The AT-ST was already on my "must buy" list, but now seeing the extra details and features on the back of the head, I am even more excited. Now to muse.... 30th Anniversary of SW as we know it.... Can we also expect more Ep IV sets later in the year (2007) to "line up" with that? Along the lines of...... Cantina scene with more aliens, including Greedo and the dewback making a reappearance? Something with more Jawas? It would make sense for the real SW and LEGO fans. Ofcourse, that would mean the next couple of years would have to have Ep V sets. Yes, the Hoth battle scene you have all been wanting. Plus re-release of AT-AT(with improvement to neck and a couple more figs), so that I and many others could get one at a reasonable price. Why not a Rebel Battle pack and an Imperial Battle Pack while we are at it. Some time before 2011 there would have to be Endor related sets. Bunker Battle type playset. Endor Rebel Battle Pack and Endor Imperial Battle Pack (Let there be StormTroopers). Admiral Ackbar might as well show up before its all over (I mean if they can make Mr. Krabs......) I can dream can't I?

xenologer wrote My current dilemma is worse...... I have a few official sets that I have not even opened much less put together. Full time University student, husband, father of two, live on an acerage, trying to get ready for winter (there was snow on the ground this morning). Right now life is so busy it is absolutely no fun. I had an extra day of this weekend and wanted to work on some figs with parts I got off BL a month ago.... I was going to spend almost the whole day...kind of a "mental health day"...didn't happen :'-( I am hoping before Christmas break to get some time....but midterms start next week, I have my first paper due the week after that.......... No fun at all.

Play with Lego or Build with Lego
TroyTMoore replied to SirScottLego's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I play with my LEGO all the time, as the minifig, to me is a necessary part of my LEGO enjoyment. I build mostly castles, big castles, so I spend a lot of time building.... Eventually I end up playing as the minifigs are added...as they walk through a doorway into a tower room.... Then there is the battles *wub* Occasionally there are sound effects. More sound effects when I am swooshing a tie fighter around the room *ssqquaaaauuuuurrrhhh* Ofcourse everytime I pick up one of my Darth Vader figs I just have to *eeeshhhquuuue...eshhhquuue* Create, build, play; it should be what we all do with our LEGO. I will be 34 next week *y* -
LEGO is doing some great things here. 2007 SW line up is looking great and there is some hopeful possibilities for the rest of the 2007 sets we are privy to thus far. Only one problem... I have not got half of the sets I wanted from 2006 (due to lack of funds, sure I have money, but must pay for food, power, car, petro, insurance, clothing (wife and 2 children)) I am a castle fan, but am passing on the KK sets this year as they are a lot of money for little brick. I hinted strongly to my wife I wanted Jabba's Sailbarge for my b'day in October, so we shall see. I have a few SW sets because SW LEGO is very, very cool (I grew up in the late 70's early 80's and cut my teeth on LEGO and Kenner SW figs.....) I have even bought some city stuff as the vehicles are very nice looking and functional.... I look forward to the possibilities in the fig packs(GO LEGO!!) and to see if the Grevious starfighter has the 4 armed fig I don't yet own.....

HISTORIC ACCURACY or FANTASY in LEGO's history lines ???
TroyTMoore replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Whatever works! :-P Seriously, as long as the sets are believable. Classic Castle had realistic looking castles (believable) and had no fantasy. Dragon Masters introduced fantasy and we all know what happened. Ofcourse had the dragons wizards and withches been introduced but THE SET DESIGNS been more similar to historical (believable) structures these fantasy changes would have added to the fun. The set designs, a deviation from realism is what killed Castle, not Willa the Witch Vikings, the ship and fortress are great, and more historical (especially the ship) The dragon and serpent are fantasy, but give neat playability options for the wee ones. Town is a great example of realism working, I mean, would you buy an ambulance with wings and a radar dish on the roof? SW has a frame a reference, so the sets have to look like what appears in the movies....otherwise they are not believable Even Space had to work within believable parameters. A space craft needs propulsion engines, wings, a cockpit and crew..... So my answer is realistic/historical. It has to be believable. If it isn't broken, don't try and fix it! -
CRAP baseplate.... could be useful...maybe. Would prefer a castle, in similar style to this, but built on plates like VDF. The blacksmith, skeleton hanging on wall, very neat. I do not like the "tower" wall peices that first appeared in KK1, nor do I care for more of the 1x5x6 black wall panels with printing. More brick please. This does make me curious about the final product and what exactly it will look like and cost....

Hello. Not sure if this is the right place, but here goes. The 2006 sets have been coming out a little earlier than initially slated....which is OK by me. When are the 2 Vikings sets due to be out? I am planning on going to Fargo North Dakota end of June and was wondering if these sets may be available then. We will be visiting some of my wife's family in southern Manitoba, but I plan on making a 250km excursion into the USA as our dollar is strong and US pricing is sooooo much better than Canadian. I hope the TRU there will at least have the 2005 Vikings as well as Sailbarge and ISD *wub* If anyone has been to this TRU could you tell me if it is large and well stocked or not? Thank you.

Thanks for the info my fellow C-Cers! I was concerned it was just me. I post most on C-C(and that is not much at all) but I browse here and FBTB (with very infrequent posts). I like Eurobricks as it is a friendly community. Plus it usually has the latest news in LEGO products first!

Hello Everyone. Sorry if this is the wrong place for this question. As of yesterday morning I kepp getting a "Cannot Find Server" page when trying to go to Classic-Castle.com. That is my main site as I am a castle fan (but I like a lot of other themes too) and I am experiencing withdrawl *wacko* It could just be my ISP or something else local. I am not very familiar with all the technological aspects of the internet, so I am seeing if this is the case for any, or all, of you as well. Thank you for your time.

This is sad news. Not that LEGO should make more licensed themes, but the fact that Pirates of the Carribean is and will be popular for a couple more years, and MB has the license..... Well, it's just wrong. LEGO's Pirate line was very good and this would have been an opportunity to bring it back. On the upside LEGO could still make their own Pirate theme, say releasing next spring, that, although not being PotC, could be superior for set design, versatilty of parts, and the ever cool minifigs. Given what TLC has done this last year or so, by way of more parts, better designs and prices, there is hope.....

Big, Fat, Hi-res Pictures of upcoming sets

Sam89 wrote Thanks for pointing that out Sam89. Very happy to hear this (and with a little investigation of the site I would have seen that was the case :-$ ) -

The Viking seige wagon.... AKA Army Builder, where is the 7th fig? The "missing" one that has been in other pics has my favourite torso (scale maille). I hope he is riding in back manning the firing mechanisms. KK2:3 :-X The fig accessories are great, a huge improvement, but the structures have very few actual bricks, at least from what can be seen. Maybe an inventory of the sets would improve my opinion... maybe The Creator dragon has some great parts. The model itself looks pretty neat. Exo-Force looks really good. I hope this line is doing well. I am a castle head but between Star Wars (I have a few sets including Sandcrawler) and Exo-Force I am tempted to build some space stuff.... *y* The big headquarters set looks like a set that will do well, as you have lots to build and a large enough amount of figs and vehicles (mecha) to have a battle all out of one box. -
Couldn't help but notice "Components made in DENMARK, CHINA, and GERMANY." CHINA! Explain please? I know there was talk some time ago about getting components manufactured in China. As long as it is the same LEGO quality we all know and love, it doesn't bother me (much  ) I like to think LEGO is one of the last true quality toys, and being manufactured in Europe was a plus for me.

Sting wrote I don't know about that.. There are quite a few on some of the LEGO forums I visit  Back on topic. Yes you are right.

So what does that mean? I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess both of you are from Ontario or points EAST of there, am I right? Fact is the Liberal governmment barely acknowledges Western Canada unless they want oil and natural gas. As a resident of Saskatchewan, I find that bothersome (we have become a have-not province in the last 5 yrs). Change may be good to bring the country together, at least that is my hope. No party or politician is perfect and you can't please everyone any of the time, but it was time for a change. Paul Martin was fiscally responsible....except for the sponsorship scandal :| A federal NDP government? We have that provincially and let me tell you, it is our undoing. No sense of the big "picture". Federally the NDP would alienate us from the USA, which if you acknowledge reality, would be no good for Canada. Not a political analyst by any means, but that is the way I see things from my corner of the country.

Yes Sam89, I meant NEW Vikings. Thanks for pointing that out.
-
Noticeably absent are the VIKINGS :'(
-
I voted NEW Pirates. You could have red ones, green ones, purple ones and baby blue ones....wait a minute, that's been done with my favourite theme already, why ruin my second favourite... Seriously though, releasing Legends as a way to test the waters would be a good idea. Given the popularity of the theme it should do well. MB currently has a bizarre looking Pyrates (sp?) line so maybe in a bit? The more realistic looking ships, the better. Get rid of the JS masts as they totally ruined the Viking longship.
-
Vikings! For the figs torsos mostly and the longboat hull. The ring fort is cool too and a good source for log pieces. I am a castle head, and I like to have lots of troops. The Viking torso prints for the most part are fantastic. KK was much improved, VDF was great. SW mmmmmmm some very nice sets, and I am not a huge SW fan. I had to get Sandcrawler and Imperial Inspection. City sets are WOW if you are into City.

Initially I was quite irrate with the colour change to light grey, dark grey, and brown. I realized very shortly thereafter that I could be miserable or get over it. I got over it. I buy whatever set I want without a care as to the "colour" of the bricks. I build castle, and only castle, so grey is a big colour for my building. I had quite a bit of old grey, but now I have quite a bit of new grey.... Here is the result... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=105730

He he, suprising how fast that adds up, eh? When I have a certain part that I need quite a few of, I use the BrickLink Catalog to hone in on the item I want in the colour I want, in the quantity I want, for the least amount of money I am wanting to part with..... If there are several items, I start with the item I want most of using the aforementioned method, then when I get to that seller's store I check and see if they have the other items I want..... I end up meeting in the middle, maybe paying a bit more, but getting it all from 1 store as to not pay multiple shipping charges. Shipping can be a reall killer. Actually there are some sellers that I am sure use the S&H to make up for their "sale prices".... Fact is BrickLink is just too handy... You can stay at home and have access to almost anything LEGO you want or never knew existed until you do a little "Windows" shopping. Without exception I never just stick to my wanted list, there are always a couple of things a seller has that I "need" (Well I am already ordering. I will have these parts too for what I may build later...and any other logical argument I use to convince myself it is OK to click a few more items into the cart).

No chance of there being money in my pocket this upcoming year..... This should be a fantastic set, given what we have seen with Sandcrawler and Imperial Inspection (neither were "perfect" models, but with the figs and all, there was a great atmosphere created). If the KK2:3 stuff looks as good as the megafigs.... Unreal, LEGO seems to be pursuing some good things. 2005 was already sooo much better. Yay LEGO!
-
WOW!! Not a fan of the "mega" figs, but if these designs translate into minifigs :o The insignia are believable, the helms are closer to historic and the colours are not easily mistaken for those of the rainbow. I look forward to this new line!

I voted slave 1 As a castle LEGO fan I do not have not bought much Star Wars LEGO, but that all changed this summer.... I grew up on SW and the Kenner figures.... When I seen the Sandcrawler and Imperial Inspection *wub* I was smitten! So then I bought a Tie fighter with LULS Darth Vader and a Clone Walker. I like the V-wing for the ARC pilot fig, and the Tie Interceptor is looking very nice. Storm Troopers and Darth Vader are some of the coolest minifigs ever!
