Em signs up for Quest #78. He was anxious to get back on the field.
-
Em, downing the last of his drink, stands up from his quiet table in the corner and makes his way towards the counter. Handing the glass to the barkeep, he orders a refill, tossing the man a few coins in return. As he glides his way back to his seat, he unfurls a sheet of parchment paper. Upon taking his seat, he begins scribbling on it. The feathery quill bobbed and danced as he etched his message into the wrinkled, yellow paper. He stops suddenly, looking over his shoulder at the heroes of the hall, as if scanning for something, someone... Whatever it was he was searching for, he either didn't find it, or didn't let on that he did. Thus, he continued scribbling, his chickenscratch-style writing soon filling the page. Upon completing the task, he sits quietly, rereading whatever it was he wrote. His face betrayed nothing but utter concentration.

I most definitely agree. Quest 70 was absolutely astounding, and I have to say I loved /all/ of your Heroes. You've all fleshed out your characters so thoughtfully and so well that it makes me jealous; I'm still not sure where I want to take Em completely. It is, however, really good to know that I'm taking him in a direction that I want him to be in, so thank you for the words of praise, Zepher. (: I also agree with the three points of criticism Zepher brought up; and I would've enjoyed maybe a little more puzzle-like elements entering the Syndicate base. Getting into the Fountain and then being instantly met by enemies wasn't exactly dull, but it felt somewhat repetitive in my opinion, if that makes sense. Overall, though, I thought the battles were wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed the quest overall. The story was great, the meeting with Masson in the hotel was great (it kind of helped the story shift focus from Karie to the rest of us), and overall I feel like the entire quest helped us all develop our characters in new and interesting ways. Honestly, 70's been my favourite quest so far (even though I've only been in, like, 3) and I'm looking forward to having more interaction with you guys/your characters. Most certainly looking forward to the next Endgame quest, that's for sure. I also have to point out that I absolutely adore the Proggs, and I find them really interesting. I know there's a history of Proggs in the Quests and whatnot, but I'm not completely familiar with it, and learning about it after meeting up with the Proggs for the first time felt really... Real, I guess? I don't know what I'm trying to say. Anyways, great quest! I give it a 9/10.

Em, worn out after a long quest, shambles into the hall and orders a drink, then finds a table in the corner.
-
Em nods to Karie, acknowledging her thanks, and then nods to the other heroes in the party and the Syndicate members. Wanting a drink, Em heads back to the hall.
-
OOC: Too many names start with A. :P Em walks outside, examining his new grating stone. He strokes at his chin, lost in thought. "Drinks on me when we get back to the hall," he says finally.
-
Em returns the Scarf of Misfortune to Arnulf, then silently crosses his arms, examining the party. It had been a busy day, to say the least. He'd never argue with having more allies, though it almost felt as if he were making enemies, too.
-
Em attacks Goon A from the back row.
-
Em nods to Octavyn and fires at Goon A from the back row instead.
-
"Octavyn," Em calls from the back row, tossing the gold-clad Syndicate member a potion. "Heal up."
-
Em draws back his bow and fires at Wolfgang Goon A from the back row.
-
Em draws his bow. "Your call," he mutters, though to nobody in particular.
-
Em climbs the ladder when it is his turn, thanking Arthur for the Mulled Wine.
-
"I'm always ready for a good scrap," Em mutters, still tense.
-
The quest I'm in the process of planning out is going to only have 2-3 battles tops; not only do I not want to have complicated battles for my first quest, but sometimes battles can be the least fun part of a quest. I'd much prefer mysterious/riddles/puzzles, which is something I'm going to try to implement.

Em inspects the Protoype's head and workbench, intrigued by the Stealer's work. "Genius," he muttered to himself, almost afraid to disturb Masson's workspace.
-
"Indeed," Em replies, making his way back to the foyer. "I imagine we'll see more yet."
-
OOC: I just noticed how low on health Nevron was. Eep. Em hands a potion to Nevron. "Heal up," he states simply. Em's mannerisms were more mechanical, his face stone. It seemed as though Em was steeling himself for the final battle; a battle that would no doubt bother him.
-
"Is there some sort of sign? Markings? Footprings?" Em asks, looking around the room. "Also, the cook mentioned the shape of the building-- could that help us find our way?"
-
Em crosses his arms and regards his companions. He didn't necessarily agree with them, but he was in no position to disagree, either. Instead, he merely watched, brow furrowed.
-
"Well, that seems like our only logical route for right now," Em replies, still unsure of what to make of the empty training room.
-
Em shakes his head. "Weird," he mutters, looking around the room. "I don't like this."
-
"Should we intercept them at the training hall, then?" Em asked, curious. "If we could stop them from regrouping... Hmmm..."
-
"Don't worry about it," Em replies. "I'm sure all of us have been there at one point or another, and we all need someone to pull us back from the brink every now and again." Em pauses for a moment, running his hand through his hair. "You ever need something, you can let me know. I've got your back, for what it's worth, Alderflask."
-
Em sighs. "Good work, but our job's far from done, I think." He stretches slightly, readying himself for what's to come.
