Thank you so much Darkdragon for your comment, it certainly explains a lot. Let's see what others might suggest as well. :)

Hi all! I’ve noticed in some brick films featuring castle themes in battle the ability of the archers to launch their arrows. The arrows are seen flying and the bows are no longer attached with the arrows, knowing very well that all LEGO arrows are attached to their bows. How do you manage splitting both and animating such battle scenes? An example of what I’m looking at is seen in this short: Thank you in advance.

Sorry for being late, as I was extremely busy those past days and thanks to all who had replied. I will test it out and let you know the results as soon as possible.

Thanks MarshallsLego for your reply. I just read about combining plastic with bleach and I don't think its a wise thing to do.

Hi all! I got a quick question recently I had to pack some of my Lego while moving away to my new home. The Legos stayed packed inside suitcases and boxes for about 40 days until I re-opened them again to discover that around 10-15 Lego Imperial Guards from my Pirate sets have changed their shade from white to a light yellowish color, especially their legs portion. I really don’t know why. I had stored them faraway from any sunlight and in fair weather conditions. Can anyone tell me what’s the cause and how can I repair the minifigs, if there’s a way to go about it? I tried washing them by using water and tissue but with no significant result.

My first ever pirate set was the Black Sea Barracuda (Dark Shark), bought it when it first came out on a trip to London in 1989.

I can’t remember accurately but if my memory serves me right my first ever Lego Castle set would have been the 6040 set.

Congratulations Bonataparte and all the best!! -
I just came across this video on youtube and was wondering if anyone else has seen it before? Is it from some sort of a video game or is just a Lego Pirates' fan animation? Any idea?

Hi all! I really don't know if this topic was touched before or not, so I would like to know which name do you prefer to use for the legendery pirate, is it Captain Roger or Captain Redbeard? To me personally its Captain Roger, since I came to know him as a child by that name and that's the name that got stuck in my memory... Maybe someone can help me by adding a poll for this question?

Nice moc Sir Nadroj!! I love Ottoman history so I can relate further to your moc. I really liked the details with the rug hanging on the walls and the water drinking fountain, as I said love the details in it. The only thing I would point out is the usage of the turban on one of the characters, I just feel it looks more Indian than Middle Eastern, but again that's the only turban you can find within the Lego sets. But once again, an excellent job there mate!!

Well as for me I have a lot of the old and the major new sets already, as a result what I would want to own now is the missing sets that I never got to buy past or present, and they are as follows: 1- Redbeard Runner 2- Soliders Tavern (can't recall its name in the US) 3- Broadside's Brig 4- Enchanted Island That's about it for me :)

Agreed with you 100% martinsuper and would love to see LEGO's response to this. I would also have liked you to add a word about the current look of the new Jolly Roger logo which features a skull who many onboard agree looks alien like, so I do hope they do also change that in the near future, though I doubt it...

Honestly I was also disappointed when the new pirate sets came out, since to me Captain Brickbeard and the BB ship only looked like an updated version of Captain Roger and the BSB ship. Maybe I'm biast since I prefer the older sets which I grew up with as a kid, especially the early ones up to 1992-93; so I won't give a clear and fair opinion of the new ones. Nevertheless it was a great pleasure and surprise to see the pirate theme back!

Well as for me, I've got the following so far: - 4 brown boats - 5 red boats - 1 dark blue boat

The disney deal, implications to the pirate theme?
Barbaros replied to n'henk pas's topic in LEGO Pirates
I hope they don't introduce any Lego POTC sets and if they do, I do wish that they can keep the two Pirate lines running seperately (the normal Lego Pirates and POTC), but I doubt that they would do such a thing... The reason that I can't stand seeing POTC Lego sets is mainly for not being a fan of the fantasy aspect seen in POTC. -
Hi all! Was wondering if the jolly roger (skull head figure + two thigh bones) in front of the bicorner hat worn mainly by Captain Roger, Ironhook and Brickbeard is historically accurate. Meaning did Pirate commanders and captains actually use such a hat with jolly roger's figure on it? Or is the design created by Lego made to appeal to kids and has no historical accuracy? Anybody got any info on it?

I would love to see the blue coats back! I mean their the originals! With regards to the islanders, good Lord I hope they don't even consider reproducing them, they were one of the prime reasons that I went into my dark ages with regards to Lego! I would also like to see merchant ships and bigger and mightier Soldiers' ships, in addition to introducing something middle eastern like possibly the Ottomans, its a long shot but I hope to see Lego surprising me with that!

Marines for my upcoming English ship of the line!
Barbaros replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
Congrats Bonaparte having finally gotten your hands on the new pirate sets! I was wondering about something similar, what shall I do with the new British soldiers while they don't share similar looks to the older ones, so having them as your marines is a good idea to start off with! Any particular popular British ships you aim to re-create? -
Thanks SlyOwl for your post and link! I have seen most of those films on the link a while back on Youtbue and I do agree with you that the Battle of New Orleans is one of the best lego pirate shorts on there!

Hi all, I know there are tons of lego pirate brick films on the net, some are poor others are average and a few are exceptional! But I have personally yet to view a good lego pirates battle scene, so can anybody guide us to any good clips out there? Please post the link whether its on Youtube or any other site!
