Silly Nicktoons - a 2 hour recap is called playing all four episodes in their entirety. Hopefully someone will be able to record it when it airs, so that we won't need to wait as long as we did with the first series to watch it.

Strangely, 90625 is the normal Hero torso, 90623 is Fire Lord's extended torso, and there is no 90624. It's almost as if they know it exists but didn't want to add it yet. I think the more likely explanation is that the person who inventoried the Heroes did so from promotional pictures without having the set themselves, so missed the fact that Stormer has a unique torso. Speaking of the smaller torso, I'm still surprised that it was made. It isn't used as much as the regular torso and it has less connection points, although I've found the piece useful for better proportions when making MOC bodies out of multiple torso pieces.

Review: Hero Factory 2011 (First wave)
Brickthing replied to Siegfried's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I first noticed the small hole on Pohatu Phantoka's Hordika neck pieces, so I've always thought that the change came with the "updated" socket pieces. It's interesting to see that the three-hole design has been used in other toy ball joints before. The holes apparently also help reduce variation in ball sizes caused by the plastic shrinking after being moulded - 0.1mm differences would probably affect the strength of the joint. I have mixed feelings about the holes especially now that there are six per ball - on colours aside from black they are quite obvious and draw attention from other parts of the model when they shouldn't. However, they allow the joints to perform well for longer, and they might save us a few cents on plastic. They should do, because they have similar dimensions and the 2.0 Heroes can be articulated to fit better. If a standard Hero doesn't fit, the range of bone pieces should allow you to make a Hero that does. -
Nope - I read that it hasn't even been finished yet, if it's being completed at all. So far all suspected airing dates have shown the first series instead.

I've changed your massive pictures to links, as they're too big for a topic. If you're unsure of how to resize the images, there's a helpful tutorial here. Could you explain what the puzzle is? The second picture is just a close-up of the MOC, although I wonder how the Cendox helmet is attached.

Would you mind making scans, if you're able to?

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Brickthing replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I saw Battle for Geonosis at Kmart for a ridiculous $80-$90 price, but it's available now. -
The current gold used in other themes such as Ninjago and Atlantis is the same as Stars gold, so I'm fairly sure that Rocka will use the same gold.
-
Lovely photos! I'm more convinced than before that Rocka is female and wearing a lioness headdress rather than a lion helmet. As lovely as it is, I can't help but notice how similar the headdress is to Nitroblast's head. Were the sets shown at Lego World final sets? The quality of the helmets and wings look like they are.

He said that he already decided who the Great Being was before the mini-contest, but the idea to make that character a GB was new when he decided to do it. So it's possible that the GB character doesn't make canonical sense as being a GB due to some obscure details in past story, and will be retconned to make it make sense.

I think the new blades would've been designed with Bulk's use in mind, or perhaps the Exo-force arms have been adjusted slightly to have more friction. At any rate, it's unlikely they'll include a flimsy connection in his design. I hope they will be silver, because it would look better, and the black/red blades are meant to represent corrupted Quaza spikes, which wouldn't make sense on Bulk (unless it's a story detail?). I wouldn't mind whichever way, because I really love the black/red blades. The version I've built uses one of the Av-Toran/ball pieces from Drilldozer to connect the torso armour to the torso piece, as well as to connect the neck to the torso. It works, but it seems a stud too high, which suggests to me that he uses the possible new ball piece. I'm not sure, but because there are two rods connecting the piece instead of one, having shorter rods might make it easier to remove.
-
That is a very strange part, but I want some! It looks like it would be useful in making a vehicle with the new system. I'm glad that the BZP coverage provided some alternative angles, although a back-shot of Rocka XL would've been nice as well. I have a suspicion that Raw-Jaw uses a new torso piece to achieve armour on both sides*, and that Fangz might use a new ball+pin piece to connect the 2nd and 3rd printed backplates. A axle/pin piece and either of the existing balls would work, but they'd come apart far too easily. *Nevermind, I figured out a working alternative.Although two of the hypothetical ball+pin pieces would work even better... I don't think so - the spikes in 2.0 sets are connected quite strongly, and the new wrist pieces the Exo-force arms are attached to would be designed to hold the arms tightly.
-
Yes, because it wouldn't be fair on the people who don't have surplus four related MOCs that haven't been posted yet.
-
I realize it's probably not a core, but it needs to be referred to as something more specific than "Armour detail #3. (We could call it the micro battleship piece. ) Consider your idea stolen, and a quick MOC demonstrating it upcoming.
-
Referring to this one? Most of the villain heads connect to armour pieces, but it requires rod-pins around twice as long (as villain cores and spikes) to attach to a Hero head. Hopefully there will be space in the masks for building alternative heads with transparent eyes, at least for the masks that still have eye-holes.

Multiple useful pieces then.

They're the best launchers so far - functional, compact and made of multiple pieces, so that would explain why they're still being reused. However, I wouldn't mind seeing a new Thornax launcher piece, that uses the same concept and basic design, only with a different (more HF) aesthetic. Before the Thornax launcher stops being used though, it'd be great to have it in a few more colours.

Where are the old parts that are overused? All of the new 2.0 bone and armour pieces were introduced as the standard pieces for the new Action Figure system, along with only a few fire/2.0 Hero specific pieces. This wave uses mostly the same standardized pieces, along with new jungle specific pieces. Improving a line doesn't mean revolutionizing the system with 40+ new pieces every wave.

The first post has been updated with Toyfair pictures! I couldn't make out the ? piece counts and prices from the pictures.. Looking at this picture, Witch Doctor's face does have the angular aesthetics of HF armour pieces, along with the bone/rock aesthetics on his face.

Is it bad that I laughed when I saw those? (I really wonder how that got past the radar - kids can even build that!) The boxes look the same as the preliminary images, so I think the sets are more finalized. Although Rocka XL is back to Fire Lord ankles, she uses the new armour pieces absent from the box that fix Fire Lord's thigh issues. And now I make my long-winded lines of thoughts on the line. Stringer: I like that the sound motif was carried over from his previous form, but he doesn't look the same with only 2 eyes. Black and Yellow-Orange are new for 2.0 Heroes, but most of them are already avaliable in Winter/Summer sets. I wish those claws were in Black, which would make them look less plastic and match his other hand. Stormer: Stormer doesn't looks too interesting either, because he mostly uses pieces from his previous form. The helmet and three blue spikes might be worth getting from him though. I hope the final helmet has an open chin area as the box image does - It worked for Sahmad, so why not Stormer? It seems there's a trend that Stormer uses pieces from the previous wave such as with the trans-blue hose and now the Villain core. Unfortunately it's not recoloured this time though. Furno: As a set, I love the winged/hawk archer, but I'm annoying that armour pieces are sacrificed for that bow made out of pieces plentiful in the winter line. Hopefully the final version will at least have a recoloured silver bow, to match the wings and torso armour. I really love the vibe of the helmet, and I'd love to make a phoenix MOC from it. Nex: I don't think this Nex is as good as the 2.0 Nex, but the Silver 5 plates and new claw/armour piece make this set worth getting for me. Rocka: I can't wait to get my hands on this set! Gold armour, black armour, white core/head and a black hand! I would have bought doubles, but Rocka XL will serve that purpose instead. Bulk: My thoughts are the same as on Rocka, as there aren't any pieces on Bulk that I don't love. That wolf helmet is gorgeous! Waspix: This set looks very good in terms of parts and the final set. I especially look forward to the trans-yellow plates, wasp printed armour and excess amount of Ben 10 claws. Hopefully the Shadow Matoran feet will be remoulded to have new sockets, because it would be a real shame to include breakable sockets after they were finally eradicated in the winter wave. Fangz: I don't know if it's a good sign that we're already getting villains with unconventional torso designs, but I like those segments. The spears don't make the best fangs when they're like that though...Although that could be due to bad Toyfair posing that also ruined the digigrade legs. The hind legs aren't correct though, as they have two sets of ankles, and the number of claws doesn't match the front paws. The mask/face looks very cool and Zoid-like, but it seems a bit small for Fangz. Mamut: I can't really see much from the picture angles, but he looks quite cool as a set. There are a lot of repeated pieces from winter Villains, but at the very least he has red Ben 10 feet and plenty of silver Exo-force arms. Scorpio: He don't look very scorpion-like, but that's only due to the Toyfair posing. At the same price as Rocka XL, he looks to be a great source of bone pieces, black armour pieces and most of the new Summer pieces as well. My main complaint is that the head isn't more integrated into the body like a real scorpion. Rocka XL: This set is another absolute purchase for me! The new armour pieces fix Fire Lord's thigh issue, and there is a very generous selection of gold and spiky pieces. Witch Doctor: My absolute favourite Hero Factory set so far. The set has a fantastic colour scheme and vibe to it, helped along by the red/black and white spikes that the skeleton masks. The pieces within are a gold-mine of balls, bone pieces, armour pieces and even a few new summer pieces as well (I think the chest armour is the same as on Nex). The skeleton mask looks very dark and suitable to the character, although from this distance it looks slightly too organic for a Hero Factory robot. Plus, I think the Witch Doctor set has white Mahri tubes!

Are you ready for round 3.0? Thanks to EB member Bfahome, you can check out and discuss the new Heroes and Villains in the Action Figure Forum now!

It's Nex. Even the thigh armour matches. Though that's beside the point of the silhouette, which is meant to represent a generic Hero that you'll be able to design yourself. It would've been nice if they'd mixed up the pieces to properly represent a generic Hero, seeing as they needed to make a new vector outline anyway.

There aren't any interesting graphics/music files hidden in the SWF, but it looks like it receives the text from an external file, meaning there will most likely be new entries added as we approach the launch date.

That's a shame. Still, "vehicles" must refer to something in the 2011 HF line-up. Rocka XL could be considered an Exo-Toa vehicle for Rocka. Or they could be referring to the drop-ships in the backgrounds of many box-arts.
