the exact dates in which the new Lego Pirate sets would be released for sale? Thanks!
