  1. I'm genuinely surprised by the price of that set, I was expecting it to go for around $60 USD instead of $40, but yes I can sort of see this as being the future of "Constraction", I just hope that things look a lot less...mech-y in the future. And as said above, hopefully more articulated figures get made for older fans. I just hope that whatever happens, lego doesn't make the same obvious mistake they made with SWC and decide to put human faces on them.
  2. Those are some very interesting choices for Matoran, can't wait to see Beltok, Khorhin, and Jarkha
  3. Mixel/Technic fusion. Some folks think the comic book mechs that Lego's doing right now are them poking around with the viability of Mixel centric sets, and as Aanchir pointed out a while ago, Bionicle can definitely be done in System, I just personally hope it doesn't get the ninjago treatment with minifigs, mechs, and an overreliance on shiny vehicles
  4. Yup, That is a strong staple of the theme I'd love that, but most likely if we got a set, it would probably by something like a UCS GSR, or a bust of Tahu, the former I'd absolutely buy, but the latter? ehhhhh
  5. I think its less about swc doing better and just that Lego hoped it would be a better investment than Bionicle, but I think it may have failed so hard with both communities that swc may be responsible for possibly killing Constraction as a whole Yeah, droids/characters that were wearing helmets sold far better than characters with bare faces.
  6. G2 wasn't advertised at all last time though, but a lot of fandom backlash from the G1 community was over the simplification of the story, which took away from what could have probably made G2 on par with G1 for many folks, I'm not sure how well Chima sold, but star wars Constraction was the wrong building system for the wrong crowd, a star wars collector usually has no interest in Constraction, and Constraction fans have never been into human figures (ex: Galidor). old G1 Bionicle isn't even a really expensive theme to bring back, the Toa/Matoran could just be made with a mixel/technic fusion system with unique masks, and all the large creatures were made mainly out of technic components that were never retired, so they're not even a problem to redo a d improve upon. Just make a theme about robot people, give it an actual budget and some real marketing and it'll sell
  7. Iirc, the 10th, so tomorrow.
  8. I mean, they kind of had last year to do that with the Ideas diorama that they didn't accept. Of course, being that it was system with minifigs I myself wouldn't have bought it, but I honestly doubt lego is looking for figure focused way to approach Bionicle again, and more just hoping that the community would migrate to ninjago or something It is Bionicle's 20th anniversary this year, which would be the perfect time for them to do something, but the closest possible date that I see them doing anything would be 2022, with either Bionicle getting the 90th anniversary by itself, or possibly splitting the winning spot with the other top 3 in smaller sets, any longer than that and my pseudo dark age will probably be fully realized
  9. Mmm, not with the (lack of a) marketing campaign lego gave it, but hey, well have to wait about, say, 5 years at the soonest? and see
  10. That maybe so, but lego did include it on the poll, and it made it to the very top of the first round, so Bionicle fans have a right to to speculate about, and discuss it as we always have, if that isn't the case, then lego shouldn't have wasted our collective time by even putting it on the poll in the first place. We both know lego wouldn't do that for the Bionicle community. I'd love to be wrong, but I honestly believe the best chance that the community has to ever get new stuff is if we back custom part designers like Kingsidorak and RSG, and pool our resources into manufacturing for ourselves.
  11. Mmm, I'm one of those folks who prefers the 01 lads to the 02 lads, I didn't really care as a kid though, but as I grew I realized that Bionicle was just a lot nicer when we had fewer metallic colours. That being said, I don't dislike the Nuva compared to the Mata nearly as much as I dislike the Uniters compared to the Masters, their designs are...trying too hard? they're so over the top and loud, if they just toned down the metallics and transparent bits, they'd improve alot, although I really appreciate the trans purple that we got on Onua
  12. Thanks dude, I will Probably not, but you're definitely one of the few, why do you like them man?
  13. Naw, they were ugly as sin tbh. Still bought them all though and I still cant find a good use for any of their masks yet I'm not even trolling, I'm using my normal vocabulary, you're the guy here who's trying to find some hidden meaning behind the use of the word "Dude"
  14. Cool dude, I'll continue to casually do so in any and every discussion I have as usual And as someone who's been in the community through out both of G1 and G2's runs, I'm pretty confident in those guesses Thus why I gave a small discrepancy of around 5 percent, although I didn't factor in Hero Factory at all into this, I should have, I loved that theme and there's (obviously) a huge overlap of people who were into it and into Bionicle. But without that, There aren't many people who's first constraction theme was G2, since it was barely marketed anywhere.
  15. If you honestly think Mixels was for Bionicle fans then castle fans have ninjago, space fans have the lego movie as well as star wars, and both of them had nexo knights apparently
  16. I vote more out of fandom solidarity than any hope of getting anything, I know better than to expect much from lego Dude, the only people that knew G2 even happened were G1 fans, and most of them just bought it because it had "Bionicle" written on it. I'm absolutely certain that out of that group of folks, somewhere below 5% would have preferred it to G1
  17. By "winning" I am talking about getting a set made. lego most likely isn't going to pick Bionicle despite what many pessimistic afols say And you do realize that the only people that think of G2 when they hear "Bionicle" were born after 2010 right? It goes without saying that the Bionicle vote was for G1. Honestly you should be thankful the vote wasn't split between G1 and G2 otherwise the top 2 spots may have very well both been Bionicle
  18. Its interesting how a sizable chunk of afols think that lego will allow Bionicle to win but many Bionicle fans know better And nearly 25,000 of the 77,000 people in round 1 voted for Bionicle, which is about 32% of the vote
  19. I didn't google anything, I searched up the Nexo Knights category on bricklink and saw how many sets it had, and like I said before, I don't follow system at all, but if nexo knights didn't appeal to the castle/space community as an actual theme, then you can understand why I'd completely take G2 off the table and say that Bionicle hasn't had proper sets since 2009
  20. I've got no idea what classic space looks like aside from grey ships with yellow windows, Nexo Knights has "Knights" in the name and guys with swords so I automatically assumed it was castle. then again, I don't understand the lore of system themes in general
  21. If we're going to lump Technic in with Bionicle, we might as well lump Ninjago in with Castle at that point
  22. didn't you guys have Nexo Knights a year ago? Bricklink says there was a little over a hundred of those sets during its run
  23. Another constraction line with lessons learned from G2 and SWC would be nice; Make smaller/less expensive sets, actually market the theme, and for the love of God don't put humans in it
  24. I dunno, with the exception of the hands that's just...normal articulation for a constraction fig, unless we're comparing them to say, an av matoran, then yeah, they would have more articulation even without the fingers and goodness, that monkey kid set makes my eyes hurt But yeah, I can understand why system folks would wanna stick with mechs, I just personally don't like them aesthetically, or functionally, it seems like a lot more parts to get something that you can achieve with a lot less, still, I'd buy system built Toa Mata anyway, purely for display purposes.
