EMD G26 Diesel-electric locomotive #60, introduced in Hong Kong in 1974, which is called "Peter Quick. This locomotive is still for using in Hong Kong. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Superb/a...ane/0930g26.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Superb/a...ne/dise1340.jpg This locomotive is look like 10133(Burlington Northern Santa Fe 2958 EMD GP39-2), so i used the instruction of 10133 to make it. The bright red with light grey color and blue is very matched and sharp. The back part and front part of locomotive are also good in outlook.

MOC: Hong Kong Railway EMD G12 locomotive #51 Sir Alexander
benny replied to benny's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Thanks a lot! I am happy to become "Front-paged". For the front end and back end with the white and black decaled tiles, they are totally hand made. They are not the printed sticker. When i was making the printed sticker, i found that the ink of printer was used up. In this case, I used one black sticker, then i cut it into 2mm in width. After that, i affixd them one by one, they made me near blind on eye. Finally, the effect is very nice. -
Wah! Good job! Very nice locomotive. The color is so matched. You can make it in good effect by slope and parts only, no need to use the decal. It is not ease to make this 7 X wide locomotive and in smooth surface.

MOC: Hong Kong Railway EMD G12 locomotive #51 Sir Alexander

Thanks for your comment! For my lego train style, i like to make its size in 6X wide and the length is similar to 10133 or 10020. The advantage is the size is matched to th train station and repairing station. No problem in entering of train. Another reason is avoid over-use of parts and bricks. In Hong Kong or Asia, the lego sets and parts are much expensive than Europe and USA. Around 20% or more than europe, 30% or more than USA. Besides, it is not ease to buy the train parts in Asia. In this case, i like to make the MOC train in 6X wide. However, i will try to make the improvement for the train. -

Thanks for your suggestion! 7Xwide ...may be good in outlook! As i have 10027, 7X wide train may be not ease to enter it! I will try to improve it! -

Thanks for yor speedy comment!!!! Actaully, i like this old locomotive so much but it had been stopped in use for a long time. I am happy to see it if it can be the front page posting or other famous brick page. I will post another MOC hong Kong locomotive later. When i made this No. 51 sir Alexander, i was also making another one. -
MOC EMD G12 Diesel-electric locomotive #51, introduced in Hong Kong in 1955, which is called "Sir Alexander", named after former Governor Alexander Grantham http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:KCR-siralexander.JPG http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Superb/a...ageca8cooqq.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Superb/a...agecauvgfm2.jpg The EMD G12 was a class of locomotive built by GM-EMD, and its Canadian affiliate General Motors Diesel. In addition, Australian licensee Clyde Engineering built ten locomotives for New Zealand in 1957, five for Hong Kong, 23 for Queensland, 14 for Western Australia and seven for BHP. Australian licensee Commonwealth Engineering also built 42 for Queensland Rail in 1964-66. Many examples were built in the 1950-60s for railroads all over the world. They are powered by EMD 12-567C prime movers rated at 1250 hp. Some have been rebuilt with EMD 645 engines. This G12 #51 "Sir Alexander" was using from 1957-1997. After repairing, it is displayed in Hong Kong Railway Museium since 2004. To make this MOC locomotive, i don't want to break a 10194, it is too EXPENSIVE. So that i give up the dark green color, i use of brick green color as main color. For another reason, it is not ease to collect the dark green parts in Hong Kong. The bright green with white color is very matched and sharp. So as to improve the control room, i install the doors and upside cover. The minifigure can be changed in ease. We can also see the engine through the door or top cover.

Oh! Gundam is so famous in the world, i am happy to know you also like this war ship. Yes, the antenna is the main gun.
-
Wow!!! It is a very big and beautiful hospital, the color in white and red are simple and matched. It has very nice western building style. The minifigures' beings are so attractive. It is special to see the ground sheet can be changed, the different development s can be seen. It has car park and helicopter parking, great. Oh! Do it has lift? Otherwise, the patients are difficult to go to the upper floor.

Thanks, WhiteFang! You totally decribed the meaning of "Yu" and design of my MOC. I am nice to know that it will be posted on Class-town.net!

Thanks for your comment! I plan to make the port and shop repairing factory later!!! If lego co. can focus on our MOC and design more supermarket, market or other citizen use facilities, the lego fans should be very happy!!! It will be much better than fire station, police station and construction equipments! I am so happy that so many lego fans like the walk -in freezers!

Thanks for everyone 's comments, i am happy to hear them!!!! I like to make the Chinese and Japanese style building or equipments MOC so as to promote our Eastern culture. For this building, it is the traditional Japanese building after 2nd World Wars. Most of them is made of wood and have two floors. The slope of roof of building is used as removing the snow on the building in the winter. At the shop front, the "dark grey chinese word" means "Fish"! It is same meaning as Japanese. It is the shop name. It is so interesting that we hear the market noise!!! I have to hear clearly to know that they say English or Japanese. hehe!
-
Thanks! Darth Hawken! You have the good observation, you are the first lego fans to see the inside of toilet through the window. So sexy! For the motion of minfigures, i think they are designed accidently! I am happy that so many lego fans like the freezer and toilet! Both of them are simple, eveyone can also try to make them. The Brickster, I am exciting that my MOC is posted on front page. Superb is my Hong Kong lego player name and brickshelf name! I also want my lego MOC is superb. Thanks for eveyone's comment !!!!

As it has no more space to build the toilet at G/F, the toilet should be built at 1/F!!! The 1/F is the office, restroom and toilet!!! It can prevent the contamination to the fish!
-
Thanks! Oh! Sale of Whale!!! If i really post the sale of whale, i think the WWF and Green Peace will ban me. Yes! For toilet paper! When i uploaded the photos, i found that i forgot to add the toilet paper in the toilet. The fishman has to clean the "XX" by hand or other method. hehe! Ah! In Japan, it has the automatic water basin. No need to use the toilet paper.

After the 2nd re-development of post office, the brwon building is left! I don't want to break it into the bricks so that i improve it into a seafood wholesale market! The original size is too large, i reduce it in the width! The building roof is changed ! For the internal part, i add a walk-in freezer, light, restroom and toilet! The style is followed the japanese building style! It is a wholesale market of tuna, japanese crab and scallop!!!! The orange minifigures are the market staffs. The others are the buyers and workers! The outdoor can be used as parking of boat for repairing and storage of seafood!

Very nice!!! It is full of X'mas feeling!!!!!!! Good job!!!

Oh! I also want to take a look of your post office MOC. If Lego Co. can produce more post, train or warehouse sets, we should be very happy. Sorry! I typed so many "!". I try to improve it.
-
Thanks for your comment!! I am glad that you enjoyed in my MOC!!! Actually, i spent nearly two months to complete it!!! In the beginning, the post office is smaller, the effect is not so good!!! Finally, spent more bricks to make it bigger and higher!!! The effect is much improved!!!!
